We were treated to a amazing and unique educational experience hosted by a really personable and…read moredown to earth zoologist named Amanda and she had quite a impressive collection of critters that did not disappoint. The show was very interesting and informative as well as incredibly professional. We got to learn about critters of all kinds and interact with the animal ambassadors first hand in a pretty private audience as well. It was just us and another family for the showing. Our experience was Pre-Covid I might add but these folks seem to still be hosting a very safe operation. They are do You Tubes, live feeds, school programs and outdoor events, spaced out and utilizing mask which I appreciate.Lots of us self employed don't get PTO etc so it's nice to see safety measures being taken seriously. I like to send the YouTubes and lives to my friends in the homeschool community etc because all the information Once in a Wild too can be incorporated with the information Amanda shares in their learning.I've seen some special guest as well on their lives, they always keep it interesting. From what I can see they are making rounds at schools more often now to bring the joy of learning about animals to the classroom as well. Our time with Once in A Wild was a private party and it was a special and unique treat we absolutely adored and cherished the experience. Will never forget it Thats for sure! We had a bird fly over to us and it landed on my partner like they were old friends lol!! Gave us all a laugh and lots of joy to see. Also got to hold some exceptionally beautiful exotic reptiles! Shout out to Princess!! All the critters were extremely healthy and well taken care of and among them was many rescue animals that needed someone like Amanda to give them the correct care called for and you can see the live they placed into everything they did.We would love to do this experience again and it's been some time but since things are getting a little smoother to operate safely again we hope to make that happen.Definitely a fun thing to book for a small educational based party or for a school. Highly recommend and respect their operation and hope to see the mission supported it's amazing!!

Douglas, their planning coordinator, worked quickly and was able to get us booked the same day. He referred me directly to Amanda, the owner, to help me pick which package would best suit our needs in addition to which animals would make for the best experience. She was extremely knowledgeable and responsive. Bridget was the animal handler for our party and arrived an hour early to setup and make sure the animals were comfortable. She did an awesome job of managing 7 different animals and a bunch of curious children (and adults). She knew so much about each of the animals and made the experience fun and educational for the older kids and adults. I can't recommend Once in a Wild enough. They're extremely professional and made my son's birthday very special. We will definitely be using them again in the future!

What a fun filled day!…read more The Exotic Resort Zoo. Wow! This family owned safari park was so much fun! You can drive through or take a guided tour. Definitely do the guided tour! You get up close and personal with over 700 animals representing 45+ species. There are many species of deer, kangaroos, camels, llamas, emus, ostriches, antelopes, water buffalos, bison and more! We saw two new baby bison! One was born about 2 minutes before we arrived at their pasture. Another was just under a day old! You can feed the animals too. Look at the tongues on those highland cows and bison . There's also a petting zoo. We had a small group and our tour guide, Nicole, was fantastic!

The owner has been crying about my review to Yelp over and over, begging for it to be deleted over…read moreand over. Because he has no real defense about my critique, he's been straw manning that my review is "mean" and "hateful" -- haha this is what softies in America do these days. My family and I visited this place in early Sept 2025. Like many other negative reviews state, the animals are in a sad state. They have something called the Giraffe Experience there, where you gotta pay $5 per person, they give you lettuce, and you go up on a platform to feed the giraffes. There was an employee -- I requested the Giraffe Experience from her. She condescendingly explained to us that they were out of lettuce to feed the giraffe, so we couldn't do it. I asked, "Well, can we at least go up on the platform to see the giraffe from up there?" She rudely replied "You can, but you'd still have to pay the full price of $5/person." I started to say something, but she rudely said "Think about it and let me know", turned her back to me, and walked away. How rude! I walked over to her at the front desk and asked "Well, since y'all ran out of the food, and we'd just go up to the platform to see the giraffe, could we at least get a discount?" Now here, the defensive Owner will say "It was after Labor Day weekend and we ran out of lettuce!" This is such a lame excuse. Labor Day weekend and resultant high volume demand from it is completely predictable, and the correct action by them would have been to anticipate that and stockpile lettuce accordingly. This is basic inventory mgmt that any decent business owner should know. But this guy just makes excuses. But that's fine, I get it, rinky dink business owner is an amateur and made an inventory mistake by running out of lettuce. Fine. Then take ownership of that mistake and make up for it to your customers by letting them at least go up on the platform for free. Why on earth should they still have to pay the $5 bc YOU ran out of lettuce? It is illogical. The point wasn't the money, it's the principle... despite them screwing up by not having lettuce, this employee, instead of being apologetic and trying to make it up to us somehow, was rude and dismissive. I then asked to speak to the Manager. As is unfortunately often the case, rather than let me speak to him, she went into his office (which was right there, adjacent to the front desk), and biased him to her version. The Manager told her no, and she came and smugly told me the same thing. I was of course right in the doorway, the Manager could've easily talked to me directly, but he did not. So I asked him directly this time "I understand y'all ran out of the lettuce, and that's ok, but if we only go up to the platform to see the giraffe, sans lettuce, shouldn't there be a discount on the fee?" He started giving me the standard bureaucrat-flexing-his-muscles excuses of why they couldn't do that. Again, condescending and dismissive. I told him "Ok, this is unfortunate bc until now we've had a good experience here. But now I'll have to leave a negative review." He said he was fine with that. I asked him for his name. He refused to give it to me, instead stating "You can look it up on our website." And he was lying about this btw -- his name is not on the website. If they guy is gonna take a stand, why not share his name? And this from a "Manager" who is in the customer service business, unbelievable. Again, don't expect any ownership or apology from this Owner. He's gonna leave defensive comments, and then go cry to Yelp to have it taken down, again. Look at all the other negative reviews of this place -- that tells you what you need to know. There was barely anyone here when we went -- it will likely be out of business anytime. And with this kind of ownership, management, and employees, it's no surprise why.

I asked why the child is not able to ride the horse compared to the other children. They said because it's too big and I said too tall or too big size because we can weigh it out And measured the child's weight, but then I seen another child come to the horse and ask why the horse is standing around and I said the same thing to my friend Child. I said they said that the children cannot ride this any longer because the saddle is broken and then after that, they let someone Ride the horse with knowing that the saddle is broken. I did not have a good feeling about that, so I took my child far away from the horse just in case something was going to happen the bunnies, the ducks, the little chickens. The goats were very cute. Children tried to pick them up. Man said no do not pick up the animals, but the way he said it it was in the little rude way the child started to run and come to its parent at that point I came up and I said please don't speak to the child this way because mine also is playing with the animals. I spoke to one of the coworkers and said how long have you worked here and is it a good company because I have others who want to use the company for a birthday party for the children and they said yes but it's my first day so therefore I have a lot of questions because I came to this job thinking I was trained and there is no training and now I am having to tell children not to pick up the animals and they're unhappy because the parents said that they can't ride the horse so the children became very unhappy because the party was cut short. Sounds like the people who are working need more training and need to be able to know that if the saddle is broken, you need to fix it before bringing it to the party and please don't vape or smoke any other electronic cigarettes at the party because that was very concerning as adults have seen you And you are working for one of the families. You should know that there is no smoking at a child's party so your boss should've trained you better and you should know better as adult. I was very concerned when I seen the man smoking electronics at the birthday party and I have spoken to one of the parents about it and that was not allowed that was not in the contract that was signed and verbally spoken about also Safety. Concern of a child is very important. That is something that's going to be spoken about to others.

First of all, shoutout to Leslie who answered all my questions and to our wonderful tour guide Veronica! Thanks for making an unforgettable trip for our family. We had a blast and each of us had a different favorite animal encounter! It's great to be so close to the animals and seeing the size of the lion and tigers was wild. Getting to feed the tiger was so cool, my favorite encounter. I wanted to interact with all the animals like the caracal and serval but they don't offer encounters with all the animals, which I get. The otters and porcupines, sloths and lemurs were all unique encounters. Then there's the dwarf crocodile and snake and coatimundi- so cool. We were smiling from ear to ear. My niece wanted to take home a fennec fox while my sister now wants a pet prairie dog, who could blame them? They are so cute. It's hard to describe it as a zoo because you are so close to the animals and get to play with and feed some of the animals. We had an amazing time at Texas Wildlife Park!!
