Easily five stars. They spend a half hour with your pets for each visit, or there's a 45-minute visit option. While I was away for four nights, we had the service come twice per day. In addition to caring for and playing with the pets, they bring in mail and package deliveries, open curtains/shades in the morning, close them at night, and otherwise deal with general property stuff. We plan to use them for upcoming pet sitting needs. One nice touch was text messages when they visited, with photos of the kitties. I had no worries at all. Very nice people. read more

I have been so beyond satisfied with Pooches 'n Whatnot and all they've done for my puppy. Chris is amazing, and both she and her staff (Sam, particularly!) obviously are passionate about taking care of pets. When my husband and I first got our goldendoodle Rangeley back in January, we were first-time dog owners terrified to have to leave our little girl alone with a stranger during the day---but we knew it was important to have someone check in on her, take her out for a potty break, and "give her some love" while we were away. Chris was friendly, professional and accessible from the get-go. After reading Yelp reviews, I decided to contact her and she immediately got back to me. From the first day she came over to meet our little puppy, I could tell she loved dogs and was passionate about caring for them as if they were her own. Something I LOVE about her services is that I get a daily text update from Sam or Chris (whoever visits Rangeley that day) simply telling me how the visit went, and just plain "filling me in." I am extremely type-A and I have LOVED this. I even occasionally get cute photo pics from the ladies of Rangeley playing, doing something goofy, or just taking her walk. It ALWAYS brightens my day! Chris is also super flexible and wonderful about last minute changes to our schedule, or life events that "trip up" the regular routine; my husband and I recently had to get new flooring installed and we found ourselves needing to board Rangeley somewhere overnight. Scared to put our girl in a kennel even for a day, I texted Chris in the middle of the afternoon. I contacted Chris about my cats before leaving for a week-long trip overseas. I expected some basic cat-care services, but I got so much more out of the service that I'm still shocked about what happened: We have a cat that is very friendly but super shy and super timid. Chris sent a pet sitter named Lisa who somehow managed to get this cat out of her shell. After we came back, the cat was super lively and searching everywhere for Lisa. We saw her exploring the house like she never had before and searching everywhere (probably looking for Lisa.) It's like we got this whole new, lively, happier cat. We're very happy with the care our cats got, but excited over the fact that our cat's behavior has changed for the better. There are other positives about the service too. For example, we got photos of our pets through e-mail while we were gone. The service was top-notch and took some of the worries about traveling out of the picture. We've been using this service for more than a year now. The kids when to college and our job schedules changed, so we needed some help to keep Ginger happy. We started small with some occasional daily walking, but as life and work got more complicated, we've starting making use of overnight boarding, too. The service has been very reliable and consistent, and Ginger clearly loves it. While she was always pretty good on walks, now she stays right next to me all the time, which is an unexpected bonus. Chris just takes the food Ginger will need, and she brings in packages when she comes by the house, so it's all very easy and convenient. We found Chris in November 2013 when a change in work schedules necessitated a change to the routine we had in place for our mixed-breed dog Iso. From the first meeting, it was love at first sight for Iso, who greeted her with his favorite blanket and a request for a belly rub. Chris has been wonderful: she gives Iso the same love and attention she gives her own pack. A few weeks later when boarding arrangements we had for Iso fell through, she found us a wonderful place for Iso to stay at very short notice - Goldie and her person Trish welcomed Iso with tail wags and open arms. In January, and then again in February, Chris proved to be invaluable when Jennifer's mother was hospitalized: at very short notice Chris took care of Iso twice a day for multiple days and gave him the attention, belly rubs and walks that we were not able to. read more

We rescued our Luke last fall and even though he is 5 years old he has some bad habits of barking at people and other dogs when he is out for a walk.
