I am concerned about the maintenance cost and what I might have to do myself to minimize that cost. So I called around and was referred to a number of different companies. Spoke to two and was underwhelmed by the responses and overwhelmed by the estimated costs. And then upon a recommendation I called Swim King. Dennis Galderisi answered the phone and from his the very first words my anxiety came down. Dennis was absolutely great. He clearly knows everything to know about pools and he answered my many questions with tremendous patience. He addressed my cost concerns by suggesting a tailored maintenance approach to how we will use the pool and suggested a number of ways we could do some of the basics and save money. His approach and manner felt sincere and honest. My next step is to get to his store and meet him in person. I am comfortable that I have found a pool professional who I can trust.

I asked if I could get on the waiting list for next year and they still said no. I understand if their client roster is full but the way they communicated was really smug. I told them I live less than a five minute drive away and the guy said "our cut off is a 4 minute drive." Ok guy. We ended up buying overpriced supplies from them anyway and our pool water still went green. Just YouTube it and buy supplies off Amazon.

After receiving quotes from a handful of businesses in the area, we decided to hire MC Pools to…read morebuild our inground pool. Before we signed a contract or put down a deposit, Carl was patient and more than willing to answer our many, many questions and walk us through the process and options. He did a drawing of what we thought we wanted and when we wanted to make a few changes he quickly did it with no problem. Carl is very knowledgeable about not only what works best but also what looks best. We put a lot of trust in him as this is our first project of this kind and we're so glad we did. We never felt rushed or pressured or that we were being an inconvenience with our questions or changes. He is also very responsive, he never left us hanging, waiting for a response when we contacted him. One of the great things about MC Pools over other builders we contacted is that they have the ability to build the pool you want so you're not forced to pick something from a catalog. You can create a custom build like we did. Another positive, in my book, is that Carl includes (pretty much) everything in the quote, giving you the full picture of what the final cost will be. Other companies give quotes but don't add the other necessary items/services such as electrical, hauling away fill, etc so you think you're paying less but end up getting hit with costs you hadn't known about until later on. Carl adds all that in up front. Plus he included some things that other companies don't such as 2 lights for the pool, 2 skimmers, a safety cover and an upgraded handrail. *One huge bonus for us was the discount they offer for first responders (my husband is a volunteer firefighter).* The build itself was smooth and followed the timeline we were promised. When Carl came for his final walk-through to make sure we were happy I could not come up with a single thing I wasn't thrilled with (that's never happened to me before ). Every detail is perfect and our pool is gorgeous, we couldn't be happier. Details about the pool: it is 16 x 37 (with the bump outs). We added a bench seat to the bump out in the deep end (see picture) and we are SO glad we did, everyone loves it. It's a place to hang out while in the deep end and such a great feature. The kids especially love it because they can swim across and have somewhere to "land". It also doubles as a step to get out of the pool. We wanted a larger shallow end since we know that's where a lot of people hang out so we adopted for an extended shallow end (16 1/2 feet). The chlorine is salt water and we chose to have a cartridge filter and added a gas heater. The coping and concrete are stamped and dyed. Another detail worth mentioning, the contractors that MC Pools works with are top notch. The concrete company, Capital Concrete of Albany, went above and beyond to give us exactly what we wanted and helped us design and choose options when we asked for input without being pushy. They worked through the weekend to help get our project finished as soon as possible. The electrical company was also top notch. (I can't recall the name but I'll add it when I figure it out). We are SO glad we chose MC Pools for this large project, we couldn't be happier! Thank you, Carl!

Maintenance was a must condition since we were new pool owners, and they agreed to it. As soon as this guy connected all the pool equipment and declared everything was set, the motor/filter started leaking. He opened it, hammered something inside and outside, made some other quick changes and assured me that everything was fine. He promised that his wife would stop by and help with the pool app on my phone, as she was a pro and enjoyed doing it. He also offered to take a pool water sample and asked me to call in a day. I started calling them later the same day as I noticed that the filter started leaking again. The first two days I kept getting a nice voicemail promising a callback that never came. For several days after that I was finally talking to a live person who said that she could only take messages for them. I left many but NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK OR STOPPED BY and I had to hire another company that charged me more for emergency call. They discovered that some parts were damaged and fixed the problem efficiently. To my surprise, today, after almost a year of not hearing from Foxx Pools, we received an invoice from them demanding payment! They have the nerve to send a bill, along with penalties. 11 months since I last had any form of contact with anyone representing this company and no response from them whatsoever. Should be sued for their negligence instead of paying their invoice! It's no surprise that many people are complaining about them. Hope that potential clients read these reviews and avoid our mistake of contacting them.

Nejame went incommunicado, not responding to my many emails and phone calls, assuming no responsibility for the repair...he had been paid. I had to sue him and did after it became clear he had no intention of addressing this. Expert witnesses testified in deposition that the crushed stone he put beneath the pool construction was far too thin a layer and that's why the pool cracked - it had not been done to standard. After spending tens of thousands of dollars, I had a cracked nonfunctional pool which several other pool installers felt needed a complete excavation and replacement to repair. When the case finally came to court, at the courthouse, I was advised by my attorney to accept the small, token settlement Nejame offered because, even assuming I won the case, I would have great difficulty collecting. Defendant's attorney made clear to mine that Nejame's business would, and not for the first time, declare bankruptcy rather than pay. I agreed at his advice. In short, working with Nejame was an absolute nightmare!
