They're incredibly rude here. Asked if they could service my pool and they said no, they were too busy. Fine. I asked if I could get on the waiting list for next year and they still said no. I understand if their client roster is full but the way they communicated was really smug. I told them I live less than a five minute drive away and the guy said "our cut off is a 4 minute drive." Ok guy. We ended up buying overpriced supplies from them anyway and our pool water still went green. Just YouTube it and buy supplies off Amazon. read more

Swim King was great to work with. Gary was so helpful. I know nothing about pools so he helped me with the installation of a new pool liner and winter cover. The pool looks amazing now, like it belongs at a 5 star hotel! I will be using them for all my pool needs from now on! read more

Back in 2020 when the pandemic was new and really scary and no one was going anywhere on vacation that summer we decided to buy a pool. Apparently we weren't the only one with that idea. They had none in stock but were expecting deliveries in August. We'll the factory shut down and twenty months later the pool is in my backyard waiting for the i talkers to set it up. If this had been in any other time this would be considered insane and poor customer service. But, we were in the heart of the COVID 19 panic. The guys at this location were always apologetic, polite, friendly and would always take my call and go over the status of my order. Rude! The guy I spoke to said that I have to physically come into their office to discuss getting a quote. He said he simply won't discuss it over the phone. Does he speak this way to everyone or just women? I would understand if they needed to come out to my property to assess the situation and give an accurate quote based on the dynamics of the property, that makes sense. But they don't come out. They require you to physically come to their office in order to discuss getting a pool and hot tub installed. Who has time for this?? read more

Just had a new roller for pool cover installed since it was broken when the pool was closed last fall by swimking. The roller was listed on the web for $665 -- I got charged $999!!. Usually have had good service from these guys but this is just unbelievable. I guess they are on the inflation train. read more

I was going to buy a hot tub from them and when the owner wrote out my contract he refused to distinguish which one I was had ordered on the paperwork. He also gave me a receipt that showed no description or product i.d. # as to what I ordered. It only said SPECIAL ORDER,​ CUSTOM ITEM, and that all special orders were nonrefundable​! When I questioned this, I was treated rudely and told that I would be a problem. He said he would not do business with me. I feel like I was going to be taken for a switch and bait. Beware of them! Bought a great pool robot, the Hayward AquaVac 500, 4 years ago. It's really a great robot, cleans the whole pool at the push of a button, never a complaint. I've saved thousands in pool maintenance visits. The best part? When it needs service, as machines will need from time to time, they service it right there on premises, under warranty, no charge, with parts from the manufacturer, in a reasonable time frame. I cannot say enough about the help that I received from Gary, one of Swim King's owners, for the work he did on a Hayward pump for me. I had ordered it from Amazon and unfortunately it came with a standard 3 prong power cord plug and I have a twist lock receptacle. He immediately switched the old power cord with the new one and also moved over the hose adapters. He even moved the angle of the pump's water return feed to match the old one. To top it off, Gary refused to take any payment for the work that he had done for me. Over the course of the summer he also proved us valuable over the phone advice on replacement pool liners and skimmer boxes. I am a VERY satisfied customer!! read more

I have been a customer for 15 years. I live in Southern dutchess County and chose to still use them when though they were in UlsterCounty. Recently I needed an estimate for someone i knew to rebuild their pool, all new pool pumps, heaters, and salt water generator. I called and left a message to speak with Steve Jr., who is now owner since his father passed. I have worked with him in the past with no issues. However, this time I never received a call back. I called back the next day and was told he wasn't in and they had left a message for him to call me. Needless to say, he still hasn't called 4 days later. In the meantime, the gentleman who answers the phone told me to hold on a moment. When he got back on the phone he told me they were not interested in the job, that Steve Jr. Had told another partner he didn't want job. At this point, I am so confused because I never spoke to other partner or Steve Jr as to what had to be done, how can they make that decision. He became rude and hung up!! I was flabbergasted to say the least. I could not believe what had just happened, and to be honest, still not sure. I referred this company to everyone, as a matter of fact a very close friend of mine was to use them currently. I am sure when Steve Sr. Was alive, this is not the legacy he wanted to leave. The 2013 review holds true today: Don't expect service after you've dropped $$ on product (in our case, thousands on a hot tub and a pool cover). I paid a deposit in March to have the pool opened and serviced. In April I got a call from one of the owners asking for an opening date in late April; we were having excavating done so I said any time after May 20 would work. A week or so after May 20, having not heard from them, I called and was told they make the schedule a day or two ahead of time and they'd call. June 8 I called again, and was told my work order said that I "would call when ready." They got the info wrong, twice. Instead of apologizing, the guy on the phone told me not to yell, asked if I wanted to talk to the owner (who didn't bother getting on the phone), and then returned to the phone and told me they weren't going to open the pool. read more

I truly believe SwimKing takes full advantage of the uneducated new pool owner. They are extremely unprofessional from the service workers to the owners. I used them for a pool opening but never again will I use their products or services. I have to vehemently disagree with the negative review below. I bought a hot tub from them in 2011, and bring my water in regularly to be tested, I've never had a problem. Installation was flawless, including electric, and I always ask questions and always get a quick and accurate reply. I've never felt an up-sell of any type. Once when a neighbor's tree fell in my yard in the winter and cut off my power, they came up to my house and pumped it for me so it wouldn't freeze (I'm a weekender, it would have been a disaster). After I showed up a little bit after close one day and the place was locked, they told me to call ahead next time and they'd wait for me. When I walked in to buy a hot tub they were all smiles. Not so helpful since. Quite the contrary, after paying them to "winterize" my hot tub, none of the jets worked in the spring. The service department and the manager were rude and abrupt and offered no suggestions. Rather, they were defensive and only said that I could pay $175/hour for a service appointment. I looked online later and found the answer--their service person unloosened all the jet nozzles when he serviced the tub. What a racket!!!! Run don't walk to a better retailer who honors their customers investment into their business. read more
