Recently upon visiting our vacation rental I found our spa was leaking badly and half full. I sent out a quote request through Yelp and Stephen answered it pretty quickly. He said he could service it that same morning. I was so relieved as it was a Saturday and the only other person responding at that time couldn't do it. I wasn't able to meet him out there because I had my daughters birthday party that day. I am one that prefers to be onsite when I have someone coming to fix something but I didn't really have a choice since we had new guests coming in that afternoon. Within 20 min of giving the address Stephen was able to locate the problem and sent pictures of what was wrong. After fixing it he checked a few other things and filled it back up and sent over pictures of the finished job. He charged me for the flat service fee that was quoted and was on his way. I felt so relieved it was all taken care of and by the time our guests arrived they had a nice hot spa waiting for them. No notice before showing up (even though we have a people-reactive dog and told them in advance to warn us). The tech backwashed directly into our yard, ignoring the clean-out 15 feet away, then tossed in only 3 chlorine tabs. That's it. When I called, I got a lukewarm apology and was told the same level of service we used to get would now cost double. They didn't address the algae issue we already had, so I ended up doing it myself. I cancelled after one week. Then came the multiple payment demands for that single week, before the invoice was even due. Not local (based in Flagstaff), overpriced, and unprofessional. Pool Daddy refered me to Dennis to set up my above ground pool. They told me he is the person they use for all of there above ground pool set up. He completely ruined the pump set up. I am having to have it all redone. Water pouring out everywhere. From all the connections when I turn on the pump. The electrical system was not hooked up at all and was not explained to me properly. Using an outdoor cord almost burned out the motor. The pump should have been set up with a grounded line. Pool Daddy's response is pretty much "Oh well". Now I found the full cam of foam that was supposed to be used in between the wall and the liner. FULL!!! The pool will have to be emptied, taken apart and reassembled and refilled. I first of all want to start off by stating that I regret having to take this route. I do however feel that an informed decision when making choices about services that you are paying your hard earned money for is necessary. Since July of last year, we have paid Pool Daddy for weekly service on our pool that was built in 2019 in our brand new house. Sometime last year over the winter, a leak started on our pool equipment that we didn't notice as it was winter.. who swims in the winter? Regardless, part of the service that we were supposed to be receiving on a weekly basis was making sure that our equipment was working properly. This did not happen, which caused damage to our pump / motor. (Found out today that we needed to replace - $1,500.00 +, which Pool Daddy said they fixed - they stated, for free (after me receiving an invoice for the repairs and complaining for them to credit) But if your neglect to check my equipment caused the extensive damage, why would I have to pay for it? and you stated that the motor was fine). For the last couple of weekends, I have noticed an extensive amount of salt in the bottom of my pool. I expressed my concerns to Steven and at first he told me it was dust particles as it has been windy lately; correct me if I am wrong, but isn't dust brown? What is in my pool is white. He told me he would take a sample of my water and have it tested because he didn't trust his methodology of testing. He took a sample and didn't have it tested for 5 days- after I went and had my water tested 2 hours before he did (I knew based on past experiences that he wouldn't get it done). His sample was 5 days old. The only reason I received a report of a sample test from Pool Daddy on my water that was done at 5:56 PM today at a Leslie's that is 11 miles away from my house was because I sent them an email at 4:45 PM today with my results of pool water that was 5 minutes old versus the sample that they had that was 5 days old. By the way, Leslie's told me that it was likely that there were too many chemicals added to my pool and to fix that, I needed to drain my pool and start over. I have expressed my concerns to Pool Daddy about the condition of my water. I have paid for service through the end of June and instead of fixing the problem with my pool, they elected to let me know that they will not come back to my home and have decided to refund me the money that I paid for the month of June. When you consider a company to provide service for your pool, please understand that Pool Daddy is horrendous at communication, rarely to never answering the phone if you have an issue, and not showing up on the day that you are scheduled for service. . Admittedly, your first line of communication with them will be exemplary, but after they get your business, forget about it. Most businesses are quick to try to defend themselves and blame the customer for issues, but I am that one that anticipates issues and takes precautionary measures; I have two cameras in my backyard that face the pool and 4 other cameras around my home that catch everything. I can rewind up to 30 days and routinely as a habit save the footage monthly for situations like this. I have video of the service that they state is provided as opposed to what you actually receive and am more than willing to share with any and every potential customer. I am certain that they will try to come up with some type of response to place blame on me for the condition of my pool as well as possibly uploading photos of my pool that they took while it is running and circulating the water to obstruct the appearance of the excessive salt in my pool, but I am well prepared with video and photo evidence that is date and time stamped of what happens EVERY time they come to a customers home. Save your money,time and frustrations..DO NOT USE POOL DADDY. Oh and in addition, they have raised their rate from $105.00 to $120.00 per month and are now charging in addition to that, the cost of chemicals. You will be charged twice monthly. I have a copy of a report from Leslie's showing an asinine amount of salt in my pool - over 5,000 PPM VERSUS THE RECOMMENDED 3,000 TO 3,500 PPM as well as the levels of 5 other issues out of 10 (A Total of 6 markers out of balance on the list from Leslies) since using Pool Daddy. As stated, my review is to inform. If you are comfortable with a person that is cowardly and refuses to answer your calls, in addition to causing damage to your pool and not providing the service and communication that is promised...go with Pool Daddy. read more

I had used them for major pool service a few months back and left a positive write up shown below. I wanted monthly pool service over the summer and requested a one-time service to bring the pool up to speed after the winter. When the tech left that night, the pool strainer was not sealed and blowing major air bubbles into the pool causing the pump to cavatate that could have damaged the pump. I brought this issue up to the company and expressed my concern if the rest of the service was performed correctly so Steve came out to make sure the rest of the service was OK that included a backwash valve. When I called to begin a schedule, Steve gave me two other companies to call and said they couldn't add another pool at that time. The pool does needs renovation so maybe that is an issue? read more

We required all the following: complete chip out, bond coat, tile replacemment, pebbletec resurface, pool pump, new skimmer,new pool light, new pool cleaner, deck restoration and new pool auto water leveler installed. Pool Daddy's execution of all this was fast and flawless. Completed within upfront estimate and timeline. George communicated with us every step of the way keeping us up to date on all phases of the restoration and George was very flexible allowing us to pay in increments along the way. I can't say enough about George's patience and ability to break down the entire process to us and help to understand all the steps involved. We were so impressed with Pool Daddy it was a no brainer to continue our relationship with them by hiring them to provide weekly pool service afterwards. It has been running 24/7. I should have cut my losses a lot sooner. THU OCT 21 - EMIAL Waited another full day for them to show up. NO RESPONSE! Emailed them to cancel service. OCT 15 - EMAIL Asked AGAIN for our Pentair to be programmed. Informed them if they could not do the job, I would reach out to Pentair. They confirmed for SAT OCT 16. NO SHOW JUN 2 - EMAIL Confirmed a technician to be out the week of June 7 (no one ever came) MAY 31 - EMAIL Followed up on alkaline issue AND Pentair MAY 14 - EMAIL Asked again for our Pentair to be programmed. APR 16 - Asked technician again about the Pentair. MAR 19 - Asked tech if he could program our Pentair. He said he could not, would send a technician. read more

Unreliable. The guy that is supposed to do weekly service on our pool sometimes shows up, sometimes not, but the last couple of times he skims the top and that is it. If anything is on the bottom of the pool he can't be bothered. The pics show the pool literally as he walked out the gate from "cleaning". Usually, I won't hire a business that has multiple one star reviews so I was reluctant about hiring Pool Daddy to replace my dead auxiliary pump. But after talking to various companies, I found office manager Kim at Pool Daddy to be the most professional and responsive. She promptly and patiently answered all my questions. When I expressed concern about the one star reviews, Kim nondefensively went through each one with me, explaining the circumstances. She said she has been the new office manager for just four months and told me the new procedures she has implemented. She followed up with installer Cody as to when he would be coming and let me know when he was on his way. I found Cody to be a very efficient and personable installer. I had lots of options for hiring and I spoke to numerous companies. Kim's standout professionalism made all the difference in my decision to hire Pool Daddy. read more

This box of rocks of an owner has horrific customer service. He installed a new variable speed motor that is absolute garbage (and installed incorrectly). Now that I have had an actual pool company maintain my pool.. I was just told that this "Pool Daddy" had filled my salt tank with too much salt and now have to drain the entire pool because the levels are so skewed. He may possibly be the worst contractor in the valley. Please be aware before trusting him with any projects with your pool. Took my money. No Work Performed. This company quoted me to do work on my pool. I paid them $900. Then they attempted to nearly double the price before they started. When I wouldn't let them double the price, they kept my money but didn't do any work. They held on to my money for over a year until I contacted the ROC. The investigator thought Pool Daddy's conduct was so bad, he suggested I contact Phoenix police. Even worse, it turns out this business was engaged in unlawful contracting without a license. If they would have disclosed that they lacked a license to do the work I paid them for, I never would have hired them. They concealed that for a year. Started out with great tech and customer. After about a year tech was changed. Next tech let back gate unlocked and partially opened. Our home is located right off 43rd Ave and Glendale. Have 4 pups, got luckly and dogs did not get out. Talked to owner. Today another new rep showed up, we were told service day would be TU, but this rep showed with no prior notice, our dogs ran out of the house, and once again almost got out. Rep did not come to fromt door, and I work at home. This rep also left gate unlocked and left. We had appt date and times when no rep showed. Broken pool equipment. Zeb is not only punctual, he is polite and respectful. He has done an amazing job with keeping up with the chemicals and cleaning the pool of debris. Had booked an apt with this company last week, and I had asked for a time frame. The day before my scheduled install I still hadn't gotten a reply from them to let me know what time they'd be here. I sent them a message the night before and at 10 pm they advise they'll be at me place between 12-5. After waiting all day, he ended up not showing up after having me wait for 5 hours today. They came out twice on two separate occasions thinking it was a new pool situation each time. When they came out the 2nd time, they guy said, "Oh, I've seen this pool before!". And in neither case did they offer a quote. Apparently they didn't need the work. I guess, at the time, there was plenty of low hanging fruit projects, and didn't want to do a project that required getting their hands dirty.
