Kelley has been taking care of my pool and spa for over 10 years and I have consistently found him to be personable, honest, reliable, efficient and an all around nice guy. He is an expert technician who has always been able to repair any problems I've had with my filters, pumps, motors or water lines over the years, and to do it with an eye toward saving me money. For example, when my old Kreepy Krauly started to fail and I was certain I was going to need a new one, Kelley was able to keep it working properly long past its prime. And by whatever magic touch he has, he has also managed to keep my pool motor, which is getting pretty ancient, humming along as well. Moreover, Kelley has never pressured me to buy anything and his monthly service charge is reasonably priced. Beyond that, as an aside, I must also confess that I have become quite fond of Gordon, Kelley's Vice-President of Public relations. While I wouldn't normally say this about another male, Gordon is VERY cute. And when he rubs his body against mine it just melts my heart. But most impressive is that despite his high status in the organization, I have always appreciated that Gordon has never peed on my plants -- oh, here and there perhaps a little tinkle on a bush or two, (I pretend not to notice), but never on the plants. And how sweet is that!! But to return to the primary focus of this review, I have enlisted the services of several pool maintenance companies over the last twenty-two years that I have had my pool and spa, and Kelley is by far the best. And with all seriousness I highly recommend him not only for his expertise and the quality of his workmanship, but for his integrity as well. In 2009 our 20 year pool needed new equipment. Kelley gave us a fair estimate for it's remodeling. But he excelled when installing the excellent equipment with expertise and concern for our needs. Well, he impressed us so much that we asked him to do our pool service. He is excellent. I have not had any major issues since his installation. Very weird exchange with Kelley today. I would say I've had experiences that are similar to all of the reviews posted already. Three years ago Kelley sold and installed a variable speed pump for me. He had some trouble and had to return to complete the installation. He was professional and invoiced me for the bid amount (plus an additional part that was needed). I thought he was on deck and on duty and worked diligently until it was complete. I was satisfied with the install. If I had written a review back then it probably would be at least a four star. Fast forward to this week. The pump quit working and I called Kelley for repair. He asked a few questions about the symptoms and then was going to call the manufacturer for tech support. After not hearing from him I tried numerous calls to reach him leaving two messages. Late today I called again and he picked up. He told me that Karma was a bitch and he remembers me well (after looking at notes from my invoice) and claimed that he thinks I arbitrarily partial paid him and wouldn't pay him the full amount and he added that he thinks I never paid him at all. I tried to let him know that I think he is remembering the wrong customer. But he said he wasn't about to help me with my problem. (I really doubt that he would have never called or written or stopped by to collect an unpaid amount.) After our conversation, I went back through my bank's bill pay and sure enough found the check I had sent to him. It was for the full amount of his invoice and cleared within the week of his installation. Anyway you can see why all of the reviews are accurate. Pool Service Technicians defines outstanding customer service. We had an issue with a heating sensor, and Kelley came out within twenty minutes - on a Saturday afternoon. This was really great, specifically since we were only in California for only a few days before returning to the "arctic" conditions of Chicago and losing our opportunity to enjoy the spa! Since he didn't have the necessary part with him, he returned on a SATURDAY NIGHT TO COMPLETE THE FIX!!! We were blown away and incredibly grateful that we were able to enjoy the hot tub on our few days in California. I ordered cleaning filters for my pool when Kelley suggested that this may be the reason my water was not filtering properly. While he was at my house he seemed very nice and knowledgeable so I will give credit for that. I had to leave and go out of town for a few days. I spoke with him and he told me he would be back to ensure the flowing pressure improved. Instead the filters were dropped off at my neighbors. When I called him to request he install the filters he became very rude, arrogant, and argued that my regular pool man could do it. Kelley said he would charge me an additional service fee if he came out. My regular pool guy told me that he had never heard of someone just dropping off products and not installing them. When I mentioned to Kelley that my regular pool guy said he should do it Kelley became belligerent and made fun of my pool man. He refused to install them or even come back to see if new filters would help with the pressure problem. Unsure of who is right or wrong in this instance I telephoned other pool maintenance companies and asked them what was their policy. They said they would definitely install the filters for any person purchasing them from their company. So if u use him ask him if he guarantees his work and have it in writing he will install supplies that u purchase. The following week my regular pool guy installed the filters and said to me " I don't mind doing it for you, it's just the principle of it." read more

I've used Kelley from Pool service technicians a few times. He was always pleasant and seemed to know what he was doing. I bought a new 2 speed pool pump from him in 2009 and paid him $1358.19 to install it. In May of 2014, the motor went bad and I bought a new motor from him and paid him $633.309 to install it. He told me it had a 2 year warranty and put it in writing on the invoice. Last month, in November of 2015, the replacement motor went bad. I called Kelley to get the motor replaced under warranty, got no answer, and left a message. I called and called and called, but got no reply. I emailed him. No reply. I waited, in case he was sick or on vacation. Called many more times. No reply. Then I tried to get other service persons to do the warranty work and they were not able to honor my warranty I had in writing. So now I have a new multispeed pump in place to the tune of $2400. Not sure whats going on with Kelley but I can no longer recommend him as someone I'd let do any pool service work for me. Let the buyer beware... read more
