What a scam. I scheduled an appointment for them to fix few things that I was told were under…read morewarranty, one of which was a loud buzzing noise from my Hayward C200S filter housing. Tech said this is a super common issue and just overall bad design as the rubber end cap eventually forms holes/cracks so it no longer seals properly. This filter was just over a hear old, but he replaced the filter element and it fixed the issue. Then to my surprise I get a random invoice for almost $260 for the filter and install labor, when there was zero conversation or consent given for this non warrantied service. I spoke with Kevin the store manager from the Lakewood Ranch store who told me that according to his tech he did discuss with me, which is totally false. His solution was to just apologize and come get their now used filter and give me back mine, that basically they did nothing wrong. Then on top of it they were supposed to fix one remaining issue they missed on their original appointment and the tech said he was told to just install my old filter and leave. Again very poor communication as Kevin said nothing about cancelling this follow up call. I merely told him that in the future I wouldn't be a customer do theirs and he assumed this name to just cancel anything pending, instead of asking.

Thankfully, Elite Pool Designs put all of our fears to rest thanks to their amazing customer service, fair prices and excellent, high quality work. We previously had a koi pond in our backyard but, as the fish died out, realized we wanted something else back there instead. We reached out to Elite Pool and Cyndi and she came over the next day to assess our yard. As we had no idea where to start, she helped guide us through the whole process, connecting us with surveyors, tree removal experts and all of the other hidden things you don't think about when you decide "I want a pool". After the work to get the yard ready was done, we went to the Elite Pool offices to pick out the tile, lining and design of the pool. Cyndi walked us through the shape and features we wanted, and provided a very reasonable quote for everything, including, automation, a heater for the pool (hey it DOES sometime get cold here!) and a screen enclosure. Construction for the pool started in October 2024 and finished in late January 2025, and our hat goes off to Robert (owner of Elite Pool) for his help with managing the entire project. Crews arrived as needed and on time, and though there were some periods between steps where not a lot of work was being done, it was never unreasonable and given the holidays, totally fair. Inspection and electrical were simple and easy and now we are ready to enjoy our pool! For anyone in our same position, looking to install a pool from scratch but not sure where to turn, Elite Pool Design should be your first call, can't recommend them highly enough!

They took over one year to complete my pool, when they promised at contract signing that it would "only take a few months". Completion should have been in June, but didn't happen until 10/31. Lots of blaming the county, blaming other contractors, blaming Ian (which happened a few years earlier), etc, etc. The workers just show up unannounced, which is alarming when they appear in your backyard without prior notice. Once the pool cage was up, they'd also just walk right on in. Extremely unprofessional for them to not bother knocking on the door to alert you they are there to work. Shoddy work (one part has failed twice already). They also don't know how to get the control panel to work with the app (which the sales guy said was "so easy to do"). This company has also called me a liar to prospective new customers. It's extremely unprofessional for them to do that. If any of you all want proof, I have tons of email and text trails showing that this company royally sucked and didn't do their job professionally, nor on time. And to call me a liar for letting the world know about the terrible experience I had...they are horrific. When you have loads of negative reviews about a company, it really tells the story. And that story is .... *THIS COMPANY IS THE PROBLEM*, not me or anyone else that's trying to warn you to stay away from them.

Unfortunately the pool has a severe problem with SCALE, which is due to improper chemistry. Rob from Ocean Blue came out said this could be resolved with chemical treatments for several months (two independent assessments by professionals felt the only solution is to drain the pool and acid wash at a cost of $1800) Shortly after moving in I also had to replace the heat exchange coil because of failure due to calcium (scale) buildup ($4500) Clearly OB failed to pay close attention to the chemistry. Unlike most pool companies they only use chemistry test strips rather than reagents. When I asked Rob why? His response is they have to many pools and not enough time to use reagents - hmm.. Not a reassuring answer. I would strongly advise against using Ocean Blue because the quality of their services is clearly sub par and there was a total lack of empathy or accountability for the problems they caused.

We engaged Blue Tropix to resurface the pool with excellent results (see photo). The process was explained and when the resurfacing was completed they did the startup as well, which is important.
