We booked and had our reservations confirmed on Monday for a family trip. Yesterday we received an…read moreemail that our reservation was canceled due "owner being in town" therefore needing our confirmed and paid for dates. Not only did they cancel our reservations under false pretenses but the cottage was reopened for those dates at a rate double the price. We have contacted the bnb service site in which this unfortunately seems to not be the first time this has happened to hard working renters trying to book vacations. Renters beware. when contacted property management told the owners wanted the property for our booked dates therefore kicking us out of our confirmed reservations, but then less than 2 hours later it was reposted for over 400 a night. not only that but we were hung up on numerous times when trying to figure out why were canceled with our reservations only to find it listed higher rates. Renters beware of this as not only did we lose our service charge paid but we as a family had to find another rental another property. I would not recommend this property.

Unfortunately it was located exactly above the garbage dumpsters which were emptied six days a week between 4 am and 7 am, which meant that sleeping late was not an option. Bella was very accomodating with our situation, even trying to find us alternate units which unfortunately were not suitable or cost more. In the end, we stayed and they refunded us a portion of our cost. I would recommend Bella. I would not recommend Sugar Beach 153.

Old school, old cool... what Gulf Shores used to be like 30 or 40 years ago…read more We love Regatta Condominiums, and return every year. The building itself is wooden. Not a concrete monstrosity like every other high-rise condo on the beach - it's wooden and only 4 stories tall, and that includes the parking on the ground level. And probably 30 or 40 years old. This means several things - first, it's withstood several hurricanes. Second, it's old cool. Just a quick walk to the Hangout, and a short drive to Gulf Shores park, pier and Zip The Gulf ziplines. 20 minutes to FloraBama, which is the best. Condos are 1,2, 3 and 4 bedrooms, and rentals are available. It isn't the Ritz, but there is a nice pool in the middle of the U-shaped building. Some of the condos are a little 1980's dated decorating, but that adds to the old school cool. They building is very well maintained. 100' deep, phenomenal white sand beach right in front, with sand dunes and sea grass for family photos. If you can afford it, rent a beach front unit, which have great balconies facing the sand. Full kitchens. Owners differ, so the interior, beds, cooking utensils, etc. will vary. Personally, I hate the huge concrete high-rises. We've stayed in several, and I don't enjoy them. We come to Gulf Shores because it's relaxed and casual and like much of the Gulf used to be 20 or 30 years ago. So is Regatta, and that's why we stay here. Really great place... TIP - if you're coming in high tourist season, book early. The good units rent months and months in advance.

Three hours later we called again - the room was clean and ready. When we got to the room, there were parts of ceiling on the bathroom floor. We called the office. The maintenance guys came and said that they cleaned this apartment yesterday and everything was fine. Looks like the apartment was ready when we called for the first time, but people were just ignorant and careless. They didn't know anything about our request to stay in the building on the beach as well. Very disappointing Memorial Day weekend.The place is filth.

I redownloaded the whole Yelp app just to copy my review to warn others…read more It's 2:38 AM and I can't sleep due to seeing 5-6 roaches in a short time frame and mouse droppings, not to mention my feet were DIRTY from walking on the floors for three hours. I've escalated the issue to Airbnb due to the host not being able to accommodate us another unit with our specific ADA needs (understandably, I don't expect them to have something so specific on a whim) but I DO expect a clean place to stay. They offered us a refund to leave (before I found the mouse poop) but it was 10 PM and we're 8 hours from home?????????????????? 0/10 do not recommend unless you like sleeping with a family of roaches, maybe even mice. I would not eat off of ANYTHING in this house and I'm SO grateful we grabbed paper plates before we ate pizza. Update: they sent someone to spray the house and "clean up the mouse droppings." They vacuumed up the mouse droppings with no proper sanitation. I am in a war with the property over the cleaning fee. They believe since we had "clean sheets" and the counters were wiped off it was "clean". Mouse droppings are not clean. I was rude with the customer service rep after he proceeded to ask us why we stayed if we thought it was so gross. I reported the events all immediately as I found them around 10-11 PM timeframe after arriving at 8:30 PM. He then wanted to "please don't yell at me Maam" like he didn't just ask an extremely offensive question. Not to mention, my boyfriend had 3 hours of sleep the night prior due to work, not the companies problem, but also another reason we could not leave the night we arrived. We had one person sleep in their car and two others were going to, but found other arrangements. I asked him if he considered that clean in his house? We have a father who has specific ADA needs, we can't pick up and leave 8 hours away from home at 11 PM???? We did immediately find a new Airbnb this morning and White Shores is trying to hold onto my cleaning fee. I am appalled at how the owner handled this over a cleaning fee when we had four major issues in 3 hours of arriving due to CLEANLINESS, HEALTH, AND SANITATION. But according to the owner, mouse droppings and dirty floors is clean so WE get to pay to have the dirty house actually cleaned after the WORST 12 hours on a vacation. I can only assume he thinks that is also clean in his place of residence, which is disgusting. We were HAPPY to vacant the premises after we found more mouse droppings and informed the host. They asked us to vacant immediately like we were waiting on them when we were literally just waiting for our next request to be approved.

Our vacation rental was outstanding, and when we needed a slow cooker, they happily had one on hand that they *delivered* to us in less than 30 minutes. Nothing fancy, but again, the views from the 19th floor were worth it! The hallway at the elevators is small and you have to get a buggy or cart for your luggage. Was chaotic during check-in and check out times. The pool was nice and often not overly crowded. The security walks regularly to make sure no one is there that shouldn't be. The beach was great. Crowded but not terribly so. Great seashell hunting!!! Biggest negative thing for me, on night two we walked to the beach to look for crabs and shells. We left our shoes along the wooden walkway, along with several others, and my discontinued croc sandals and my daughter's Birkenstocks were STOLEN. My husband's sandals were moved from atop of ours, so it was an obvious intentional theft.
