He is too young to be microchipped so we were in an absolute panic that even if he was alright, that we wouldn't be able to find him. I volunteer at the Spartanburg Humane Society and have learned some about them whenever I'm able to…read morego and spend a few hours over there. They really do try to do their best to make their dogs adoptable. Upon intake, they see a vet, get their shots, get spayed/ neutered, get washed etc. They have even started doing some training with the dogs so they learn basic commands. Some dogs will have stars on their kennel to indicate what level of training they have achieved. They also do some muzzle training and socialization with dogs that were not socialized as puppies. The first 6 months of a dogs life are very important for this so if that window is missed, additional training is necessary. All dogs are walked at least three times a day and usually extra by volunteers. They also go outside for playgroups twice per day. If you get an opportunity, I would go watch a playgroup and actually get to know the dogs. I saw another review that stated that all the dogs were vicious and lunging at her children as they walked past. This is simply not the case. Many of the dogs are just very excited to see humans walking by their kennel. Get them outside and they'll be as sweet, and lovey as can be. Adoption fees are ridiculously cheap here and they include shots etc. All you have to do is make sure that you buy heartworm protection upon adopting. It's totally irresponsible to NOT buy heartworm protection so it just makes sense. They post their adoptable dogs on petango and on their website. I also try to post any dogs I play with to my instagram page to make sure that the word gets out about them.

Tina's was one of the few places I found that would take care of a bird. I originally booked her for three days in July for a wedding, but the emergency required me to use her service for a total of two and a half weeks (before and after the time I already reserved). At the initial visit, I was told they bring in mail and take out trash (included), but they didn't take the trash out (for two weeks). The twenty-minute visits soon became seven-minute stops. When I asked if she could stay a few minutes to talk to my bird, the owner said that would be extra and I needed to book the thirty-minute visit. She charged to create an invoice, to come at 7am (before office hours), to come on a holiday, to run to the store for veggies (I left money to buy the veggies, this was a trip charge), and to return my keys. Then, when I requested a refund for the last shift, she said I didn't cancel the appointment in time. I notified her twice through her own portal. But that wasn't the same as saying the word "cancel", yet no one showed up for the last shift. She kept stating she was doing be a favor, squeezing me in, and maybe I should just hire a teen, but that would be sketchy. I know I won't be hiring her next time!
