Soooo I did a dumb thing... I locked my keys in my running car at 10:00 at night. Pop-A-Lock to the rescue! I called my road side assistance and they told me that they would dispatch a locksmith. Literally within 15 minutes a pop-a-lock truck pulled up! I was so happy and relived. The reason for my review is because the NICEST and FRIENDlIEST gentleman was there to assist. The gentleman's name was Tony. He was so fast and helpful and was in and out in no time. Being a woman stranded on the side of the road in my pajamas at 10 at night is scary. Tony was hands down the best of the best. Thank you Tony! You saved the day and got me home safely in no time and I'm so grateful. Extremely slow, while they advertise 30-40 minutes they actually have no intention of actually showing up in that timeframe. Very slow service and deceptive phone operators. I called them for assistance, and after 1 hour of waiting I called back, and they informed me that the technician would call me and say where he is. Of course, this did not happen so I called back again 15 minutes later, where I was told the technician was only just now on the way, 75 minutes after my original call. The technician was then 35 minutes away, and I received service 110 minutes after my original call. Go somewhere else that will actually give you a real timeframe. read more

Pert of the reason that there are so many companies with low ratings is that people who are satisfied with service, expect it and do not take the time to review the services for the benefit of others. We have just utilized this service through the Glen Burnie office, and Darrell, out technician was an excellent find. He was early, called in advance, demonstrated what he would do, completed the task in a timely (45 min) fashion, and set up payment and receipt in a jiffy. Basically, I was out of my car for a week having lost my key, called around, and arranged for a recommended freelancer to come and provide a replacement key/transponder. That gentleman showed up and after fifteen minutes, he revealed that he could not get through to GM for the key code. I was frustrated and called Pop-A-Lock. Disgusting service. Called got a wait time of 30-40 minutes. Called to check the status 40 minutes later and was told that it would take another 45 minutes to an hour. What a disgrace. Call AAA or someone else. read more

I'm really surprised at the lack of customer service and the bad business practice. I've used pop-a-lock in savannah, GA and had a great experience. So it was a no brainier to use them to change the locks on my home in Baltimore. I'm in the military and stationed in GA and needed to get my home rekeyed after the tenant moved out. I was promised a call back 3 times and never received 1. Not sure why there are no repercussions for this but the customer service rep on the 3rd call advised that she sent a message and there is nothing else she could do, if he didn't call me. That's a shame and that's a poor business practice to have. read more

After this and my AL review posted, I got a call from owner Frank McGrath who offered to come over and fix the situation. Rather, he came to my house with the keys to our locks, showed me they worked for my home, and then told me he'd be happy to repair damage and discount my bill, if I took down my reviews. I told him that was an inappropriate request given what occurred in my home. He proceeded to then bill us for a full service with no amendments for any of the trouble he put us through. It was clear to us that the priority for this guy is not the quality of service or care for his customers, but the glowing reviews (note THREE yelp accounts for the same business). Little does he realize that its doing the right thing that earns the positive review and he missed out on it, twice. Please save yourself the headache, and blackmail. read more
