The locker room is well maintained Cons - management will push you to join and tell you about offers. Then they ll ignore those offers, so you need to keep on top of it. They said my join date is flexible but decided not to update my join date. Emailed them, and they took over a day to respond. Claimed they did it. But then, when you check your profile, they won't have done it. So you need to chase them and get it done - will offer you joining credits but won't actually add it. They ll also claim its available in the app, but it won't be there. You go back and forth. Now they told me they offer it but I have to call them and let them know what I want to purchase. - when I did the tour, the person giving me the tour mentioned 3 complimentary pilates reformer classes. I got none of that and now they said I can use the non-existent credits to buy those classes. Seriously, she made false offers So if you gotta be on top of the offers, they claim they will provide. Get it in writing. I'm not sure how I want to proceed with this gym. It's a great gym but not so trusting management.

The trainers don't reply in a timely manner and wait until 1 hour before a scheduled session to cancel on you. The design of the space is not good. Classes take place in the middle of the gym. Sauna does not get hot enough for any health benefits to actually kick in. You can hear the music from floor in the sauna. Not a relaxing experience at all. The equipment is fine. There are no leg machines but there are an insane amount of upper body machines.

I stayed a member for so long because it's a convenient walk from my house, but I recently left here to join the Life Time and I couldn't be happier. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly from my experience. The good: The pool. You really cannot get this anywhere else in/around Park Slope. That said, it is often crowded, with 4+ swimmers per lane, and the swim lane etiquette is not the best. They have lanes divided by speed - low, low/medium, medium, and fast - but basically I've found there is one fast lane, and all of the rest are slow. It feels like the fast-lane users are either former Olympic / Masters level swimmers, so I have to be in this awful position where I'm getting passed all the time in the fast lane, yet people get angry with me for going too fast in the other lanes. That's just my experience though. The bad: The free weight room. Basically, everything is overcrowded, and the etiquette is horrible. The free weight room has ONE power rack, which is insane for such a large gym. This is compounded by the hoards of teenagers that camp at the gym during peak time, sometimes leading to long queues to use any of the equipment. And the etiquette is some of the worst I have seen. People leave weights lying around on the floor or haphazardly put plates back wherever they feel, leading to a ton of clutter and general chaos. There is usually an attendant in the free weight room, yet they do absolutely nothing. Generally, the staff sucks. They do not greet you and just generally seem disinterested except when they are talking amongst themselves. The ugly: The locker rooms are just horrendous. Everything is filthy with dust everywhere. The lockers are super outdated, busted and rusting all over. There are often cockroaches in the dry sauna. But the worst is the showers. I think that was the final straw for me. It genuinely feels like a prison shower in that half the shower curtains are missing, and I even saw a bunch of blood on one of them. The ceiling is covered in mold; they don't even bother to paint over it. I don't need much, but I at least expect a clean and pest-free locker room. The state of it is shameful honestly. There is also no towel service, which is insane for how much you pay. Meanwhile, Harbor Fitness has towels, and the membership there is $76/month. All of this would be fine out of a low-cost, no-frills gym, but the cost of the regular individual membership is $96 per month, which is just out of line. The value is practically non-existent. They will also try to scam you when you try to cancel, saying there is a 15-day notice period, despite that being against the law in NYS. Bottom line, do yourself a favor and don't join this gym.

This gym is the best gym in the area by miles and I thoroughly enjoy my workouts here. Yoga classes are super fun, I love the instructors and unlike a lot of other gyms this place is truly home to a community. I enjoy seeing people of all ages and walks of life work out here, it's truly amazing and representative of the neighborhood. The high schoolers can be super annoying in the weight room and I know the staff has worked to curb their rowdiness by assigning them specific hours. I've heard a lot about towel service that used to be here but I've never experienced it, that would be nice to have back. The steam room and sauna are an absolute God send in the locker rooms and I really enjoy that the large pool has been segmented to avoid conflict with other swimmers. I've noticed if anything is out of order it doesn't stay that way for too long which I absolutely love. It's understandable in a big facility like this things will go out of order but maintenance is definitely on top of everything and deserves a shout out. It used to annoy me that the gym closed early but they definitely listened and extended their hours recently till 10 PM which I also greatly appreciate!!

When it comes to classes the gym has a hot yoga space, a cycling space, a barre/zumba/strength training space, as well as the turf which I mentioned above. There's something for everyone. If you want to just jam out on a peloton bike by your lonesome - have at it. Want to sweat to your hearts content? Get on an open stairmaster or do a solo lifting session with an open top quality squat rack. Seriously, you have options. Seeing as it's January, it's crazy packed during rush hour times but try coming on off hours if you're a member or interested in getting a tour of the gym. Sure, the noise level can be super annoying when there's a class being held on the turf but nothing noise cancelling headphones can't handle. Oh, and the steam room is dope. As I am an erg fanatic, I can say that the chain needs some oil. The monitor does not work . The tension control does not allow for a variety of settings . It slips. However, I can still find a way to work on my core , arms and legs. The gym has not been crowded which I like. There is a pool a steam room and a sauna. The exercise equipment room seems to be well equipped with several machines and weights. The staff is friendly. The gym overlooks the hudson so exercising is made easier due to the view, the pool has a top that opens when the weather is warm. There is an outdoor patio and a very large indoor lounge room. The hours are: Weekdays 6:30am-10:30 and 4:30-9:00pm weekends 9:30-6pm

Clear directions when you get there but the website needs to be more clear. It reads like suggestions rather than mandates. Not against the rules because there needs to be order but just make sure that the website clarifies the rules as requirements. Pool is in great condition, very clean, respectful workers who were kind enough to let me give my kids their towels before I went back to my car to wait for them. I only got one pic. Lots of parking if you get there timely. In my waiting, they closed to capacity based on the number of lifeguard to swimmer ratio. Well run.

The gym floor, locker rooms, and bathrooms are consistently well maintained, and they offer towel service, which is a nice bonus at this price point. The staff has been friendly and helpful whenever I've needed anything. It's definitely a little tight on space, but that's just part of being in the city. For what you're paying, the value is excellent, especially if you're not looking to spend $200+ a month on something like Equinox. I'll definitely be sticking with this location.

In a few words: stay away. I was a member of crunch for…read moreseveral years. I followed my trainer when he moved from one branch to another, even though it meant a longer trip for me. My trainer had been having issues with the first branch and he told me we'd be more comfortable at the new one. I believed him. Stupid me. My trainer routinely started late: anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. Foolishly, I put up with this. And, yes, management saw it and did nothing. If anything, other managers pulled him off the floor when he had sessions with me without apology. If I show up for a session half an hour late, I don't get that half hour added on to my time. On the other hand, if my trainer was late, I was expected to stay late. Management saw this. They did and said nothing, Par for the course. The trainer also did something else which is the reason why I left: Crunch has you sign a contract and pay for a certain number of sessions. Whey they're gone, you sign up for more. Sounds standard, right ? But wait. My trainer started asking me to sign up for lessons that were in excess of the contract. Foolishly, I went along. I must have accumulated over 100 lessons that I will not use. Why did I do that? Because at the time of signing up, he would get a commission. I added up the money: 12,000. dollars. Someone at the gym confirmed this This sort of behavior went on for some time. Then at the end of 2025, I suffered a severe accident. My doctors advised me that IF I could go back to the gym, it would be after a year of recovery. I told my trainer this as I recovered at home. I was unable to walk, or to read for more than 2 hours at a time . Now, other people I knew visited, sent flowers, sent cards, all the thingsyou do for someone who's severely injured. My trainer? He did not visit, he did not send flowers. What he DID was send me a package of sessions to sign up for: he needed the money. The fact that I'm out of service for at least ten months did not stop him. Foolishly, I signed up for them (I couldn't think. I had a brain injury WHICH HE KNEW). When others heard, I withdrew from this. Ultimately, no harm was created; however, a grown man tried to steal money from me (in excess of what he has already), knowing my health condition. Add this to everything else, and I left. I tried to speak to management. I was told that there was no one who could talk to me "but they'd try to find someone." I'm still waiting From what I understand the gym knows he does this sort of thing regularly and they haven't stopped it. I'm a fool for being caught up in it, but if I were you, I'd stay away from a gym which doesn't protect its membership from hustlers, and which lies about getting back in contact with unhappy members. The answer below paints a rosy picture. Don't believe it. Twelve emails and several phone calls later, no one can be bothered to answer. Four years of due payment on time, and then some. They'll treat you the way they treated and are treating me.
