As I am an erg fanatic, I can say that the chain needs some oil. The monitor does not work . The tension control does not allow for a variety of settings . It slips. However, I can still find a way to work on my core , arms and legs. The gym has not been crowded which I like. There is a pool a steam room and a sauna. The exercise equipment room seems to be well equipped with several machines and weights. The staff is friendly. The gym overlooks the hudson so exercising is made easier due to the view, the pool has a top that opens when the weather is warm. There is an outdoor patio and a very large indoor lounge room. The hours are: Weekdays 6:30am-10:30 and 4:30-9:00pm weekends 9:30-6pm

I have withnessed it personally with my seven year old son. He would patiently teach the swimming techniques and follow through with the repetitive strokes, whether it is free style, backstroke, breaststroke. Can you believe my son, who almost drowned last summer, can now swim freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke? I am very appreciative to Tommy and Seahorse Fitness. The facility is neatly setup with towel and shower stalls. The indoor pool is consistently about 75-78 degrees temperature all year round. There are lap swimming lanes and general swim sessions. All swimmers must use goggles and swim caps. The locker room is a little bit outdated, but I believe the primary focus is the teaching staff and lifeguards on duty. There is always a lifeguard everytime I visit. The instructors are very capable, friendly, patient and experienced. Each instructors have their own specialty. One teaches butterfly extremely well. It is hard to understand why because there are usually a bunch of attendants sitting around in the front at 11am but they never open the entrance gate til around 11:15/11:20am. Sometimes they have to wait for the police attendant to come. Once they do open, it is pretty fast to get inside. They look to make sure you have a lock. They require you to rinse off before going into the pool. On the deck, they don't allow you to wear anything besides a bathing suit or a white tee and flip flops. Not supposed to bring food, books or cell phone out.

The staff makes sure to harass you as much as they can, you aren't allowed to have fun, they have a problem with everything, no running, no jumping, no holding on to each other while swimming, phones must be in the locker and cannot be used in the pool deck. The kiddie pool was closed on this day I visited because someone shit in it. I actually read in the news that they closed the entire pool the week before on one of the hottest days of the summer because someone shit in it. Google it if you don't believe me. The atmosphere has definitely improved, but not worth coming here again since the staff likes to make sure that they manage every little detail and impose each and every rule upon you. You really can't have fun at this pool, everything is a problem, literally my 4 year old daughter was holding on to me while swimming, they said "No holding on to each other while swimming." This place has potential but as long as it's ran by the NYC Parks and recreation it will always be a toilet.

She's pretty young, so it's the first time she's ever taken a one-day course of any kind. It's a pretty long day, 9am - 4pm, and yet, she says it went by quickly. At about noon, the instructors took the kids to a pizza place just down the block. I spoke with a few of the workers from Aquatic Solutions, and they're really good, well-meaning employees. I wasn't sure what to expect from a babysitting class, but my daughter is even more enthused than she was before it, so I'm happy. Money very well spent. Now if she'd only stop blabbing about all of these babysitting techniques and stuff, maybe I could get some work done!

For what it's worth, I indeed noticed that the steam room has been closed for as long as I remember like other reviews pointed out. The pool is very sizable, and its length (25m) is perfect for lap swimming. It is very well maintained and I never had a problem with the condition of the pool. I swam a lot and this pool definitely satisfied my need for exercise. I had 2 issues with the experience with the pool. Firstly, I think the staff on the pool could do a better job at coordinating swimmers of different speeds in different lanes. Sometimes, you will have relatively slower swimmers chilling and floating around in fast lanes, which could be a pain for faster swimmers, and vice versa. On some days, the staff will coordinate and direct slow and fast swimmers to different lanes, but not always. In this case, you have to communicate with your fellow swimmers on the same lane, which is fine, but some days you just want to get in the pool, finish up your swim target, and get out, without worrying about bumping into people in the same lane. Secondly, there are definitely rush hours which the pool gets super crowded. It is quite often that I would have to share a lane with 3 other swimmers. And I recall I once had to share a lane with 5 other swimmers, though this is pretty rare. The new pool that I switched to requires scheduling in advance and allow only a maximum of 2 people in the same lane, which I like a lot. During COVID, AG also required scheduling, and I think there was a 3 people limit per lane, which I love, but that ended. These are minor inconveniences that did not hurt my experience. Overall I am pretty happy with what I got from my membership with AG. Also, the billing team has been wonderful, especially Josh and Nick. They helped me multiple times during my 3 years+ of membership with setting up my account, switching between different membership types, helping with my adhoc requests, and eventually canceling my membership. They were very responsive and helpful and made everything very easy for me.
