This is an awesome zoo. It is a wildlife rescue zoo. Most of the animals were saved from owners who were in violation and got reported or couldn't take care of the animals anymore. Others were from zoos that couldn't take care of disabled animals. It was an amazing walk through the place. The staff were so nice. The place opened at 11 and we basically had it to ourselves for the first 45 minutes. My daughter loved it. It was inexpensive and definitely an awesome find to visit! read more

Such a great loving zoo that cares deeply for the animals and it shows! It's a great place to bring kids and allow them to get close to the animals! They have cute little peacocks running out in the open adding a welcoming touch to the facility. Very cute zoo of rescued animals from pigs to tigers. My 3 yr old nephew enjoyed it so much he keeps asking to visit the bears again. We went on a week day which was quiet and parking was readily available in the lot. The animals love popcorn and I recommend bringing two large popcorns with you into the zoo - which you can buy when you buy your tickets inside the animal shelter. Great staff as well. read more

We used to love this zoo & visit 5+ times a year, well not anymore - One of their employees was incredibly rude to us while we were trying to find parking in their (tiny, overcrowded) lot - He literally got out of his (Popcorn Park Zoo) truck in his uniform & YELLED at us very angrily to move our car (when we weren't blocking anyone and had our turn signal on to pull into a spot, someone on the other side of the road was parked illegally.) How about you don't yell at paying customers, ugly goatee clad idiot? You just lost frequent customers & we won't be back. If this is who Popcorn Park employs, stay far away! read more

The animals are happy! You can feed all sorts of critters (deer, monkeys, goats, sheet, ponies, etc) - just don't forget to buy popcorn after purchasing your tickets. Very stroller friendly. read more

It's a really nice rescue zoo. They don't have a huge selection of wild and exotic animals to brag about, but when you understand that all of the animals were rescued from being either abused or abandoned, it really warms your heart. I have good memories of feeding animals popcorn as a kid and more recent memories of being terrorized by the peacocks that are all over that joint. I honestly think that's one of the best things about it. The peacocks just roam free and occasionally fight each other by like jumping up and stomping on each other. I think it's funny, but the kids we were with were terrified of it. It's a sweet place to go. About the shelter: be careful if you go in there and you're "just looking" because you WILL fall in love with a dog or a cat. So many sweeties in there. read more

Luv this place!!!This place is great! Took my 3yr old & didnt worry about him not having fun... the animals are all rescued & its nice that people do care. Its cheap to get in, buy popcorn to feed the animals; they love it! Theres a lot of peacocks roaming around which is awesome!!! The down fall, if you can call it that is, the big cats are so darn thin! Its really sad to see. I wished i had some raw chicken for them.... My son loved the popcorn luge for the horses; which is great but they should have them fir all the animals as so much popcorn goes to waste. My son walked out & ran around to the different animals & i didnt have to keep him on a "tight leash". They also have a pet asoption center which is great if you'd like to adopt. Tried to adopt sevral dogs, they told me a doggie door wasn't a good case scenario even if it led into huge fenced in yard. They said other than the door the application was perfect. They're fooling no one. They don't want thee poor babies to have a home. They just switch them to another shelter. took our 18 month old on a Monday afternoon, and we all loved it. parking was easy right in front of the zoo...watch out for the peacocks in the driveway! get both peanuts and popcorn...it was fun feeding all the animals. don't wear open toed shoes (the ground is sand). it was tough pushing our umbrella stroller through the sand, should have left it in the car...the zoo is small and we didn't need it. do not feed the canada geese; they can be very aggressive and scary around little ones. i agree that things were not labeled well and there was nobody around to answer questions....but this place does wonderful things for animals so i'm not complaining. read more

I was so disappointed with this zoo. If it wasn't for my son wanting to go, I would never have come here. I feel so sorry for these poor animals. I expected better enclosures, adequate shelter, with plenty of proper food and water. All these animals looked so sad. For the fees they collect, some investment should be made for proper care and housing of these beautiful creatures. First time and last time here. read more

They are extremely rude! They would rather keep cats in cages then send them to a warm and loving home! They denied my in laws from adopting a cat because 30 YEARS AGO they got their indoor cat declawed. Mind you back then it was not considered inhumane and was commonplace. They also said that NOW they would NEVER declaw a cat. I think it is shameful to deny a cat a caring family. It is unfortunate that the cute cat will suffer in the shelter a little longer because of this. Needless to say they will not be donating to this organization any longer. read more

This is such a great place to visit with little ones. I take my 11 month old here every few weeks. He loves pointing at the animals and watching the bears eat our peanuts. Where else can you go for $5? Its not a large zoo, so you only need to plan to spend about an hour there and you will be walking on dirt, so be prepared! It also feels good to see animals that needed rescuing to get the care that they needed. read more

This place is cute & a nice outing, but it gets kinda scary with the geese everywhere, which I was on aware of, they are friendly, but you never know with geese. Its a regular zoo, not over the top, but a decent amount of animals that were rescued! It's also really hard to push a stroller around because they aren't any real walkways. Your better off going here with your kids that already walk well. It's fairly priced. read more

I LOVE this place! it's so much fun. Upon entering you can buy peanuts and popcorn and feed the animals. It's a big place but not super huge, so you can see all the animals. The goats, bears and bobcats are my favorites. I had to park on the street because the lot was full, it's not a bad walk at all. Parking is free-One time i got there 45 minutes before they closed, they didn't have peanuts or popcorn but they didn't charge me to enter, either. i've been there maybe 6 times and i've never been dissapointed. they don't sell food but theres a hot dog truck outside. the bathrooms are a little smelly but it's just like a big trailer...not a huge deal. read more

What a great place to take the kids. I love the layout of this zoo; it's very walkable for young children. Kids will love roaming around and going from exhibit to exhibit feeding the animals popcorn and peanuts. It is a beautifully maintained zoo; with shaded areas and bench seating throughout. We took our daughter to the popcorn zoo yesterday. I liked that this zoo rescues animals that need proper homes. I was blown away by how many monkeys they have. It's scary that there are people that think they can keep a primate as a pets. I loved reading each animals story about where they came from and how they made it to the popcorn zoo. However, the enclosures were very small and consisted of mostly dirt. There was a sad looking food truck outside in the parking lot and a bathroom trailer in the back of the parking lot. I had to change my daughter's diaper in my car. The bathroom they had was flooded and disgusting. Also, they sell popcorn to feed the animals at the main entrance. Cute idea but there is popcorn littered all over the park. I also think that feeding the animals popcorn every day for the 6 hours that the park is open is probably not good for the animals. read more

Popcorn Park is only the best zoo ever. This place runs entirely on donations and takes in animals truly in need. To the people who complain about the lacking of signage... donate some. Parking across the street is a small price to pay to patronize this zoo and get up close with the animals that live there. This place deserves 10 stars. read more

I love how this zoo is not one to take and en captivate animals. They are all rescued and or in need. The zoo isn't commercialized so it dosnt have food and things. but you can bring your own food and enjoy it. all the animals look happy and taken care of. read more

Popcorn Park is a great place to take your kids for an afternoon. They will love getting close up to the animals. Be sure to buy the popcorn for feeding at the front gate. All in all an opportunity to support a great cause and have alot of family fun. read more

my bestfriend was in there today and had her 2 kids, went to see the cats and this asshole guy was telling her to keep her kid quite when he wasnt even loud so she freaked out on the guy! he was very inappropriate and the rest of the staff didnt seem to care what was going on...you should be able to interact with the animals before they can get adopted but i guess not here since he told her to stay away from the cages..i feel sorry for those animals for being there. we will not be coming back! i wouldnt give this place a star! the zoo part is fine i loved going there as a kid but to adopt an animal hell no! read more

The popcorn park zoo is truly an amazing place and a must visit to anyone in the area. All of the animals are rescued and are being taken care of. As a snack, they sell unsalted popcorn and peanuts that you can feed to any of the animals. Me boyfriend and I fell in love with the bears (who knew that bear's liked peanuts so much!). There are monkeys, goats, pigs, peacocks, tigers, camels, and many more there! It's an affordable family trip too and leaves an imprint on your heart long after your visit :) read more

I feel this is a wonderful place for inumerable reasons. The zoo is to help animals and for people to enjoy the day for a very low fee. It seems ALSO a necessity to attract those people who need to get something for themselves in return. So those of you who are complaining and being negative saying "disappointed", "small", I have a few queries for you then... have you missed the point entirely? It runs on donations correct? What was your donation sum? So, you want nicer. Ok. Who pays for it? The Zoo fairy?! Don't want to? Then why do you feel entitled to your negative opinions? These people work tirelessly on low funding to care for those animals of whom society has failed. I tire of those who only wish to be part of the problem, yet won't do be the solution. Like blaming the neighbor for your own overgrown lawn etc.. I give much credit to Popcorn Zoo and the volunteers and staff. I'd hate to think what would happen if you did not exist. So giving low ratings and bad reviews only serves to detract more possible donations by making others not come. So not only are you doing nothing to help, now you are actually hurting them! read more

Awesome day at the zoo today with three adults and one 6 year old. I had as much fun as the boy did! Fed an emu and lots of other creatures. This is way better than most any zoo, since all the animals are rescues and also you can see them right up close and feed them! Super awesome place and a wonderful price - $5 for each adult and I think $4 for the kid. Loved all the big birds running around too. read more

They get 5 stars just for caring for these animals! Each animal has a sad story of how they came to be at the popcorn zoo but without the humane society stepping up I would not want to know what would happen to these animals. They have monkeys, Tigers, bears, deer, goats, a bull, horses....the zoo is sizable but sandy so wear closed toed shoes! Most of the animals can be fed popcorn which you can purchase at the entrance but some are hard to get in the cages and you can miss which is sad for the animals - I also felt like I was throwing it at the them which was a little sad too hit most animals looked happily and eager for the treats and didn't mind the bad throws at all. You can feed the monkeys and bears peanuts. read more

Totally disappointing. The info online sounds so enticing but the reality is pretty drab. The parking is inconvenient unless you are an employee. And you have to wonder why the employer lot is so full when inside the zoo we saw no staff at all. There were also almost no signs or information posted about the animals. You had to wonder what kind of animal you are looking at. It would be so helpful to have a little info about the animal's natural habitat, eating and social habits, like in most zoos. Also some info of where the animal was rescues from would be really interesting and promote the premise of this zoo. In the 3 hours we were there we did not see one staff member who could guide us and explain. We never saw the Bengal tigers. The reptile house was closed due to construction even though the website didn't have this posted. The one detailed sign was posted by Princess the camel telling her life story except we never saw princess. We tried to access the website from out phone so we can get done background info as we were strolling from cage to cage but there was no phone connection or wifi available in the zoo. Many cages looked empty. Altogether it was a pretty pathetic zoo. And you have to wonder, how much popcorn can these animals tolerate by the scores of kids throwing kernels at them. read more
