We were looking online at 'activity' farms (animal husbandry-horseback riding-bees, etc) in the…read morelocal area and came upon the Rose Bridge Farm. Rose Bridge is a sanctuary and working farm on land once owned by William Penn. Since 2013, the farm has become a 'forever home' for over 300 animals. Many of the animals are rescues from dairy farms, livestock auctions or other scenarios where they were at risk. They have several different activities, we opted for the Farm Fest, which combined several of the activities. The Farm Fest includes a mini farm animal husbandry tour, baby animal cuddling time, hands on craft activity, a beverage bar and an outdoor fire pit. It lasts about 2 hours. There were many parents there with children, but also adults like us by themselves. There are two times - 4-6 and 6:30-8:30. We went on the 4:00 tour. It was great! It was very interesting hearing how the animals came to the farm - it was so heartwarming to hear the stories of saving so many animals. However, I wasn't expecting the 'cuddling time' to be so much fun. We started with the goats - so friendly! They were nuzzling and 'pawing' us - I sat down and several came to me and wanted to be rubbed or held. I even had an opportunity to feed a baby goat its milk bottle! We interacted with pigs, sheep, a beautiful thoroughbred horse and a donkey! It was a very special experience! Afterwards we all went to a large barn and made crafts - specifically little planters we decorated, added dirt and seeds (large selection of flowers and vegetables seeds) to take home as a little souvenir. We had a dinner reservation so we left before the fire pit activity. Overall, it was a wonderful experience to be with these farm animals and to support such a worthwhile project.

They were very friendly and come right up to you ready to eat lol. We also saw bunnies, a peacock, pigs, turkeys and baby turkeys. When we arrived, my husband explained we were a family of five, including our baby who is 9 months old. Instead of simply charging the admission, the man looked at my daughter and said, "Wow, she looks big for 9 months." This was not an innocent observation--it was a shady, backhanded way of suggesting we were lying about her age so he could charge us. For the record, my daughter is absolutely 9 months old--small for her age, no teeth, not walking, sitting in a stroller with a pacifier. His comment was unnecessary, insulting, and immediately set a negative tone. If the policy is that everyone pays--even infants--then state that clearly. Don't make rude remarks about a child's appearance or insinuate dishonesty. I even offered to pay the $6, but instead of being straightforward, he backtracked. For a place that depends on families visiting, this kind of treatment is unacceptable. If you choose to come here, be prepared for a rude encounter before you even get inside. We won't be returning, and I would not recommend this "zoo" to anyone who values basic respect. To the owner: your mouth is bad for your business, friend.

They also have a restaurant, so you can enjoy a meal while you're there. It's a great place to stretch your legs, shop for fresh produce, and enjoy a taste of the countryside. If you're in the area, Parsons Farm is definitely worth a visit!

Most of the alpacas do not want to be touched, so we take photos around them hoping they look at the camera haha. So if you plan on bringing children ( highly recommend) know that the alpacas can get scared at quick movement or if they are touched. We got our photos and a lot of answered questions about the farm. They book up fast, plan ahead online if you want to schedule a tour. It is free and so fun for everyone. It's not mandatory but please donate so we can keep these small businesses active and the alpacas fed & happy :)

There is parking right at the edge of their gate to the Alpaca farm, and it fits 2 spots so plan to carpool if you are going with a group. You start off with a big baggie of carrots to be shared amongst the male and female aplacas, meeting the males alpacas first and then the females. They are excited about the carrots but are very friendly! They will walk you through techniques in feeding, how to fit in a quick pet, and help you take cute photos. Tish also has a great selfie tip with luring the Alpacas with a carrot to get them picture perfect. The reservation ends with a browse through the gift shop they built with all things Alpaca, including a few items made by Tish! Tish and her husband are the only 2 who own and manage their farm, and their hardwork and dedication to the Alpacas and to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone is noticable and highly appreciated! Be sure to visit before mid-April (shear season) or some time after if you want some cute pictures of Alpacas with a fuller coat. Our visit was right before they got sheared!

I found Goat Yoga on line and decided when family came down to check it out!…read more It was a blast and the goats were amazing, so adorable, some were really small and others were a bit bigger, but all of them participated in the fun. It was not about the yoga, it was about the goats! So many great pictures. The handlers and instructor were so good with the goats and all participants. We loved the little tiny ones they snuggled, they tried to eat your hair. They even peed on a bride-to-be! It's good luck! I would highly recommend it for anyone, young, older, animal lovers or novice to yoga!

Linda and David own the farm and were such nice hosts. We found their website and paid for a one hour U-Pick and we were looking for Dahlias and found much much more ! First we met their farm animals ... alpacas, goats, chickens, and my favorite ... Jack the handsome turkey! After we said hello to the animals it was time to pick sime flowers and make a beautiful bouquet. They provide you with a vase to put your flowers in and the scissors. There was so much more than dahlias to pick ... you can see from my photo that the selection was endless. From zinnias, gladiolus, marigolds, strawflowers and so many more ! You can pay ahead of time online or in person at the farm. We will definitely be back! It was the highlight of our weekend!
