They have flight instructors who can work with you on your schedule, at reasonable prices to help you get your private pilot's license. You can also rent a plane by the hour if needed. There is a pilots lounge inside, a nice reception area, and sitting area. The staff are always nice and helpful. I have landed and taken off from this airport many times in the past. They are currently expanding and have many new large hangers built to increase their storage facilities. It's a nice private, way back at the end of the road location. They also have loaner cars you can use if you fly in for a quick fuel stop and need to get a bite to eat, then be back on your way. This is a very nice small airport for the Greenwood area. Weather was perfect, crew was helpful, as were other boaters. We had a good time and enjoyed the day. The boat was in good condition. It lacked horsepower, but that is probably a good thing for amateur boaters. A water safety class was required before rental. Be mindful of the capacity limits posted on the boat.

We were hosted by Ally Financial and they had several tables down in what I would consider to be the "VIP" area. The show was really good, but what I liked best about the entire experience is that you could bring in your own food and beverages. No matter where you were seated on the lawn, you could bring in a cooler, pizza, take-out, deli sandwiches...whatever you like. Some folks had really nice set-ups, and others arrived with nothing more than a folded lawn chair under their arm. Children ran free and folks made their way up to the dance floor positioned directly in front of the stage. I look forward to returning again in the future. It was really nice. Beware of the dragonflies. They were the size of my hand!

My granddaughter and I both learned why an iron is called an iron, because it was a hunk of iron heated in a fire and then inserted into what looks like today's iron with a handle. I have visited many museums of this same time period, including Spring Mill State Park, but this time it really struck me how hard life was in the early 1800s just to survive. From growing your own food to making your own cloth, to making your own clothing, it was a full day of providing sustenance. My granddaughter loved Animal Encounters especially the lambs. The temperature hit 90 degrees by noon so we left early and didn't do the hot air balloon or the Apple House.

Not Ms. Carrie! She is out there hitting the road, enlightening visitors and showing the sights of Indianapolis to a appreciative audience. Circle City Tours is very flexible and will work with your schedule and timeline. I was picked up downtown for the tour but for a slight fee, Carrie dropped me off at an Airport hotel. I was grateful for her immense knowledge of the city, particularly historical facts. LOVED the trek through lovely Crown Hill cemetery, which is not morbid at all. Carrie pointed out the many grave sites of noted politicians, authors, artists, ex-Presidents and the locally prominent who lie in repose there. The Civil War burial section was also very touching. Ms. Carrie pointed out magnificent churches, memorials, art and children's museum, local eateries (Shapiro's Deli=yummy!) and the White River State Park area. We even got to check out all the Christmas decorations up at the Indy Speedway. She packs a lot into the 3-hour tours but when it's over, you feel a sense of accomplishment that you learned so much about Indianapolis-- a city made all the more beautiful than it already is, by the beautiful ministrations of Carrie and Circle City Tours. 5 YELP STARS.

You know those amazing and unique mid-century modern houses you see when you drive down Main Street…read morein Carmel, near Guildford? Those were designed by Avriel Shull, an architect from Indiana. There's a whole neighborhood called Thornhurst in Carmel that's full of these awesome houses, and the neighborhood is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. This tour lets you walk inside these houses and look around! This is literally my dream come true, because I've been eyeing these houses ever since I saw them in Carmel, and this tour actually lets me take a peek inside. The Holiday Home Tour is in its 21st year as of this writing. This year, there were four houses on the tour, each one on Thornhurst Drive, just off Main Street. You get to walk into each house, and there are volunteers inside who tell you about different features of the house. Be sure to take your shoes off before you enter! The tour this year cost $25 per ticket if you paid in advance, and $30 the day of. It's a little steep, but the money benefits the Carmel Clay Historical Society, so it's for a good cause going to good people. You also get a little trolley ride from the parking lot at Carmel Middle School to the houses that you toured. Whee! I'd definitely recommend this tour for anyone who loves mid-century modern architecture and design.
