Will malls as we know them be around another 5 yrs. or more?…read more Who knows, but Woodfield is still the 10th largest mall in the entire U.S. by size for those keeping count. And for a top 10 mall, just about every type of store and dining option awaits you upon entry. The HVAC ventilation system didn't seem to be working optimally this weekday. Restrooms were well-attended to. Plenty of free, available parking. Top-notch people watching spot. 2nd-tier must see stop for travelers visiting the Chicago metro area for the 1st time.

Having a lot of time is key to looking around this big ass Schaumburg mall. It may not be as great…read moreas it was but it still has lots to check out. Woodfield Mall is the biggest in Illinois and it certainly isn't a surprise. A crap tons of stores are here. There's also a food court and restaurants. Certainly it has a lot of history. It's the main thing interesting about this suburb. There's a bunch of other businesses and restaurants that have come in around it and it's still got quality stuff after all of these years. As for the mall itself there's plenty to look at. The location is located close to major highways and there's bus routes. Has a lot of impact on the local economy. It opened in 1971 by the Taubman Company and is now owned by Simon. Has a few main anchors. There's currently JC Penney, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Primark. Has a couple of floors. On the first floor is Ben And Jerry's, Crocs, Express, Hollister, Starbucks, and TCBY. On the top floor is Anthropologie, Auntie Anne's, Eddie Bauer, LEGO Store, and Uncle Julio's among other things. A lot of course has changed. There used to be a Rainforest Cafe and of course there used to be Sears. Got to check it out even though it's not like it used to be. It's located along Golf Road. There's a few times it may be sketchy but people usually aren't violent or whatever.

The stores are preparing for Easter and the Spring season so there are many pretty pastels to choose from. Many of you know that my favorite color is pink. But I also enjoy a milky banana or sunshine yellow. There was plenty. I only shopped at a few stores today as hubby was working so it was easy for me to be in and out. He takes a little more time with his selections than I do. There is a really nice coffee shop that opened up in the place of Starbucks. Right next door is a macaroon shop. You can always buy mangoes, ice cream and churros. Grabbed a few items for upcoming birthday surprises and headed on my way.
