I don't understand how this place has great reviews. I literally walked out on their massage. Just like a previous review which stated that the therapist kept hitting his spine so did my therapist to me. It was scary the moves she was performing. I never tell any parlors my credentials but I have been a healer for 30 years with some of those years teaching. Never would I teach, recommend, advise how this lady was trying to adjust my spine. It was insane!! She had no connection to the body. Matter of fact as I was laying there trying to tolerate it for the short amount of time that I could my mind was drifting to the thought that she was untrained. The longer I played there my mind was telling me to get up and off the bed before she injures me. Maybe not physically but mentally & spiritually. I'm such a nice guy I ended up giving her a $5 tip for her time and said, "I sorry here for trying." I mean what do I expect from a mall massage. I just wanted to kill time. I do not recommend this place. It is a group of a few beds with only thin bedsheets in between each and no walls. So you ca hear everything even the girl in the cash register who is also only on the other side of the sheet. When got naked the masseuse stayed in the room with me and stared with me disrobe and she didn't even try to look away or step out. That's highly inappropriate. She was a weird lady with an annoying voice. When I got dressed at the end she also made sure to bust in my room with a cup of water and be there while I'm naked getting dressed. Don't come here! Quality is subpar and upselling tactic is a bit shady. They have their listed price, which is semi reasonable, but the receptionist/owner then proceeds to hard sell you on adding $10 for extra strength and deep tissue. I can understand if it's extra for a deep tissue or shiatsu vs regular massage but when the owner said it was for extra strength that caught me by surprise. Didn't think of that being too fair as it's relative. Either way, she was a big aggressive so I opted for the deep tissue/extra strength. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being strong, it was a 2. I felt like I was getting lotion rubbed on me.... Upon politely asking her to increase strength, she said that's the strongest and that my body is not meant for a massage (?!?) The masseuse also kept hitting my spine with her elbows, which really caused me pain during and post. Not cool. They advertised themselves as trained Japanese masseuses but as someone that gets regular massages, please take it from me, I can promise you that's not the case! There are a bunch of curtains separating the treatment spaces and it's not a quiet spa setting, but it's peaceful and clean. They offer kamaaina rates too. I bought a massager. I was hesitant at first, but could not resist the half price offer deal. Then found out there is a scratch. Went back to have an exchange. The lady patiently opened every single one and pretty much all with a small scratch. Because it is so tight in the box that the power cord must press too hard on the product. I picked one that has less scratch. When I returned home. I found out the box is broken. So I went back again to exchange the box. On the night before the exchange, I used the massager once. The next morning, my back was hurt out of wood. I just bent down to put clothes away, then just hurt my lower back. I was not sure if I just exchange the box or just exchange the whole thing. I decided to just exchange the box. When I went to store, I told the lady (not the same lady that sold me the massager) I wanted to exchange the box. By her look, she seems not happy about it. So she called the boss. The boss told me I have already exchanged for so many times. I told him I only went once. I also told him his products are not so good. He said no more exchanges and everything is final. I told him it does not say on the receipt nor that they told me when I bought it. Because of his attitude, I told him I wanted to return the whole thing. I told him I just used the machine the night before. He did not want to give me the refund. I told him it hurt my back. Then he said I changed the subject. Sounds like I made it up. I told the lady if they don't give me the refund, I will call the cops. After discussion with her boss, they said to give me the refund. Then the lady said she could not find the transaction on that cash register, it was on the other one. She said she will give me the refund in one to two days, but never came. I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Finally got the refund. Lesson learned, always ask for the return policy before you buy. One more thing, I saw it was only $10 off in the store. The inside looks small kine sketchy because it's just curtains separating you from your neighbors and you can basically hear anyone talking, the phone ringing, etc but if you can get over that, the massages are QUALITY and you cannot beat the price. Don't let the mall location dissuade you from entering the business. Very nice Japanese staff will greet you and show you to your curtained area. They provide a nice local discount and participate in the 5-star loyalty program too. I've visited a half dozen times and have never been disappointed. They provide any level of pressure that you need - for me, I need a light to medium pressure. Yes it may seem odd that you are only a hanging curtain away from the patron next to you, but I've never felt like my privacy was endangered. They have an option for a private room and also have a nice and clean bathroom for you to use before/after service. Great hours, but I would recommend an appointment since they also accept walk-in guests. read more

It's tiny inside, but everyone there is so friendly & they have pretty reasonable prices for being in a major mall. But the best thing is the massage! This is my 1st time there, and I did 90 mins. This is a small massage place located at Ala Moana Center. I received a gift certificate for a 1 hour massage. The most frustrating thing about this place is knowing where it is located in Ala Moana. It is located in a part of the mall that I don't frequent. I tried calling several times right before my appointment to ask where they were located but no one picked up the phone. When I read other yelp reviews it said it was located next to the lady footlocker. Well, there is no lady footlocker as that store has closed. Others said it was located next to the abc store, but there was no abc store by this location. I literally think I walked the whole mall finding this place! I finally went to the foot locker store to ask where their lady footlocker used to be located. They told me first floor by the food court. Still not very clear, I walked to the first floor and made a left after the food court and finally found it! It's located as if you were walking toward Macys on the first floor next to Goma tei and pass game stop. When I finally arrived the woman at the front was calling me back. I said I couldn't find it, she said ok and asked me to sit down. They have little heated massagers attached to their chairs. They also have two other massage chairs you can use as you wait. I was brought inside a small space. There are no rooms, you are literally separated by curtains. This is a day spa, so you change out of your clothes, place them in a basket and then lay under the sheets, no lockers, or robes. My masseuse was a nice lady. I told her I had pain and tension in my shoulders. She did a good job of working them. I really enjoyed the actual massage. My only complaint would be to lessen the time she spend rubbing and stretching me over the sheets before she started the actual massage. She used some Lomi lomi massage techniques mixed with some stretching. I really enjoyed it. They play nice spa music but it is a little loud, I think to try and mask the loud tv I heard. You can hear people coming in and checking in the front. Especially where I was located, I was right behind the front desk. You can basically hear everything. For an hour massage that was good, and only $68 I would go back. They also offer local discount and have a stamp card. If you are looking for pure relaxation, this is not the place for you! I was a little ambivalent about my massage here, but the results were pretty good. My appointment was late, but as I was the last Appointment for the day, I understand small delays early in the day can really add up. The good thing is there have very advanced massage chairs that are pretty comfortable. As a warning the massage chairs have a really aggressive foot massager and the rollers for the soles of my feet were actually kind of painful! During the massage, the massage therapist did let me know that she specializes in shiatsu mixed with lomilomi and Swedish and if that was okay. I thought that was fine because it would be a mix, but actually the massage was primarily shiatsu! It wasn't super relaxing like an exclusively lomilomi or Swedish massage and so when I left I felt slightly disappointed. However the primary reason I went to the massage therapist was because a very stiff shoulders and after Getting home and getting some rest I woke up with relaxed shoulders! My shoulders felt shot for several days so in reality I guess that shiatsu really works. As a note, the shiatsu pressure can actually really hurt during the session but I actually like really firm massages so it didn't bother me much. If you're sensitive I don't know if this would be for you. In the end, it was a great massage for my painful shoulder muscles, but not a super relaxing one. Pretty sure if you let her know that you just want a Lomilomi or Swedish massage though she can accommodate you. read more

Boyfriend has been saying he's been wanting a massage, so as we were in the mall, we passed by this place and gave it a shot. The store is not too big as the stalls are separated by curtains (more like thin drapes/bed liners) so we can hear anything that goes in the store. I got Minako, she was such a sweetheart. I'd say the overall experience was great, but I was hoping for more rough of a massage as her hands were so gentle and soft. I can't speak for everyone, but each masseuse that I saw (including the ones that served us) were all so tiny and dainty! You get what you pay for. As inexpensive as the prices are for a massage, you can't complain. Given that the massage parlor is facing the busy parking structure of Ala Moana shipping center and you hear cars and chatter from outside, you can simply overlook that (if you don't mind). But massage therapists are decently great. They ask me what my preference of massage is and what areas need to be focused on. At the end of the massage, they give you water and time to sit. Upon my first visit, they will give you a stamp card. So make use of that if you plan to come here often. Parking is definitely not a problem and they take credit cards. If you're a little early for your massage, they have you sit in the massage chair to relax while waiting for the therapists. I don't recommend doing walk-ins, as they will have you wait for 30-40 min or longer (given the amount of therapists available). Better to call in advance for a reservation/booking. The entire place is a curtain closed space. No rooms at all. Not enough space to move around but just enough to change in and out of your clothes. read more
