Long wait, worth the wait chicken sandwich was delicious, the crispy chicken skin was amazing. Chicken was plentiful in the sandwich. Hey have mild, medium, hot, and extra hot sandwiches and they are perfectly seasoned. Extra hot was nice and spicy but bearable if you like spicy foods. The coleslaw inside the sandwich gives it a nice texture. I recommend asking for extra mayo specialty sauce. It only makes the sandwich better. The regular fries are great... But if you want added flavor get the fire fries!! Delicious fries with the special sauce and coleslaw over them. You can make the as spicy as you would like also. A definite go to, suggestion: bring your favorite drink to accompany it, they do have some juices that we did not purchase. But I did have with a stout beer and it was fantastic.

I went to their indoor location in American Eats Co. Decided to give them a chance. Their breaded chicken filets are all piled into a fryer basket suspended over a fryer. Dont know if they're prepared ahead of time but i would have liked mine dipped/made to order. The chicken didnt come out dry but it came out stringy. I asked the guy what sauce i should get since i like spicy but i want it to have flavor and he told me MILD. I laughed and said but i like it spicy so he gave me regular Hot. Their fries were anemic, sad, and dismal to look at. Gray spuds, stringy chicken, rubbery thin slices of cucumber? Only things i liked were the sauce and the buns. Two stars.

Eh. I got the fries, husband got the sandwich, neither of us got what we thought we were ordering. Interesting concept, it was quick ish and filling so if you like things smothered in hot sauce I say try it- the flavor is there.

Im going to get real yelpy on this , Ive been trying to catch this truck at its random locations , and today i was highly motivated to do so . Found it behind the circle k on grant & i10 at the convention center , nice little food truck great staff oh the staff was great so helpful so kind so full of joy made me happy to see that they cook with pride . Okay so the food let me get this off with im sitting on my sofa barely able to move im so full and satisfied i want to go to sleep wake up @6 and go to their 2nd location of the day ! The sandwich was so big ! Chicken was cooked perfectly , juicy KriSpy at corners oh man im getting hungry just yelping this , i ordered medium on the spice and it was on point with a kick but not a kick to where you were sucking your teeth looking for milk ! Lol The fries reminded me of a version of patts chili dogs , they were bomb so good , fried just right , i orderd them with the sauces on them it was great ! I will say if you dont like cucumber tell them no pickles because they are still a cucumber version of them which im not complaining just helping you out & watching your back ! Thanks Pops Chicken & Their Workers !!

I lucked out since I arrived ten minutes before the food truck pulled in at Casa Video. As the food truck opened up, twenty people were already in line behind me. The hype is real! When I took a bite of the chicken sandwich the flavor was unlike anything I have ever tasted. I could taste the garlic, paprika, and cayenne pepper with a hint of tangy lime. The inside of the chicken was moist, but the chicken's true finesse comes from its crispy skin. Overall, the sandwich's greatness comes from its excellent texture duality and complex flavor combination. Make sure you get a side of fire fries when you come here! The fries have the same wonderful flavor of the chicken sandwich with coleslaw and avocado piled on top. Follow the owner on Instagram to find their location. They are usually downtown and are definitely worth a try!

Tried this place last night for the first time and let me tell you guys it was delicious I had the extreme spicy chicken sandwich and there's just so much flavor and crunch. I would highly recommend this place now if you don't like spice at all just get the regular one but honestly even the mild chicken sandwich has that little kick to it! DELICIOU

Pops Hot chicken is the new favorite food truck. Crispy hot chicken and fresh cut fries! Good portions for the price. Has spice levels from no spice to x-hot plus, so if you can't take the heat you have options. Great service too!

Wanted to love this and just didn't. I ordered one hot chicken sandwich and regular fries. The good? Chicken was perfectly cooked. House made pickle was great. Fries were shockingly good for being just regular fries and a really good value for portion size. The bad? I don't really know how to reconcile a Nashville hot chicken sandwich lacking flavor. There was no nuance, it just tasted like cayenne pepper. There was some sort of other sauce in there but it was indistinguishable. I was really bummed because I love the concept for Tucson but what can ya do? I'd get the fries again if I was with ppl at American Eat Co.

I've already left a review before, but here are some pics of the menu since there is none on here or the website. I also gave it 2 stars cuz the same problem happened again where the chicken sandwiches were burned (all of them some worse than others, this was for a group of us at my work) to a crisp and one was not even edible. Sad cuz the flavors are their but they seem to not have their timing right for their chicken frying time.

One of those things you'll be craving until you can make it back. 100% recommend. The service could be a little better, no one said anything to us when we walked in and we maybe thought it was closed. We've been wanting to go for weeks and every time we drive by it's closed! So thankful we made it. So delicious!

Let me preface this by saying I've had my fair share of Nashville hot chicken sandwiches in Chicago...and Pops is NOT Nashville hot chicken. I'm not sure what you would call pops, to be honest, except gross. We went to pops once about a year ago, when we came from Chicago and were dying to have a hot chicken sandwich...we left the food truck EXTREMELY disappointed. Today while we were at american eat, we decided to give them another try since there were people lined up for these sandwiches, so we thought maybe something had changed... nothing changed. My sandwich had a tail sticking out one side that was about 1.5" long, and it was SO OVERDONE and so was so hard I couldn't cut through it with the knife provided. When I bit into it, it tasted like chicharrón. I'm not sure what the red heat they put in the outer portion of the chicken is, but it's definitely not like any other traditional hot chicken I've ever had. The Cole slaw should really be left off, it's sweet, and adds nothing to the sandwich. If you are in the mood for a chicken sandwich, seriously, go to Popeyes. Their sandwich is $4 and 10x as good! Pops sandwich is $10. Even if pops was the same price as Popeyes, I'd take Popeyes hands down over pops.

Old oil. Bad bread. Not worth the hype. If you want a good chicken sandwich make it or go to Chick-Fil-A. You're welcome.

-The sandwich size is huge and the sauce that they use is really unique and compliments the chicken well.

The photos, except for the truck, were taken at a Yelp event. His mother was working at the truck when I came in today. They are located at The Pit food truck park at 22nd St. and Pantano. Give them a try! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. Not sure if they move around, but we found them in the downtown area. The gentleman manning the truck, was very friendly and nice. It was very unique in what they do, and he took his time preparing our ice creams. They only had enough of the regular ice cream to do one serving, so I got the Vegan ice cream and my husband got the regular. I must say the Vegan was pretty tasty! It was not as creamy as the regular (of course) but if they only have Vegan left, it is still worth trying this unique version of ice cream and mix-ins. I did the brownie/coconut mix in, with chocolate sauce. My husband did strawberry/banana with strawberry sauce and it was +++++!

Finally made it here! Fantastic venue - spacious/airy historic industrial with thick old wood and…read moreiron everywhere. We were seated in a booth looking out onto Broadway. The young gentleman who waited on us (Avi) was outstanding - capably answering all of our menu and origin story questions. All beef comes from a grass-fed ranch in Montana (Meijer) and is butchered several times a week, on premises by the owner or head chef (prep room behind the dining areas). We were both eyeing the Carne Asada for which they use a skirt steak that is tenderized by pounding rather than marinating (as is more commonly done for tacos/fajitas). Being hammered is definitely the better path when served as steak. Since we always share, she got the Asada ($39) with the "surf/turf" option which added 4 grilled shrimp (+$15) and I got the 8oz Filet ($49). We also split an app: the Cast Iron Mushrooms (caps filled with beef chorizo and cheese) $14 and they were tender and delicious! For drinks she got the Tucson Old Fashioned (made with local Whisky del Bac) $16 and I tried the "Mexico to Milan" - a Negroni made with Mezcal instead of gin $15. Both were outstanding - strong, flavorful, and not too sweet. Steaks arrived about 20 minutes after initial ordering (just right, not rushed) and were each cooked as ordered (medium). Note: steaks come plain - that is generally no sides or sauces. Avi had politely urged the mushroom mixta ($10) but I had (regretfully) passed. The fillet was solid/good, with a decent char, well salted, and pink through the middle. However, the Carne Asada stole the show, and it wasn't even close. That tenderized skirt steak, unadorned with interfering marinades, just exploded with rich beef flavor. The shrimp were merely "ok" especially at $15 and we would definitely skip next time in favor of another appetizer. We both worked much of this beautiful Saturday and even coincidentally missed our lunches, so dessert was a no brainer... as was the lava cake. Avi concurred, literally jumping with enthusiasm and adding that was his favorite and we would not regret it. She's normally not a huge sweets person (I am!) yet she also marveled at all of the flavors, textures (and temperatures) of this concoction. Final notes: the bill total will be after-tax which means you're calculating your tip with the tax included in the total, a pet peeve, but it appears to be the way all 'merican restaurants are trending now. We also noticed that with respect to the Carne Asada entree, compared to photos just a year ago, portion sizes appear to have shrunk a bit (20 percent?) while cost went up ($35-$39). Parking will be a challenge but there is a garage only 2 blocks away. Or, opt as we did, and make it a "downtown/4th Ave evening" and trolly your way here. There's a stop directly in front!

I tried to make reservations at another restaurant beforehand known for their prime rib, but they were booked full. So I reserved this place. Upon our arrival we entered the door on the right hand side of the building. We told them the name our reservation was under and they said it was for the restaurant next door on the left side of the building. It was for the more upscale restaurant as mentioned by the host. They have two restaurants by the same name that sit opposite of each other. I hear their counterpart is just as good. We entered the building from the left and told the host the name the reservation was under. The host wasn't as attentive as she should have been. She hardly even looked as us. We were standing there and she seemed to be busy with something else. No ' it'll be just a few minutes', nothing. She was talking with the other ladies. Finally we were seated. Our server was very nice. We decided on two steak dinners. My wife had the 8oz filet and I got the rib-eye both med-rare. Our steaks look good when we received it. But my steak was served rare! It was chewy and fatty. I chewed for days just to get a single piece down. My wife steak was overcooked to medium. There's nothing worse than an overcooked filet mignon! We don't like sending food back for obvious reasons. We've heard too many horror stories, not to mention I use to work in the food industry. As I mentioned, our server was very nice and attentive as well! She constantly checked on us and my tip reflected that! For a $170.00 bill, our meal was mediocre at best. Thanks for ending my wife's Mother's Day on a sour note!
