It is wild how this place survives. Add on the fact that the cashier who was also serving food had socks and open toes and back slides on. That's fun. 0/10 would not recommend. I'd rather just go get a McDonald's breakfast and it'll be better than this...

Being from the…read morenortheast, I have noticed that Brevard County has several bagel shops in the area, as well as hot dog places. Two things that I missed from the Northeast that I don't see on any normal basis down here in sunny Florida, but in Brevard county, both of these things have several options. Anyway, Bagel 13 is a good place to grab a bagel. Are the bagels the best I ever had? No. Definitely not. However, they are good especially considering that I am down here in Florida where I don't see bagels on a regular basis. Sometimes you have to look at the geography when considering giving it a grade. My go to at any bagel shop isn't everything bagel with cream cheese. Here, it is good. I truly had no complaints and as an overall rating I will give it five stars because I am taking the geography into account. There are not a lot of places to grab Bagels here in Florida and this is a decent place to grab a bagel to satisfy your bagel craving.

The location itself was easy to find and very centrally located, which made it super convenient for a quick breakfast stop. Now -- coming from a New Yorker -- I'll admit the ordering experience felt a little disconnected. The "language" of ordering a bagel just wasn't quite the same, and it threw me off a bit. I'm not saying someone has to be from New York to own or run a bagel place at all... but there's a certain savviness and familiarity that makes the experience feel more authentic. I also noticed they use Boar's Head for their deli meats. While that's a recognizable brand, it just doesn't quite deliver when you're talking about classics like pastrami or a true Reuben. If you're used to traditional deli quality, you may feel the difference. All in all, I appreciate supporting local and the convenience of the spot -- it did the job for a quick breakfast while traveling. With a little more deli depth and bagel-shop flow, it could really elevate the experience for visitors like me who come in with those Northeast expectations.
