Before Karaoke Champ, karaoke systems in NYC was a bit like the wild wild west. You just never knew…read morewhat you were going to get. Outside of the Duet franchise, Karaoke Champ has a song selection about as updated as they come. They're among the smartest people in the business. K-Champ has managed to capitalize on a local industry centered around karaoke venues that simply didn't have the bandwidth to manually update their songs to keep up with the demand. As a result, there is some consistency at similar venues and chances are if you have a go-to song at one place that uses the K-Champ system, it's probably the same # at the next. And if you haven't figured it out already, K-Champ is not a venue, but rather a karaoke system that is spreading around the city like wild fire. I've even seen it in San Francisco, at places like Yamasho's in the Tenderloin. The fact their song selection transcends English is fantastic. Nothing says versatility like being able to pick from Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish as well. I imagine there is a reason Korean isn't part of the selection, but let's hope that's just a temporary thing. Not sure if your song is part of the mix? Just check the entire catalog online: http://www.karaokechamp.com/song_search.html So as long as the system continues to get better, I don't see it as a "monopoly" problem in the industry. There is always going to be competition on the song selection front and it seems like karaoke is here to stay in NYC. Lastly if you guys at Karaoke Champ are reading this, I would really appreciate it if you would please add "Ludacris - What's Your Fantasy?" and "LL Cool J - Doin It" to your selection.

The only problem I had was connecting the wires on the back of the machine after I moved locations from one night to the next. The diagrams in the user manuals could be a bit better :) Luckily, I have some great audiophile/dj friends who saved the day. Phew! get your rental here and you'll be very happy, I promise you. No fuss, direct, straight forward, and happy people.

We headed to Shout Karaoke in Astoria, and anyone who knows me knows I have always had a soft spot for karaoke. For many years it was a regular part of my life, and these days I keep it going through the Smule karaoke app. This past Saturday reminded me just how much fun it is to do with a group of friends. We had a great time, plenty of laughs, and a really enjoyable night overall. Shout Karaoke is located on Steinway Street and is easy to get to on the R line. The commute was quick and straightforward. Up front there is a bar area where you can sing and socialize, which is pretty standard for karaoke spots. They also offer smaller and larger private rooms with a set rate per person per hour. For the room we booked, the rate before 8pm was $5 per person per hour with a minimum of 15 people, and after 8pm it increases to $9 per person per hour. The pricing feels very reasonable for what you get. I did not drink alcohol so I cannot speak to liquor prices, but ginger ale ran about $3 each, which is fair for a bar setting. The music selection is well organized with both book and tablet options for browsing, and the catalog is extensive in both English and Spanish. The space was clean, comfortable, and the staff was genuinely friendly throughout the night. I will absolutely be back to Shout Karaoke. It is a great find in the Queens area and well worth checking out.

The first time i came here, my cousin rented a room for karaoke for her bday and we brought bottles and ate before coming. It was about 8 of us. It's very affordable and we even got some more drinks in the lobby after. The second time my friend wanted to come for her birthday we had a much smaller room as it was only 5 of us. Same good experience your rent per person per hour and it's very affordable. The last time i came was for my bachelorette party. I didn't want the traditional vibes i wanted a night out with the girls and my cousin booked a party bus and time here. We got a huge room upstairs as it was more than 12 of us and we had a great time singing 80-90s and early 2000s music esp boy bands which are my favorite. The staff here is nice and friendly and everything is very clean except the restroom. Restroom is small and a bit dingy, def needs an upgrade but otherwise, clean. I would def come back for a girls night out or celebration. It's my fave karaoke location for sure

You have access to the very comfortable living room, full kitchen and fridge, a lovely bathroom, and a backyard for when you need a break from the noise (or to smoke, etc.). You can bring in your own booze and snacks, a crowd of your friends, and sing your little hearts out. Roberto and Zaida are your hosts, and Roberto will act as your karaoke DJ for the evening. You request songs via paper note, and he'll call you up. Their microphones are quality (and there's an electronic sanitizer for safety), the setup is fun and easy, and everyone had a good time when I came through. It's quite loud for a residential building, so the soundproofing on the apartment must be excellent. Make sure you bring a good crowd that actually wants to sing, and you'll have fun.

This was my…read moredaughter's Sweet 16 -- a once-in-a-lifetime event that we spent so much time, money, and effort planning -- and the most important parts of the night were not properly captured. Those memories are gone forever, and that is something I am having a very hard time accepting. I specifically booked your company for the hours that I did because I wanted the beginning of the night documented. I wanted family photos taken before the event started, the details captured, and the cocktail hour photographed and filmed. Instead, the entrance was delayed, everything became rushed and disorganized, and the moments that mattered most to me were missed completely. What makes this even more upsetting is that I truly did not care about the end of the night being covered. Your photographer and videographer clearly saw guests leaving around 10 PM and the room emptying out, yet the beginning of the event -- the part I specifically paid to have documented -- was neglected. I did not need footage of an empty ballroom. I needed the beginning of my daughter's special night captured properly. That is just part of the email that I sent. But long story short if you want your photographed properly I absolutely would not hire this and that's coming from my own personal experience because they thought it was acceptable to show up one hour late rather than 20 minutes early to my We literally waited for them to arrive so we can have our entrance to the ballroom so disgusting and shameful
