My car was empty in a parking lot in July when another driver hit it. I wasn't behind the wheel. There's a police report, paperwork, a conversation with the driver who hit it that I could have lived without. There is nothing good about having your car damaged in an accident. The only good thing was, I didn't have to think about where to bring the car. I already knew, because of what happened to my son. He'd been in his own accident, a year before mine, and I was in New York City when it happened, too far away to do anything but worry. Richard Porcelli did what I couldn't. He sent a tow truck. He took my son under his wing the way a parent would, calmed him down, sat with him through one of the worst days of his life. I wasn't there for that. Richard was. I don't forget things like that, and I wasn't about to take my own car anywhere else. Porcelli's has been on Providence Street in West Warwick for more than forty years, and there's a difference between a business that's been doing something a long time and one that's just been open a long time. Those aren't the same thing. You can feel which one you're standing in. My insurance adjuster, a man I'd never met before this, told me flat out that his company likes working with Porcelli's. Honest, he said. Good work. Integrity. That's not a word insurance adjusters throw around freely about anyone. I ended up not at fault, so no deductible, and Porcelli's set me up with a rental. Given how the insurance company usually handles that part, I was bracing for whatever the cheapest available option was. Instead I drove off in a 2024 Jeep Compass. I was pleasantly surprised, though knowing Porcelli's by then, I probably shouldn't have been. The adjuster told me not to expect the car back before August 28th. I got the call today, August 6th, that it's done. It still needs an inspection, and instead of telling me to bring it back separately for that, they told me they'd put it up right away so it would already be finished by the time I came to get it. Nobody asked for that. It just happened, the same way it happened for my son, which is really the whole point. Porcelli's doesn't perform well once. It performs the same way every time. It's not an exaggeration to say that Porcelli's will treat you like family. If you ever find yourself needing them, and I hope you don't, you'll understand exactly why I told you to come here. read more

I didn't have any experience with a body shop but my car dealer recommended Mike at Porcelli's, and it was pretty easy to set up my appt and get my car fixed. I needed my bumper exchanged since someone backed into mine and also had some scratches on the side of my door where people opened their car doors on mine -___-. Mike and his team were quick to get my car back to me within the same day and were very helpful with my questions and knew how to fix it all up making it look like a brand new car!! I cannot say enough good things about the team at Porcelli's. As you can imagine, I was pretty grumpy when I recently brought the car in for body work, and I was fairly persistent calling for updates. The staff was calm and pleasant. They always communicated clearly and honestly with me, even when that meant my car wouldn't be ready when I hoped it would be. Their pricing was better than any other place I've been to, and they quickly and pleasantly corrected a mistake and lowered the price when I pointed it out. They were deeply apologetic and explained how the mistake happened. Finally, and most importantly, the car looks great! The work is top-notch. Thankfully, we don't have to go to a body shop all that often, but when that happens, we take our cars to Porcelli's without a second thought. read more

I bought a vehicle from Jim about 7 mos ago. He walked me through the whole process and has been very patient and understanding with every annoyance I have bothered him with and there have been many. The beginning of Nov two of my Rogue was making a weird noise, on my way to class, like the caliper was stuck. I immediately came home. I called Jim and he came to my house to check it out. The caliper was indeed stuck, and had gouged my rotor. He had it brought right into the shop to find out the why. We later found out that two of my lug nut bolts had snapped, when I had accidently caught a curb a week or so prior. He and Mike went about getting the problem fixed. He also made sure I had a vehicle to use, even though my insurance did not cover rentals, and he did not have to, while he fixed the Rogue. When someone hit the loaner car, while parked near my house. I panicked and was really anxious about it. I called the police to report the hit and run. Then called Jim. He simply came looked at it, told me it would all be fine, to call my insurance company. He and his whole team have been wonderful to me. When it was all said and done, I only had to pay my deductible. He is an honest man and came through for me from the start. Went to this dealer after my 16 year old son saw a Toyota Solara he wanted to purchase. I test drove it and my son put a deposit on the vehicle. Jim said there was a leak in the convertable top gasket but it had been fixed by his mechanic already and no need to worry. I also noticed the car shook on the highway. Once again he told us not to worry. He would have it fixed because he had to inspect it before we left the lot with it. We made arrangements that Friday I would pick the car up. Friday came around and Jim texted me saying he needed to cancel. I told him I couldn't and my son needed the car for work that weekend. He agreed to keep our original delivery of the vehicle. I went to pick up the vehicle and noticed the inspection sticker was still the same. Jim then informed me that he wanted to talk to me about that. (NEVER SAID A WORD ON THE PHONE) He stated it would not pass inspection even though no lights were on. He told my son that the car was taken off the computer for some time and needed to be driven. Jim told my son he was going to let him drive it for a week and come back with it after a week so they could try to inspect it again. My son drove it off the lot and within 4 hours the brake line went in the car. My son managed to put his foot all the way to the floor on the brake pedal to make the vehicle stop and not cause an accident. My son and his father the next day replaced the brake line with their own money. During that week you could start to hear the car get noisy from the exhaust and it also rained and the car had water in it from the convertible top gasket that was clearly never fixed. Before I returned the car, I made a stop at my mechanic who told me the catalyt convertor had a leak in the exhaust, the exhaust system needed to be replaced and the hood latch was busted so the hood could lift up at any time and the car was completely unsafe to drive. I let Porcelli's know of my findings. Jim asked me if they fixed these things how would they be assured we wouldn't walk away...I told him if the things were fixed we would not need to. He told me he would let the owner know of my findings and get back to me. That was Monday. On Thursday I called cause I didn't hear back. He said the car was more money than they anticipated and they would lose money to fix it. He would have go fix it and sell it for more to compensate on the difference. He also said the only mechanic he had was also on a leave so there was noone that could fix it anyways. Jim and the owner should of fixed the car for my son and sold it to him like they were supposed to when they posted it for sale. Instead they held on to my sons deposit of a grand for a month and my son ended up with nothing and they got a free brake line off of him. BAD SERVICE. I would give 0 stars if it let me. read more

scammmers... sold messed up tranmission from day 1. almost a month still refusing to fix it under warranty... engine came on at 3 weeks . telling us we drove 4000 miles in 3 weeks.. my bf was averaging like 500 with lyft a week so explain that one. lyft app tracks that. anyways telling us wont cover from the warranty company cause they didnt mark as commercial. sorry but not paying 4000 for new transmission after 3 weeks of owning the car.. refuse to talk to me or give us the plates.. take your business elseware. we only went here cause my income is wierd to track kind of. we literally could afford brand new car but settled here worst mistake ever. will just screw you... after spending 2500 down.. dont waste your money here. it will be nothing but headaches and stress. i gave them 3 weeks before this bad review came. failed to help me fix there error to the warranty .. it was 2015 read more

Best car repair shop that I've ever been to. It's hard to find a place that you trust when you're a clueless girl when it comes to cars but this place is THE REAL DEAL. First heard about Porcelli's from a friend who raved about it. I'm so happy I went--they had the best rates of all the auto shops that I checked for a window repair. They found me a new part for less than market price and my Honda is now as good as new. Jay is the chief mechanic there and he is AWESOME. Courteous, quick, and kind. He even fixed my broken Honda car key for me (a replacement would have been very expensive). I'm never going to pepboys again. Went in to get my nissan front bumper repaired, spoke with Jay, I believe he is the manager he was very personable and helpful, provided me with an estimate quickly. I then did my hw searching other shops reading their reviews. Procelli had the best. I was able to get set up with my rental car quickly and took about a week to repair my bumper. I bought a truck from these people ,they should stick to body repair , They have no clue when it comes to customer service or mechanics of a vehicle, all kinds of problems with truck , I live 50 mins away, gone back in forth to car dealership they say its all set and i get there the problem wasn't solved!!!! ,many wasted trips ,they kept the vehicle for three weeks, they loaned me a car for a couple of days, then called me to bring it back , saying they couldn't afford to pay for rental, so i was stuck with out a vehicle for the remainder of this time , not cool !!! After getting in an accident I went to multiple auto body shops to compare rates. Being a young girl with no accident experience Porcelli's absolutely took advantage of me. I wanted to pay out of pocket to avoid insurance hassle and Rich tried to talk me out of it claiming I had serious body damage, absolute scam to try to get me to pay more than I need and make me go through insurance when I did NOT WANT TO. Went to another autobody and they gave me a great rate $1500 cheaper out of POCKET like I asked. I will never refer anyone here looking for autobody repairs. read more

I brought my car here after a car accident and told Jay who runs the shop that I only wanted factory OEM parts installed on the car. I have a 08 Dodge SRT4 which was a limited release run of a sports car. I was assured when dropping the car off the finding used parts for this type of car would be impossible anyway due to the fact that they only build a couple thousand of them nationwide. Upon pick up of the car a month later, I was told that they installed a used bumper after all. There was no communication and no warning prior to pick up. The rear bumper seem does not line up correctly because of this. Jay absolutely did not listen to me and don't expect him to listen to you. I am now left with a car repaired in a manor I'm not happy with and basically left without options unless I were to try to sue. read more

I just had some work done on my car today by Porcelli's Auto Repair. I was taken care of immediately by Jim, the manager, who was exceptionally engaging, informative, CLEAR, and instructive. Obviously a true professional. Straightforward, attentive, engaging, and efficient even though my repair was a very small one. He had looked at what I wanted done, and gave me an estimate on the spot. I was given clear and precise instructions on how to get the paint from my dealer for my model of car for a perfect match, which was an easy transaction at the parts department of my local car dealer. Got the paint kit the next day, and Jim made an appointment for the repair right away. Took only 45 minutes and it was done perfectly. Very impressed by the work, and the employees at this shop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Unusually good service. Very pleasant experience. I wish I could give 10 stars instead of 5. I could tell they are proud of their work, which was excellent. read more
