Food was great. Somewhat of a language issue, but was ok. But charging for each item in tacos, lettuce, sour cream, etc ($.45) each?

Customer service was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Food was fresh and authentic. Prices are very reasonable. If we lived in town we would become regulars. Definitely worth a try. We had the queso dip, guacamole with chicharron, elote, steak taco with beans and rice as a side, and a bowl of menudo. read more

The staff here is great and has always been friendly. Unfortunately, the ownership has been disappointing. The restaurant is part of WCA's discount card program, which clearly advertises 15% off any purchases. This discount was honored throughout January on both food and alcohol, but the owner recently changed it in their system to apply only to food and will no longer honor the original agreement tied to the card. It's frustrating when a business participates in a discount program but then quietly changes the terms without notice. The inconsistency makes it hard to trust what's being advertised. read more

The chicken was so tender and with the size of the portions I had plenty leftover to take home for lunch the next day. I also loved the option of plantains as a side!! We visited Porfirio's for the first time last week. We ordered the rotisserie chicken because we'd heard it was good. Our chicken was dry and flavorless, and the seasonings used on it were not appealing. Our side of pinto beans contained MAYBE a half cup of beans, and our side of steak fries consisted of TWELVE (12) fries! No bread was served with this order. Also, chips and dips have to be ordered and are not offered as complimentary. We will not be back. read more

Porfirios is a relatively new mexican restaurant in Wilson, and my friends spoke so highly of it, I drove 52 miles to check it out. The hype is real! From the 100% health rating, to the fun decor, FANTASTIC shrimp ceviche, cold beer, salsa and burritos, my friends and I left full and happy. I'll definitely be back to have more of that ceviche. The addition of fresh mango and avocado is absolutely perfect :) Looking forward to trying more of the menu. read more

Talking about nickel and dime someone to death. I have eaten it several Mexican food places around this area. I went to get lunch and saw they had a ACP on the menu and it was a little higher than everywhere else local. So I ordered it. When it arrived, I asked the waiter where my tortillas were at. And he explained to me that there was a up charge for those that they don't come with it. The only dish they have that comes with tortillas as the fajitas. This is gotta be the first restaurant I've ever went into and ordered this dish and it did not have tortillas with it. They also have a very filled menu design as they have. The traditional dishes mixed with nontraditional dishes I eat to find the enchiladas. You either have to go under what meat you want or look under there build your own combo. Anyhow, I ended up running out of salsa, but was very cautious on asking for more due to the risk of being told it was extra. I think the owner of this place is. Out of touch with what the locals are willing to deal with. read more

Three of us went the other night we had a birthday and the service was good and the food was excellent. The only problem I had was the price of a picture of beer we had. We had Michelob ultra which we know is expensive but we should've asked how much a picture would cost and when we got the bill I nearly fell over two pictures for $47 which I thought was way out of line would recommend anybody going there if they're going to order beer make sure you ask the price. read more

On our last visit, we got takeout and I was disappointed that my cold salad, crispy steak fries and hot bbq ribs were packed in an airtight foil container. So what happened... the salad got warm, the fries soggy and the ribs were cold. I was not happy with this arrangement. read more

There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Wilson that you can choose from. Do yourself a favor, forget about all the others and head to Porfirio's! Everything we tried was excellent and the service was superb. On the appetizer menu, the empanadas and chimichangas are amazing! The carnitas burrito, shrimp enchiladas, and tacos were all so good! DO NOT EAT HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Literally came here to eat with my family because I visit once a year. It was the worst mistake we've ever made. My moms order was completely forgotten about ( a simple order of two tacos) and we had to wait 20 minutes to get our check and to go box. The wait staff all had an awful attitude and the food was absolutely horrible and overpriced. Save your money and eat elsewhere!!! I am sad this place exists in Wilson. read more

We're from CA so we've eaten a lot of Mexican food. The food here was pretty good. My friend wasn't crazy about her soup. She claimed there was masa or something that gave it an odd taste. My enchiladas were a little salty, but otherwise good. Margaritas were excellent. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I'd eat here again if I ever return to Wlson! read more

Tonight was our first visit and it was amazing! I don't know our server's name, but he was great. A young man, very friendly and attentive. The cheese dip was so good; most places have an ingredient that has a little bite, which I don't care for. Chips were fresh. We ordered the ribs, steak fries, green beans and beans. The ribs were tender and so delicious. Fries and beans were very good. The green beans weren't my favorite, but my husband liked them. We recently ate there yesterday, ordered the vegetarian spinach rolls, they need more vegetables inside and was not hot as it should have been. The beans was room temp and very small serving of course the rice was okay. Over all portions are small and food temps needs to be hot. What a find! We ordered the mixed fajitas for our entree. Great flavor and the homemade corn tortillas were very good. What took the cake were the homemade empanadas though. Wow! A definite must try.
