It is definitely one that a lot of people don't use and don't know about. It's pretty gorgeous and is mainly used for University City, the students and people who work there, and will get you over the factories and river into the nice part of town, or the other way into downtown. The traffic isn't too bad because like I said a lot of people don't really know about it. It's safer than the Walt Whitman Bridge and probably the Ben Franklin Bridge. Unfortunately it's named after Oliver Platt, but you can't have everything.

The Falls Bridge that gives you access to West River Drive (M.L.K.) and Kelly Drive. This also…read moregives you access to East Falls if you are coming from West River Drive. Not really much I can say about this bridge other than you can get to Point A ,and B with minimal to traffic at times. Minimal at times, but it can get jammed pack at certain times. During the day it doesn't look like much ,looks old, and decrepit , wondering how does it stay there without falling into the river. Don't worry it will not, they did some renovating to it, beefing it up to keep the on goers going. It is also well lit up at night so you can't miss it coming or going from there. Review over, not really much more to say about this bridge.

I don't think we would have seen it had we not been on an Old City walking tour. It's through a…read morepassageway between the B. Free Franklin Post Office and the Franklin Court Printing Office. The Benjamin Franklin Museum is also in the courtyard. There's really a lot of Benjamin Franklin history in this area since his house was at this location. It was torn down in 1812 because his descendents could no longer maintain it. It wasn't until 1950 that the National Park Service took on the excavation project that would eventually expose the foundation of his house and uncover many artifacts. The "Ghost Structures" that you see today were created as a way to preserve what was found. It was so cool to see the floor plan of the house, and to walk over the various rooms of what was once the Franklin home. His grandson's print shop was also uncovered. I must say that Independence National Historical Park, as a whole, really surprised me. There so much to see and learn. It's a lot to cover in such a short time. I think another visit is needed in the future.

Ok, I was headed to my nearest SS office when I noted that this location had a 5 star Yelp rating…read moreand I was like:"huh?". Well, let me tell you that rating is spot ON! I arrived on a Thur morning 30 min prior to opening and the most wonderful security person was already outside making sure folks lined up appropriately, but also informing folks what could NOT get done at this location (no new applications for a SS card), as well as the things that could be done on line so folks didn't waste time in line unnecessarily! And it got better from there: doors opened on time, check-in orderly, plenty signage explaining processes, the same officer even came inside and explained where to find the stations and the bathrooms! Then when I was called, the representative not only addressed my issue, but took time to explain other aspects of SS that were available to me! I have been to a number of SS offices in the Philly area and this was BY FAR the best experience. Did I mention I was out within 35 min? Only issue: street parking is limited, but office is assessable by SEPTA. This is my go-to office from now on! Make it yours
