Port Everglades offers both covered and uncovered paid parking options. Upon arrival, be prepared to show your driver's license to enter, and security may randomly select vehicles for inspection and ask a few questions. One thing that could definitely be improved is the signage. Once inside the port, there were no clear directions or signs showing where to go for the Royal Caribbean ship or any of the terminals. We had to drive around for a while before finally finding someone who could point us in the right direction. Once we located the drop-off area, the process was smooth and not too crowded around 9:30 AM. Debarkation was much easier than embarkation, and there were plenty of taxis waiting outside when leaving the port. I'm not sure whether Lyft is allowed inside the port area. Overall, the experience was okay, but better signage and directions would make a huge difference. read more

Came here to embark on a Disney Cruise. The port itself is pretty nice. Terminals clearly marked and pathways spacious and kid friendly. Our primary issue is just getting to your Terminal. Multiple ships come and go and most likely if you're leaving on a weekend (which most ships do), you're dealing with high traffic turnaround. The Disney Cruise Terminal is Terminal 4 which shares an entry with Terminal 3. There's merging traffic from both directions and its basically every car for themselves since there's no traffic direction, signs, or logic really. Luckily we had an aggressive Lyft driver that was pretty skilled in merging. We saw cars in front of us touch each other multiple times as they tried to merge. Just nuts. They need some traffic guards and organization when traffic backs up or you can just forget about getting to your Terminal on time. Our cruise ship said there's no point in getting there early but in our experience, plan an extra hour ahead of when you'd like to get there due to this poorly designed and executed drop off location. You'll have plenty of time to wait in line if you get lucky enough to get through the drop off point efficiently. read more

This port is SO much easier to access than Miami! The entrance was clearly marked, and our driver was able to drop us off right at the front door. Note there is a public restroom with an exterior entrance (which is nice if there are long lines). Security was efficient and we were whisked away to the Retreat boarding lounge- so comfy! They had snacks and drinks available while we were all checked in via a mobile device. Staff here were also super friendly which is a nice bonus. read more

The port is one of those places you don't want to willingly go to unless you are getting on a cruise to forget about this place for a bit. While it is a bit less chaotic than Miami's port, this one can still get overstimulating with the lack of directional maps and people coming from all around. They have people checking you in at a toll plaza to make sure you aren't carrying any weapons, which didn't make me feel safe because the lady asked with not a care in her voice, before sending us to the intersection where we had to find our ship. The layout is easy to navigate but that is about it, there are many backed up lanes that people are weaving in and out of at the last minute because they were in the right or wrong area and they didn't realize until the last minute. Pulling in the terminal we needed to be in wasn't any less crazy, we had three people telling us to go three different places to pull up all while also telling other cars to go to the same place they were directing us. I was shocked we didn't get into a fender bender because of all the different things they were telling everyone at the same time. read more

Visited Port Everglades to get on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the seas and overall it was smooth to get in but they have very limited parking so I advise to get there early. Their was probably only 10 handicap spots and they were all taken by 1pm. Parking is $25 per day. Will update my review with the complete total after 8 days on the ship and info on getting out of this lot, hoping it's not a nightmare. read more

I want to start by saying this port was way easier than the port of Miami. They have people at the front before you actually get into the port which I appreciate, because I didn't know my terminal. The roads were pretty empty trying to find the parking garage and this was around 11am. As the number of cruise ships in port increases ~ so does traffic. The entire city of Fort Lauderdale is negatively impacted by traffic congestion. There can be as many as 8 cruise ships in this port. Something needs to be done. Embarkation is not bad except for the amount of time it takes to get to the port. Disembarkation has become a nightmare. We waited an hour in the taxi line without a taxi in site. We finally found a way to get out of the port and then tried to get an Uber or taxi. Total nightmare. Why were there no taxis to pickup knowing there were 7 cruise ships in port? Port needs to work with the city. read more

Our recent Caribbean cruise on Celebrity Silhouette sailed from cruise terminal 25. The three of us took an Uber to get here from our nearby hotel. I booked it the night before and locked in $13 for a ten minute drive. We had carry on luggage so we went directly to the terminal. Everyone we encountered made sure we were boarding the correct ship as there were other cruise ships in port. Celebrity Cruises has its own terminal which was impressive. Big bold letters. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to take a photo. The staff inside was very professional and the process was very organized. This is busy port for cruise ships and cargo ships. Very busy port during sailing time. You may want to allow 45 minutes to enter the port by car. They have several terminal. There is shuttle services take you to the cruise terminal. Other than an expose parking lot, they have a palm garage can park 4000 car. The fee is based on on 24 hour parking day. Not daily. It is very convenient. Cruise terminal is very secure. The custom for the entry also easy. Overall we are feeling vacation mode to visit the terminal and with vacation result. read more

This port is pretty small compared to it's counterpart i would say the positives are it is pretty easy to navigate. They have some quality cruise lines sailing from here. They even have some transatlantic cruises departing from here that go to Europe. It is also pretty easy and not terribly far from where I live. That is a big bonus. The downsides are it can take a while to get through security. They also have far fewer ships and cruise lines that leave from here. I have only sailed from here twice and been on numerous cruises. They just don't have the space to accommodate too many cruise ships. If your ship leaves from here, it is an ok experience. read more

Took my first cruise out of this port last week for the Disney Dream. There is plenty of signs to direct you where to get dropped off or if you're parking your cars. All the staff were nonstop on the move getting people through the checkpoint with ease. The inside waiting area is very clean. They have a rideshare section for easy pickup after you get back from your cruise. My only complaint here is the inside waiting area is on the small side for a Disney cruise. They call people inside by their check in time. If you are there before your check in time even by 15 minutes you have to wait outside where there is no benches except for a couple by the rideshare pick up section. Also there is no air flow so if it is hot and humid like last week you will be sweating your butt off waiting. Once inside everything couldn't be more smooth on how they run it. read more

This place has got their act together. Kudos to one of the best ports and terminals(25). Traffic coming in/ out is so organized. Ubers are allowed to pull up to the doors. Exiting the terminal is quick. My only gripe is the elevators for people with multiple bags: open more elevators. This morning, they only had 1 of the 4 running. read more

Our recent experience with CruiseParking.com at FT Port Everglades was very disappointing. The parking lot was located in an active construction zone, which made it difficult for GPS to locate. We had to call for specific directions just to find the lot. While the shuttle to the cruise ship went smoothly, the return experience was frustrating. After our cruise, we called for pickup and waited approximately 90 minutes for the shuttle. We were with a group of other passengers, many of whom made multiple calls during that time. When we were finally picked up, we were told the delay was because we were waiting in the wrong pickup area. However, during my initial call, I clearly explained that the Caribbean Princess had docked at a different slip. Unfortunately, the driver was unaware of this. To make matters worse, when we returned to the lot, our friends discovered a flat tire on their vehicle and ended up waiting four hours for AAA assistance. Overall, the return logistics and communication were very poor and created unnecessary stress at the end of what had otherwise been a great trip. read more

Each year, this port imports millions of tons of clothing, furniture, foods and beverages, motor vehicles, machinery, and other commodities. Most trade partners are located in Central America and the Caribbean, but some trade partners are in South America, Europe, and Asia. For many years, I have visited the Port Everglades to embark and disembark on cruise vacations. Current cruise lines in this port include Celebrity, Cunard, Disney, Holland America, Princess, Ritz-Carlton, Royal Caribbean, Silversea, Viking, and others. Port Everglades is a short drive from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and from numerous hotels. Sometimes my taxi and ride-share drivers get confused when they are trying to find the exact location for my cruise ship near the several terminals and piers, but I have always been able to correctly direct the drivers. A few parking lots and garages are available, but I have never had to use them. For my most recent cruise in November, the U.S. Coast Guard's inspection of the cruise ship delayed the passengers' embarkation, so the line of passengers was very long and slowly moved. The port had security checkpoints where drivers and passengers had to present government-issued photo IDs and cruise documents. The employees inspected luggage as efficiently and politely as possible. An employee took my husband's and my suitcases and delivered them to our room without losing or damaging them. At the end of our cruise, we had to wait in a very long line of costumers as we disembarked the cruise ship, but the employees from the cruise line and the government performed their jobs fairly quickly. We carried our suitcases off the cruise ship ourselves, cruise employees scanned our ship cards one last time, and security used a facial-biometrics machine to verify our identify. read more

I live in Miami and usually drop friends and family at that port. It's an easy in and out. Security is tighter in FTL with every car being stopped and ID's must be produced for ALL passengers so be ready. I left my ID at home by mistake and it became a big deal causing a decent delay. Just seems bizarre that 2 ports so close to each other have such varying degrees of operation. Signs a re well marked, ships easy to find and port staff were all friendly and professional. read more

I went to pick up my niece and her boyfriend, who just got back from a cruise. I approached Port Everglades from A1A, so after driving over the 17th street bridge, I made a left on Eisenhower, which lead me directly into the port area. The city of Ft. Lauderdale is used by several cruise lines as an embarkation and disembarkation point for Caribbean cruises. The actual port in Ft. Lauderdale is known as Port Everglades, and it is the third-busiest cruise port in the world, drawing almost 3 million cruise passengers in its 11 cruise terminals. As I approached the gate control area, I had to show my ID. They ask you questions about if you are carrying any firearms and they want to visually inspect your vehicle..Once you drive inside there are many signs telling you which way to go depending on the terminal you are looking for. I wanted terminal 18 and thanks to the Waze GPS app, I was able to find it fairly easily. The main issue approaching the pickup area is that there are several ways to drive into the curbside pick up area and there are many sheriff and traffic control cops that make it a bit confusing on where to go...also once you are in this area, there are not many clear signs on how to proceed. After a while, I was able to drive to the correct area, which was the private pick up area ... located after the ride share area and the taxi area. Waze told me how to get out of there and pick up I-95 to get back home.... It was an adventure...LOL... read more

This is a sprawling cruise port with space for at least six cruise ships. It is important to know where your ship is docked as you don't want to be dropped at the wrong dock. I think the terminals are numbered 19-29. You can take an Uber or Lyft all the way to your ship. It is also an easy taxi ride from the airport or all the local hotels. You don't need to be crammed on a shuttle! The views from most ships are pretty spectacular when leaving and entering the port. If you are reading this review you are probably going on a cruise so have a wonderful week. read more

Located just east of the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, this port is defintely less glamorous and more down to business for cruise ships than Port Miami. You do have to go through security to enter the port area showing your id and cruise boarding passes. Signage for where to go in the terminals is there but could be a little clearer. This is a very loud port due to the gas tankers, cargo containers, and general cruise ship traffic. Overall it's a convenient, smaller, and easy to get in and out of port. read more

Port Everglades is now the 3rd busiest cruise port in the country with 1.72 million passengers. First is Port Canaveral which is the closest port to Orlando, and had 4.07 million passengers; Second is Port of Miami which is only 28 miles from Port Everglades and had 4.02 million passengers (another tidbit: it has the record for most number of passengers going through it in one day: 67,594). Port Everglades being third, can handle eight cruise boats at the same time. So I looked up these observations to clarify what I felt were 4 extremely hectic days of embarkation/debarkation when my brother and I took 2 back-to-back cruises from this port. The first was a 8 night cruise on the Celebrity Reflection, making stops at Virgin Islands (both U.S. and British), Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten, Dominican Republic. It's obviously very important to know which terminal your ship is docked at: when I looked this up in the Celebrity app, it stated 19, but later changed to 29. At the end it didn't matter. What was important was to know the name of your ship, and your rideshare driver knows enough to get you there. First, you have to got through a security checkpoint to enter the port, and the passenger must show ID and boarding pass to the security officer. Then it's a lot of driving around to get to the right one. The ships here are spread apart, so it's clear if you are going to the right one or not...what's bad is that walking between terminals probably isn't feasible (in case you make a mistake). We ended back to terminal 25, 8 days later Getting off the boat through the terminal was very easy: a simple photo taken for passport control (didn't have to show passports) and a walk across customs (being ready to stop if an officer picks you randomly). There were the expected, long and winding ramps to take to get out to the curb, but nothing too hectic. The area for ride shares was very full, with officers being very directive about what to do. The ordere.d Lyft came within 10 minutes, and loaded within 5. The driver gave us a hint that if the terminal across the street seems empty, it's a quicker pickup to avoid the crowds. There are quite a few national brand hotels close to the area, and the rideshare to it ended up costing around $20. I didn't see any area for easy shuttle pickup, and with the number of terminals, it would take forever for a shuttle to have to stop by each one to see if there is pickup. It's worth taking a rideshare. The second was a 5 night cruise on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas, making stops in the Bahamas (once for their private island: Coco Cay, the other for Nassau), leaving from Terminal 18. This time we took a shuttle from our hotel, costing $9 per person. It was definitely more relaxing than the rideshare and once our driver knew our ship, he knew exactly where to go. It dropped us off right at the line of people going into the terminal to check-in. After a trip through security and a passport scan, we were onboard the ship. It probably took under 30 minutes. Arriving back, we used Terminal 19 and intentionally left later in the morning, after 9 am. It was even more crowded once we got to the terminal, with people waiting for their ride. That being said, getting a rideshare wasn't too difficult (only one cancellation), and the fare to our hotel nearby was under $10. One just has to be ready to flag down your ride as soon as you see it...one wish: what happened to license plates in the front...kinda hard to validate your ride if you have to let it pass by you first. read more

I've never been to a port for a cruise before so not sure what to expect. It was insanely busy when I went, but other than the uber sitting in a line, everything else moved along pretty quickly. I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and the signs from the area you drive in were clearly marked and even lit, so I imagine if you come early in the morning or late in the evening then everything would be very easy to find. There were employees verifying you and your driver prior to entry - a quick ID check and you were on your way. Once dropped off, we left our luggage with the porter, gave a handsome tip, and sure enough our bags were in our room around the time we were. From the porter, we stood in a long security line but it went fast since it was just a drop your bags on the belt and walk through an X-ray machine, so not a big deal. The lady was screaming at the top of her lungs and none of the staffers wanted to be there, yay. From there the next line split into many many many many many lines for the cruise to check you in. And they were not moving very quickly but my check in was like 2 mins so I am not sure what gives. Overall, it was efficient and fine for being the busiest port. read more

Be prepared to get through security very easily on your way out to sea, but wait in painfully slow lines while a single immigration officer checks everyone back into the country. For being a single agent serving all the folks who were on the boat with us (about 500 people), he was very cheerful and polite when we finally got to the front of the line. Unfortunately, instead of receiving clear and courteous guidance, I was met with a rude and condescending attitude. The guard's tone and manner made an already stressful situation worse and left me feeling unwelcome. I believe all guests should be treated with respect, especially when seeking help.
