I've stayed at a number of lodgings up and down The Broadwalk and this place is one of my favorites. Excellent location, very centrally located. The reception staff was very friendly and efficient. Check in was smooth and simple. The property is very well maintained. I shared a 2 bed room with my son and while the double beds are a little short for us (we're both 6'3") they were very comfortable. One touch I really enjoy - 4 standard sized pillows, per bed! I'm so annoyed with the little throw type pillows, that so many places seem to be using now. There was a full kitchen, with sink, microwave, refrigerator, toaster and stove. Cabinets filled with dishes, glasses, cups and silverware. Granite countertop. Dining table with seating for 4. The bathrooms are really small and we both hit our heads on the wall towel rack, but they are very functional and I appreciate the extra space allotted to the living area. Great shops and restaurants are literally located just outside your door, as is a wonderful park with paddle ball courts, splash pad and an incredible outdoor gym. There is NO INTERNET OR TV at this "resort" hotel! It wasn't down or anything. It just doesn't work! I spoke with the maintenance guy and he said it never worked. The signal is extremely weak and the management said it is just that way and there is nothing they can do about it to fix it. Even the TV buffered really bad. Maybe 10 seconds of viewing before it buffers or restarts. Parking is horrible even with the $21 a day parking pass. I will say the rooms are OK. Nothing special. No coffee in the rooms. No coffee available in the hotel at all. You have to walk to the broadwalk and pay $5 for a lousy bitter cup of coffee. I expectEd better for $350 a night. I will not be back. read more

For travelers looking for a family friendly, and reasonable price spot, look no further than the Caribbean Resort. You can walk to the beach in a minute from here. Also you are close to Florio's Italian restaurant, which serves all meals, and Ocean Grocers that has the basics. Check in and out were handled fast. Nice staff, and there's a tiki lounge on site also. This is convenient to everything. Only strange things I found, were the door hanging signs for "Do Not Disturb" don't stay on the door due to wind. Also doors pull outwards rather than the traditional push to get in, once you use your room door key. Other than that, and that's small potatoes, is the rest was super. The rooms are quite spacious, and although TV channels are basic, most will be out and about. Thank you for the high pressure showers. Those feel great after hiking or running the adjacent Broadwalk. Love the AC units to offer a brief reprieve from the heat, and also liked the microwave, refrigerator, and oven. Without a doubt this is a older but well taken care of property. Bye no means this is a 3 star or 4 stars resort. I would give it a two for location.I booked the room for 295.00 a night for the large suite, one king and one queen bed, the price came down to 195.00 at check in time, they would not come down in price at all. Plus 21.00 dollars a day to park.Would never stay here again. Also the tiki bar only has wine base vodka and rums and other wine base liquor. They actually only have a wine and beer license so be aware of that also.No signage saying it wine base drinks. read more

This was 1st time my wife and I stayed at this place.....it will be our last time! We arrived at the resort late Thursday night & enjoyed the pool which was right outside our room (#108). The room was nice and came with a fridge & stove. BUT come Friday @ noon time until Monday morning we had no hot water. We had to ask for maid service on Sunday when we received no fresh towels when we put the tag on the door Saturday morning. Also none of the washers worked so we couldn't do laundry. The place has good potential but management wouldn't agree to adjusting our bill SO I put in a charge dispute with our credit card company. Decent for the area, but really leaves a bad taste in your mouth when they steal your stuff. We left behind a shirt and dress after checking out and called the same night when we unpacked and realized we left the items behind. We were told they'd speak to the housekeeping manager and that's the last we heard. Also, don't count on the sofa bed.. smallest thing I've ever seen and it was broken. It's quite noisy at night with the bar and boardwalk nearby, but that's to be expected on a holiday. All in all you get 2 stars for location. read more

Fantastic little resort co conveniently conveniently located on Hayes Street. Upon check-in to give you two free shots at the tiki bar right for the office. The location is phenomenal the rooms are nicely updated very nice. They do have a complementary coffee in the morning at the tiki bar which is nice. After we checked out we were able to leave our bags in the office for a few hours while we got our last couple of hours at the beach. All of the staff is very very friendly and the hotel is located one block from the boardwalk. The pool is small ,very clean and nice. For an older place it has been updated throughout and looks very nice. All of the staff are extremely friendly which made the experience much more pleasurable. The room is priced right. Do not recommend it here. You'll pay $1300 to be disappointed. There's major construction going on being the hotel, that a great way to wake up after traveling with 2 children at 6:30 am. I've known about this place for years and thought it would be perfect for my family. Tiki bar downstairs, ocean and broad walk right there. No, tiki bar is shut down, but yet still advertised. There is absolutely no water pressure in the shower, but the shower as you come off the beach is just fine. the shower in my room should be just fine. One towel for a room that sleeps 4 damn well knowing I have 4 people here. When I called to get towels I was ignored by the front office staff, walked down there, no one here. Then ended up having to call the emergency line to ask for this. She said nothing she can do and she'd be here when she got here. I shouldn't even be having to call down there, these things should already been in the room. Also, when people call and you watch the phone ring and then they walk down into the office to see you on your personal phone isn't ok. Your job and your guest come first. Will not be staying again, and if I could get my money back and stay elsewhere I would! read more

This place was ok. Not the best but not the worst. Definitely don't stay here if you are a light sleeper. The tiki bar that is connected to the resort (right outside of all the rooms) played live music until 1am every night of our stay. Also the bathrooms are extremely small. You have to turn sideways to walk into the shower. If you are super tall, go somewhere else or you won't get to close the door while you use the toilet. Definitely a cheap place and a good location. The Caribbean Resort by the Ocean is in a fantastic location, steps from the Broadwalk in Hollywood, and basically as close to the beach as you can get without being right on it. It's super convenient and the tiki bar is a great place to hang out in the evening. It has live music and friendly bartenders. That's where the vacation ended for us with the Caribbean "Resort" by the Ocean. The cost per night was about $250 with a $250 deposit so we were expecting something halfway decent for a small "mom and pop" near the beach. We were told there were rooms poolside and tiki side but that there were only tiki side rooms available so we took what we could. Room 115 reeked of mold and mildew when we entered and had DampRid buckets on top of the kitchen counters. We didn't say anything to the staff at the time because we wanted to change and get onto the beach, and honestly, I'm not sure the smell hit us too hard at first. Later that evening, after dinner we headed back to the hotel (motel?) and the tiki bar was busy, there was very loud music. Our room was right off of the bar but we couldn't hear it that much in the room. As we got ready for bed the smell started to get to us. We're both in our 40s, and healthy but had we been older, a child, had some kind of immunodeficiency problem, asthma, or ill, we would have been in serious trouble - and good thing we weren't staying there for long. It was difficult to sleep in there. We really could not spend much time in our room due to the odor. The next day it was pretty hot out and we wanted to swim in the pool. We put on our suits and went in search of it but couldn't find it. We went into the office to ask where it was but we were told that the pool that had been mentioned when we booked our room, wasn't accessible to our room (remember, we were on the tiki side, not the pool side) - the pool was for another hotel they manage next door. We were flabbergasted and felt like we'd be lied to about the amenities provided in the establishment. We didn't argue the point and spent the day on the beach - pissed but whatever.... That night, unable to spend time in our room due to the odor, we approached the staff at the desk about the mold/mildew and got an "apology" that sounded like an "I don't care". After we spent a while explaining how bad it actually was, and how dangerous it was, we were switched to another room - next to the pool!!!! (PS TV in that room did not work) At this point, it was 10 pm and we had a 5 am flight so we went to bed. My advice is if you want to stay here, ask to see and smell your room before you plop down any money. Ask if you have access to the pool. Check the TVs and all appliances, showers, beds, everything in your room before you make a commitment). If you read through some of the low reviews, you will see that some other people say their TVs don't work or their shower was broken, or they did not have access to the pool. Just check everything before you commit because they will charge you once they take your cc. As I said, the location is great, but things may not be as they seem. read more

Caribbean Resort, a small little world of its own tucked away in the middle of Hollywood Beach. It was a perfect find for us, as I mentioned it is its own little world made up of a few different building of all different types of rooms I am guessing. I can only speak about our room, second floor right in front of the pool, very clean, updated, comfortable, awesome A/C, kitchenette, comfy bed, so in other words terrific. One block to the beach, also terrific. Parking for guests right in front, terrific again. Tiki Bar located right on the property with a small view of the beach but literally 100 feet to the Broadwalk which is basically their Boardwalk where all the action is and there is a lot of action that's for sure. The action is all during the day and early evening, not much of a late night scene anywhere around there but that's nothing to do with the resort. Lastly before I forget, the bartenders at the Tiki Bar are pretty great. I think the young lady during the day is Christina, she is so sweet and full of great drinks and info. At night you will meet Molly, seasoned and fun she will make your evening fun and her extra skill is getting you a 10% discount on your tab at some local places by writing her name on a piece of scrap paper and then writing the name of the place and the discount amount. At first I didn't believe it would work but we went to two places that she wrote on the paper and they did give us the discount no questions asked. The bartender even asked for us to rip off the top of the paper like it was a coupon so we could receive the discount. Wait, one last thing you don't want to miss. If you can you must meet Boris! I'm guessing he is the owner? He is a character though and he was in the office when we arrived, after a minute or two of conversation he decided to buy us a drink and walked us to the bar and helped us start our week off with a drink on him. The location is great and the rooms are recently updated. They do have complementary coffee in the morning at the tiki bar which is a nice touch. When I booked this I was excited as it appeared very nice online. We checked in late and the office staff told me they would send me an email with the code to get my key. I never received the email until I called 2 hours before I arrived. Our TV was broke and we asked 3 different staff at the office to please send someone and they never did so we had no TV for 4 days. The hot water ran out in the middle of the shower on the first night. There is no ice machine. You can not use the pool even though it is the same hotel unless you stay in certain rooms. The few nice things were the tiki bar, bartenders, and nice seating around the tiki bar. I will not stay here again. There are other options and better places. This hotel was actually pretty decent! I paid about 110 bucks for one night for a nice two person studio. Full kitchen, queen size bed. The only two things I can say, just to get out the way, is that the wifi did not work while we were in the room. We had the password and everything but none of our devices would connect. Secondly, the hot water in the shower was just not hot enough. It was warm, maxed out. Still, these are small nitpicks. The hotel is about 70 feet from there beach/boardwalk and there are plenty of things to do. Tons of activities like bike riding, restaurants and live shows playing at night. It's a calm area, clean and cozy and relaxing. The beach is clean and the boardwalk is nice to walk through. Check in was swift and easy but the only thing is the extra parking. Parking was 20 dollars a night extra so the hotel came out to about 130 for one night. Well worth it, plus 2 free welcome shots at the tiki bar! Location was excellent. One building (not block) from the beach, with nearby food and shopping. Tiki bar was a nice touch. Way better value and more family conducive than anything on Miami Beach. DO NOT STAY HERE! Horrible management staff. They cancelled my booking. My deposit was never applied nor returned to my bank. The Manger Amanda was never on site when needed. Room had no cold AC or cold water in shower. And that was just 1 of the 6 rooms rented by my family. Every room had a problem. It was hard to sleep and stay asleep in this hotel. If you value your sleep, peace and quiet, stay away! My husband kept telling me I did a bad job choosing this place. It all started with very cold check in process, the girl working in the office knows nothing about customer service, no "hellos" no "welcome," nada! Then when we saw our room and its location, all things went way down south. The room was a good size, with a few additions compared to a hotel. There was no hair dryer, no bath mat, and there was no room in the toilet, even a smaller person like me can't sit straight, i have to sit in an angle just to fit. The bathroom and closet were dingy and a lil dirty. The bed's side was right against the window which makes it so much easier to hear the people and noises at the bar, dinning area, kitchen and bbq area-- all of these right next to our room, literally 2-5 feet away!!! Even when we get back at 11pm, party was still going on by the bar. And as early as 6am, you'd hear everyone outside. It was just maddening! Please be warned! 2 stars because of location, so close to the beach and on the boardwalk. read more

Great location, loved the pool, loved getting new towels everyday. The Tiki bar was very convenient and the prices were good. We took our youngest Daughter and her two friends for their senior trip and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The only negative thing was we had a late flight coming into Hollywood and the manager never emailed us our code to get in so we had to call the energency number at Midnight and Thank goodness she answered. Third time staying here. Our yearly visit to Hollywood. Rooms can be small or large depending on where you are placed. Always clean, and small good. Bathrooms are newly renovated and stocked with toiletries. Rooms and bathrooms are renovated. The "Resort" portion has a pool to use. The tiki bar is a dependable and entertaining stop. All I can say is RUN as far as you can from this place. The staff is horrible. They always seemed annoyed they have to get off the Internet or their phone to actually help you with something. Your car will be illegally towed at the command of the hotel so be prepared to pay an extra $125 on top of the high rates for this dump. I travel alot and have stayed at many hotels and this definitely is not to be considered a hotel or resort for that matter. I had many issues with this place so I request to speak to a manager but not one is ever on duty, no calls or emails were ever returned and when I did call them they would hang up on me. Horrible incompetent customer service. They couldn't find our reservation first. Then when they finally found it, it was for the wrong dates. Room is only made up every 3 days. The shower didn't have any hot water the first day. When I made the owner, a Russian guy aware of the situation, he didn't even care, not even I'm sorry for your inconvenience. I was there over 1 hour waiting after a long trip. Thanks God I printed out the reservation page, else I would be screwed. They could have at least ordered free parking or a dining voucher. Not customer friendly at all. I'm afraid to get this hotel again should I book with Priceline or Hotwire, as they reveal hotel name after you book for their hotrates. Location is fantastic and room was clean upon check-in which is the only reason I can give them a 3. Not once was my room cleaned during my week long stay and fresh towels were only provided when I asked for them. Stingy too - fresh towels only for the exchange of exact number of dirty towels and was never provided fresh beach towels. While my room was clean, the common areas were not. Two TINY restrooms (one near pool and one near bar) that were gross. Again, location is GREAT and room clean enough to feel comfortable sleeping so if you are just on a short trip and/or you are restricted by budget, this place works. read more

When we first arrived, the hotel and room seemed nice, but gradually the number of things wrong built up until it became clear this was the worst hotel of our trip. Things wrong with hotel: - arriving, there is no checkin parking at all, nor any signs to the parking lot of the hotel. I had to send my wife into the office on her own while I had to pull onto the next street to park temporarily. - the front desk person did not speak english well and had us sign someone else's hotel form (so I had to come back to the office after we had gotten to the room) - parking in this area is definitely tough, but still, $15.90/night is exorbitant. And we had no choice, all other parking in the area is even worse. Nasty hidden practically necessary fee. - no bath mat - broken bathroom vent - AC blows debris that looks like animal feces all over the bed, so we couldn't use that at all (which sucked given that the bathroom vent was broken) - broken shower faucet - dirty floor - no good place to hang a hand towel or towel - insufficient counter space - can't turn shower head - key sticks in door lock at times - sheets on bed not good quality - felt horribly damp in the room by the time we left the next morning, very glad we only stayed one night. - No hairdryer!!! What kind of hotel room that actually has a kitchen doesn't have a hair dryer? Turns out they keep the hairdryers in the office for some bizarre reason. - the front office doesn't open until 9am!!! So when we went to go ask them about the missing hairdryer, they weren't open. Thank goodness our flight left later in the day. Good things about hotel: - the tiki bar was great - having a little kitchen area was nice (even though that made the bathroom kinda small) - they have a lot of appliances and cooking utensils available (and yet no hairdryers) - nice granite counter tops - great location next to the beach We told them about these issues on our way out, so hopefully they will get on top of them. Stayed here with my mother in March. Two-bed room with a kitchenette and bathroom was very affordable, and the location was perfect... Literally steps from the beach! The employees were friendly towards us, and the office gave us a hair drier for the week. They also had beach towels and chairs to borrow. We did not have a car, and we had no complaints with outside noise. Yes, the bathroom was small, but the majority of our time was spent on the beach or outdoors. 0 stars!!! My family & I have rented this hotel in the past & have loved our stay. This past weekend we booked over 15 rooms with them to find out its under new ownership. The new owner was constantly behind us at the pool... touching our speaker to lower the music? Peaking out of bushes to see what we were doing... walking the whole pool shouting at us like if we were children! Super disrespectful, Making comments like "you guys are American with that accent?!" At checkout.... the owner needs to do a physical inspection of the room in order to sign you off to get back your $250 deposit... never heard of that... In one of my family members room a towel was placed on the floor to not slip and fall as the rooms are tile & they are wet from the pool, owner charged $10 for the towel because it was dirty.... Hotel Rule.....You can ONLY use the pool if you rented a suite. If you do not rent the suite room you don't have access to the pool!! I have NEVER heard about renting a hotel and not being able to use the facilities based on the rooms you selected...... Hotel is super short staffed, office says it closes at 10 yet the frist night of our stay we had lost our room key in the beach and went around 7 to the office to request a copy & there was no one there till the next morning, later talking to people there we were told that more than half the staff quit because of the new ownership management and rudeness. I am definitely NOT staying in that hotel ever again!!!! And if you want to vacation and have a good time I suggest for you to search for another hotel because you will NOT be able to do that in this one!!! read more

Great place! The location is perfect distance to all Hollywood Beach has to offer. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was nicely renovated. The pool and tiki bar were both nice to have on the hotel grounds. We enjoyed walking the beach each day, which was only a few steps from the hotel, and the Broadwalk has so many restaurants to choose from it was really nice. We liked that Hollywood is more family-oriented opposed to Miami. Really enjoyed the stay here, would return! read more

This hotel is amazing for the value. Completely renovated inside and out. Our room has two bedrooms, one and half bathrooms, full kitchen which is fully stocked with all the essentials (silverware, plates, cups, stove, full size refrigerator, microwave coffee pot etc...) The cupboards and drawers have soft close doors. The rooms have ceiling fans and their is even an UV AIR Purifier machine in the living room. We highly recommend this place whether your looking for a weekend getaway or a week long stay. read more

Let's start with the first room they sent us to was not ready, still dirty, bed unmade. They did not know this. Front desk checked with cleaning service and told us that she had it on her list as clean also. She then needed details of how it was not clean. The second room smelled so badly of mildew that I got a headache in the first five minutes. Then, they sent us to the beach and fixed the first room. The Tiki bar did not open until 2:30 p.m. Because the girl attends school. Oh, yea, then there was the water pipe to the toilet that vibrated so loudly that we thought work was being done outside our room. That is not an exaggeration. The parking lot spaces were so small that we could not both get in the car. Sizes of the rooms were ok. Decorations were relatively good. Bed and pillows could have been more comfortable. Staff at the desk apologized at the end. I would look elsewhere in the future. Pricey for what you don't get. read more

The rooms are clean and small but equipped with small kitchen if you want to cook or stock food or snacks. The Tiki bar is very loud at night until about 10 but once the music ends it is quiet. The bartender Molly was extremely friendly and welcoming and made the best drinks. She had really good recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area. Wow!!! Where do i even begin to start? After a LONG day of travel from Portland Oregon, we arrived at our room(after wandering around for about 20 minutes due to poor signage, and nobody at the front desk) Only to finally find our room, which at first glance was small, but cute enough. As we began to look around the room, we started to see things out of the corner of our eye, and low and behold, Cockroaches! But wait, there's more. I know this is southern Florida, so a single cockroach wouldn't be unheard of, the dealbreaker was the HUGE amount of them, in the cupboards, on the walls, in the light, everywhere in the bathroom, and we even found a baby cockroach in the bed!! What makes this so horrible, is the complete lack of response from the so-called manager (who hasn't ever been there after numerous calls and messages, and different hours) Nor has she responded to my, or Expedias inquiries!! If you're considering this place,don't walk, run!!! The Crowne Plaza close by is walking distance to the beach, much nicer, pleasant employees, and i think is even cheaper!! read more

Customer service begins since the minute you book and that is something they lack. First of all I wanted to add someone to my reservation since I wasn't the one checking in and what do they do, change the entire reservation name. The employees lack attention to detail and common sense for that matter as they couldn't even find me in the system with other information. House keeping only makes the bed & gives additional towels....not clear on what type of "keeping it clean" is that. When calling the front desk they leave you on a long hold and just sound as if they don't even want to be there. Since it was Labor Day weekend they make money by charging $25 for valet parking to non-tenants, and us the guest had to advise the office if we were leaving so that they were able to move the extra cars.And to top it all of,management decided to do maintenance to the pool when the resort was fully booked. As if cleaning couldn't been done over night by closing the pool early a day before, that leaves you with an entire day without being able to use an amenity paid for.
