I've found a new tire store....the quote I got on Wednesday was the same I paid on Friday. Everyone was extremely nice. The tire guy talked to me like I was his mother...and I'm a dude! That's how nice he was. I was in and out! I barely finished my chicken biscuit before they already had my car in the garage. First class people...from desk staff to the tire guy. There was a semi tall skinny white young dude that said hello to me...he didn't have to but he did and that was nice of him...he was busy but he noticed me and nodded. And I hate being like this...but I don't know his name...but he is a tall slender black dude with good hair...like I said...I hate saying.."the black dude"... but I don't know his name...but I told them to just throw the spare in the back seat...but he pulled out an extremely heavyweight toolbox and other crap in my trunk to place the spare back to its home. Always friendly, caring, professional, are accurate with their quotes, provide excellent service, from the front desk check in/out service, to the quality work they do on my vehicle every time. They call me before doing any major work to let me know cost and always have great value for the work they do. They are honest and I appreciate their integrity. Something that is rare in business. On 6-17 I took my truck in to get an alignment and the castors and cambers adjusted, everything started off well then the tech asked me to come in to the shop so I did and he wiggles the tire and said I had a bad ball joint and I needed to take it and get it replaced then call back.I said ok and went to the office to settle up and they said no charge since they didn't do anything.I then took the truck home and jacked it up to replicate the movement I saw and everything seemed tight so I took it to two different shops which both shops checked it and said the ball joints were fine,the last shop even asked me how long since someone had messed with it because he pointed out fresh tool marks on the tap and that's when I figured out that they didn't want to do the alignment because adjusting all of those can take several hours it's not just a quick alignment job I then called to explain the situation and what I thought had happened to Greg the store manager who quickly became argumentative and hateful and swore his guys would never do such a thing which I don't blame him for wanting to defend his people but I feel he should've kept an open mind and at least attempt to look into the issue.I will never be back there as I feel they cannot be trusted Thank you read more

Can't beat the service here! It's a local, family-owned, top notch place. I've been a customer for 10 years. It's not a chain mega-store. You may pay a buck more per tire but for the service and to support a local place it's more than worth it. Actually, I priced a V-rated tire at a dealership and it was, I shit you not, $25 more just for the tire than the price here. So, when Jones OK tire sold to Porters, I called my Jones buddy and checked with a friend in Morristown. Both raved about this family business and they have exceeded expectations every time. I've had oil changes, tire services, and bought tires here under both owners. The other thing I don't mind paying for is peace-of-mind. These guys (and Angela) aren't going to try to gouge you, sell you anything you don't need, or anything they wouldn't do for their famiy, friends, or neighbors. Because it's a local family. They are our neighbors, y'all. Wifey is comfortable going here by herself. Of course, Wifey would fight Hell with a water-pistol, but still you get my point. One point is don't mess with Wifey. The other is that Porter's is legit. If you live or work around town, they are known for super service, picking up your car at work if you need, squeezing you in on short notice, giving you a ride to/from the shop, and just about the way it would happen if your Uncle Gus owned the tire shop downtown. I ordered some wheels (rims for some of my friends that insist on that jargon) and had them delivered here instead of my house for the hassle-factor. One time the shiny-headed guy :=) there suggested a little better tire for my truck. Best damn tires I've ever owned I swear! So, he has super credibility as far as I'm concerned. took my 2010 chevy impala to porter tire in Johnson city to have a four-wheel alignment done and to have two brand new tires that i brought with me mounted and balanced with new tpms sensors installed that i also supplied. they took 1 and a half hours to do my car then they charged my debit card twice 132.44 so i had to go back to the tire store so they could fix the double charge. so when i get home i open the trunk to find the two new tires and tpms sensors in the trunk so i was charged for mounting and balance and they never installed the new tires i am not sure they did the alignment either don't waste your time going there read more

I can't say enough good things about the crew here at Porter. You can't beat the price of their oil change/tire rotation service. I have never had to wait long for service. I stopped by Porters in a panic as my tire was going flat and I live out of state, needing to head home in the morning. They took a look at my tire in record time and found a metal shard. The dealership the day before found no punctures in the tire and told me I simply needed a new one. These guys patched the tire in a few minutes and sent me on my way.
