Paid another mechanic $500+ to replace a damaged wheel hub, rotor and brakes. Again, this car had zero issues until we had tires put on here. All started immediately after the tires mount/install. First of all this place hasn't had any good reviews in almost a year or two. They all date back years ago! Never coming here again after a chain of events that spiralled out of control. I originally called for an alignment. They said they could get it the next morning so I took my car to them. They come back inside to tell me they refused an alignment until I bought a part from them, a front right wheel tire rod, about $100 more than I was paying with labor taxes etc. Just like anyone else wanting their car fixed, of course I say yes to go ahead. A day later when they get the part in, After telling me that was what caused the shaking in the first place, BUT, they wouldn't put the part on unless I paid for the alignment too. It's over $320 at this point. So I say yes again since I want my car fixed . Let me remind you, it was just fine before I took it to them, just a little pulling which mean alignment. Well they said the part would fix it, right? WRONG, if I could upload the videos of my vehicle making the sound of hard medal clanking after paying $320 to them for what they said would fix my car, I would. But instead, I'll upload the pictures of what they have done to my hub cap 4ish weeks later after having to bring it back to them yet AGAIN. I have had to bring my car back to them 3 times now. The loud metal clanking noise I took back to them the FIRST day of services, the 'technician' (if that's what you want to call them), straight up told me to my face he inserted the tire rod the wrong way and had to re-do it. OMG. I was a nervous wreck. 4 weeks later my car has never had the issues it's having with my tires and now a sensor was hit while they were working on it and went bad. Though they claim they didn't touch the front and they claim they didn't take off the tires or touch the back. Well that doesn't make sense cause they had to put the part in and align the tires, sooo WHAT DID THEY DO?! Fast forward , I can't believe the trouble my car has had. And it's been a wonderful vehicle . 2015 Kia and is under 150.000 miles. The manager, Andrew, tried telling us if a car over 150,000 miles the engine light will come on. Are you serious?! My mouth must have dropped because I'm sure I was terrified at this point. This is when they finally said they would take the car and try to fix my tire and ended up keeping it 2 days, and telling me they left the bolts to fix it myself in an envelope in the car and ruining my hub cap they burned! So I get to go buy another one.... $320 later + a $50 hubcap they've caused me some serious damage. I'm so upset , I paid for all this mess. It upsets me because for years myself & My family used Tire Barn but never again. I would NOT recommend taking your car here for even the simplest thing!! I bought top the line tires, over $2000 specifically to be safe on our trip from TN to FL 3 weeks later, only to get as far as GA and have my tire nearly come off because 3 of my 5 lug nuts were not even tightened and all three bolts had broken off, thank God we stopped when we did! I've been here a few times now and just from those few visits, I can tell that this will be my primary tire shop from now on (as long as I'm in the area). Guys that work there are super cool and friendly, and both times they were able to squeeze me in last minute. My schedule is crazy so it's hard for me to find time for these kinda things and without even mentioning this to them they literally stand there and calculate their work load and fit me in. And do so in such a nice way. They really do have awesome customer service, which is usually a toss up in places like these. Their prices are REALLY good, and they stand behind their work 100%. My most recent trip they didn't even charge me for checking out my slow tire leak problems. Took them a good 15-20 minutes to do so, I wouldn't have had a problem with compensating them for their time but nope! Class acts I'm telling you! They also have $20 off an alignment if you check in on Yelp while you're there. Speaking of alignments, they will also do alignments on lowered cars as long as it clears their ramp. Some places will outright turn you away. Their Kingsport location has an in-ground machine so they can take care of all cars no matter how low. My wife and I are on our 25th wedding Anniversary tour from Massachusetts to Nashville. Halfway into our trip, noticed a vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds which got worse and was now being felt at low speeds. Through great Yelp reviews, I showed up at Tire Barn Warehouse in Johnson City on Saturday morning. I met a very friendly Andrew who came out and checked my tires. He was able to have my front 2 tires replaced quickly while I waited. One of the tires had tire bands poking through the tread. Next a check on front end alignment. Andrew showed and explained the alignment numbers info to me. It was right on the edge of needing one or not. I made the decision to get the alignment. How good is this place? Do Not Buy from here. They lie to you and deceive you with rules that do not exist. I got ripped off big time! I purchased 500.00 worth of tires with the road hazard warranty and when I got a nail in one of the tires....I was told I did not have the road hazard warranty even after them telling my husband that I did. Then they tried to make up a reason saying since I had not rotated them with their company it voided my road hazard. I had them rotated by Sears when I got my oil changed and wheel alignment done and have proof of it. But they don't care. This rule of rotating does not exist because I read the rules that is on the back of my paperwork and it does not state that anywhere. I was declined service bc I work with a dispensary in Virginia and was accused of trying to sell thc to a tire tec bc I was telling him about a dispensary who had someone go to hospital and found opioids in there system after eating a edible from zarati shop whom I do not work for and this was not even the same day it was after the fact they waited 45 minutes to tell me I needed new lug nuts on vehicle witch was 15 minutes before close. They are very lazy. I didn't have a very high opinion when I had my tires put on 3 years ago. They balanced one tire so out of whack that I had to return (who has time any more to come back?). However, today I went in because one tire blew out on the road. It was split. They diagnosed it and another tire as faulty and replaced them no charge. I have been going to Tire Barn in Johnson City for quite a while now, and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Josh treats me like family. It's wonderful to know that I can go in and trust that he will be honest and fair to me! All of the guys there are friendly and do a great job, but I must admit that I generally wait for Josh if I can. I have 4 vehicles that he takes care of for me, and I send family and friends that way, too! My first visit there was about 10-11 years ago when the tire on a "new to me" Mercedes began leaking. The dealer had mentioned that they had bought the tires at Tire Barn, so I stopped over there to see if they could help me. This company does not understand that if they do not let the customers drive the cars in and out of the service bay that the company is responsible for keeping a car clean. I got my tires rotated and balanced and the guy who pulled my car out came out with hands just covered in grease and just drove my car that way, no gloves, no seat covers, etc. I shouldn't have to have the interior of my car cleaned just because I had my tires rotated. I was standing right by the door and would much prefer to move it myself to avoid cleaning it. The lack of care for the customers property is not right and for my next set of tires I will look elsewhere. This place used to be great. read more
