The larger items mean I don't have to go to the store as often. We really like the "Member's Mark" products, especially the dog food. I am not happy that you have to order food at the hot dog/pizza counter by the app now! Prices have gone up ridiculously high, but that's everywhere I guess. Basically the same as just about every other Sam's as far as merchandise and food. They have seasonal items and a small food counter, serving things like pizza, hotdogs and ice cream. The employees have been nice and store well-stocked. Expect the store to be very busy on weekends. Only negative is the bathroom needed to be cleaned during my last visit. read more

I wish Sam's Club would follow in Costcos path and sell Top Tier Gas. My car doesn't do well on Sam's gasoline. I probably won't renew my membership. read more

This Sam's club is ridiculous; and now during busiest time of the year everything is dismantled and moved around so you cannot find anything. Never have chickens anymore they limit when and how many they sell. Also they have a limited inventory because there is little competition, they are complacent about pricing, and choice. Overpriced, bad selection, rude employees. God forbid you want to visit the concession stand. Slow service and rude employees who act like not putting the dog in the bun is a horrible inconvenience. The chickens are usually pretty good, and at least I can buy my cases of water. read more

FYI customers if you are not aware... on the check out it asks you if you want the card you pay with to be used for autorenewal of membership. even if you click NO, there is a tiny line checked as yes. if that line is not unchecked, even if you click 'no' it will automatically charge your card at renewal. I was walking through the store and noticed at least 20 people today who were not wearing mask and the employees had no interest in enforcing the law of Washington County Tennessee. One woman was even coughing and was joking with the person with her that she probably had Covid. What good are rules if your store refuses to enforce them. read more

Arghhh... I dread coming here. But I have to. Multiple times a week! Let's start with a couple positives. 1) they have a ton of stuff you need. Yep, stuff you NEED. 2) their pizzas are actually pretty good when you're hungry. All their food items are super cheap too! Now the negatives. Self check out machines are finicky. For as many staff they have working you'd think that they'd utilize more registers when all open ones have lines that are 4+ shoppers deep. I know 4 doesn't sound like a lot, but you've seen these Cadillac Escalade shopping carts right? And people who come here typically fill theirs up. Speaking of staff, customer service is non existent. You shop, move around, and pay as if you were nearby invisible. Except when you try to leave the store. They stick their hand out for your receipt like they are asking for your boarding ticket to go back to life on Earth.... and while itemizing the receipt they will visually scan your cart and you yourself with cold laser eyes as if you were a criminal. Okay... maybe it isn't like that all the time, but man... I gotta say customer service here is the worst. And of course the shoppers... oh, and this is beyond their control so didn't effect score. But boy, 70% of shoppers here are some of the most inconsiderate folks around. Cars hardly yields for pedestrians. People walking at a rate of 2 inches per hour, in the center of the aisle. People trying to get ahead of you to the exit, just because they have way less stuff than you. People taking the time to decide on which brand milk to buy (there is only ONE brand), etc etc etc. Ok. You pay to get in , pay to get out . Get searched before you leave . They scan your ticket and scan something in the buggy that you purchased to prove that you have paid for it . The employees are rude or non existent. They make you show your card to enter but you cant even buy anything with out a card . This place is nuts ! Glorified secret grocery store like their crap dont stink . Here recently the "security" has gotten strict . Forbid you come in to see if you want to join. You get looked at if you don't buy anything. I feel like im writing about a crazy story from a book about groceries . They sell food and clothes and over priced appliances and pens . You can go to bestbuy for the same thing without paying to go in . This place is key if you own it because they charge for everything . Good idea for anyone willing to fall for the crazy scheme . They definitely squeeze the money from every inch they can . This place is nothing special but you buy in bulk . Sam's is great for when you need to stock up, as well as good prices on good quality electronics and office supplies. The staff is generally helpful and friendly. Their produce is always good quality, except the bananas, which are ALWAYS green. Be sure to download the Scan & Go app, so you can skip the checkout line. Most of the checkstands are self service, and they can be slow if it's busy. The cafe is good with great prices, perfect for a cheap and filling lunch, but don't expect health food. The ice is always in defrost and never works. When the staff was confronted about the issue they suggested that I could go to the nearest Taco Bell to cure my cravings. The most senior person available for assistance during my visit said I could speak to a manager when they opened the next day. I ensured that I would be there when they opened. She then proceeded to say that nobody would be there then. I am not impressed with this location as they pull your spending history before assisting you with any issues. This fact means That even though everyone pays for a membership, you are not as important as the other person that paid the same amount. Don't shop here. read more

I was walking the Johnson City Tennessee Sam's Club parking lot when a woman came up and ask me what I was doing, she was abrupt, she was rude, rather condescending. She never identified herself as a Sam's Club employee. I explained I was looking at vehicles as I was looking to buy one soon. I explained what types of vehicles I was looking at and trying to figure out if I wanted new or used a SUV or a pickup. I went into the store and I saw her working and I asked her why she asked me those questions she had told me that she thought that I was confused and that maybe I lost my vehicle and that I had needed assistance. That's not what she told me out in the parking lot she never said anything about me losing my vehicle or being confused. The confuse part is kind of offensive as well and could be racist, I supposed to her anyone over 60 is old and feeble and must be confused. I believe age is a protected population just as is race, sex or religious beliefs. I brought my concern to a manager standing by the check out line. The manager told me there were numerous members who were concerned that I was walking the parking lot. I explained to the manager I was looking at various vehicles, I never touched any vehicle as I walked by and I just kind of slowed up and looked at them. I explained I was trying to decide on what kind of vehicle to buy and I like looking at him in the parking lots. I have done this most of my life with no issue from any store or mall. The reason I normally do this is because there are no sales people trying to sell me something, so it's easier to get an idea of what vehicles may I like. I get to see what vehicles look like after a few years on the road, rust, paint etc.. I also am trying to get my 10,000 steps in a day and walking a parking lot is pretty easy way to get 10,000 steps in. Sam's Club staff and managers made me feel like I was a criminal or doing something wrong and they all just seem to think that it was okay to accuse me of wrongdoing by simply walking their parking lot. I left the store walked to my pickup. I was sitting in my pickup still at the Sam's Club Parking lot writing a review when 2 managers came outside and stood by my pickup watching me. I must admit it was very intimidating to say the least. I was afraid to make eye contact with the managers or even acknowledge their presents. I still don't understand what I did to deserve such a jack booted reaction from this Sam's Club. read more

Sam's Club is a necessary evil. I run a business and it's a relatively cheaper option for traditional box grocery stores. I was so thrilled when they started doing the "pick and pull" program. I thought this would simplify my life just load my electronic cart and pull up to get loaded. WRONG!! I still had to go in the store, find the employee assigned to pick and pull, pay for my stuff, push it outside and load it in my truck. This really didn't help me save any time or effort. Too add insult to injury half of my order was on the loading dock so I drove to the loading dock to finish getting loaded. How does the program help anyone?? read more

Might seem odd to you, but I go there every year for my eye exam. The optometrist, Dr Kennedy, is outstanding! She and her staff are extremely friendly and she does a thorough eye exam. As this is an independent office, you don't need a membership to get your eyes checked here either. read more

I did not renew for Sam's this year. The choices are considerably less than they used to have. Less healthy choices and most is their own trademark. I have been a member for a very long time. They still have some good values but not enough, for me to drive the distance and feel disappointed. Also the store is a mess and in the past you would hardly ever see empty boxes laying around. Sams cant seem to get it together.... This afternoon around 4 pm (May 21, 2019) I ventured into the Johnson City Sams Club Found no (ZERO) carts available Nine people standing there waiting on carts. I went out to the parking lot and found some a good distance away and grabbed one to do my shopping. I thought about the local ALDI store where customers pop in a quarter to get a cart and get it refunded upon return. Aldi does not have cart people absent, off duty or whatever reason there were no carts at Sam/s club today.. Aldi also does not lose carts. and THE PERSON THAT IS STATIONED AT THE CORNER OF HANOVER ROAD would collect any stray carts for a quarter apiece and stop panhandling. The lack of carts is nothing new at Sam's It is becoming more common. read more

Have a good experience here and like the products they sell here. Something I will mention here if Sam's club reads this is the amount of check out registers open on the morning. Morning is when I normally come by. Usually have only two registers open and three Sam's people standing around. Guys, when the lines are backed up of people to be checked out open another register to check out people. Especially when there are three Sam's people standing there talking. read more
