Friendly service but food was not good. Had chicken fingers. Very small with no flavor and very little flavor. Thank goodness for the packaged sauce. Fries were ok. Husband had hot turkey sandwich. Very bland with lumpy mashed potatoes. We were traveling so no need to return. read more

Was excited to try home of bottomless fries!! Ordered burger with homemade fries - super greasy and oil dense. Tried crinkle cut after leaving most of homemade and they were overcooked. W ordered chicken wrap with no bacon. 1st came out with bacon, had to redo. It was worth the wait as it was loaded with chicken which at $14 it should be (wrap only). Burger was ok. Noticed lack of coleslaw and was told they were out of it. No discount. Also out of turkey gravy. Service was ok, a bit slow, no refill of water, checkup. Decor of place was awesome. I took my time to post this review since my friend and I were not raving about the food we had at this diner. After a long afternoon of shopping in the Fredericton retail district, we went searching for place for dinner other than a chain restaurant before we headed off to Moncton. I used the Yelp app and found Porter's Diner close by and we decided to stop here. I was excited to see that they offer bottomless fries. This diner serves up traditional Canadian cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at moderate prices. The place is casual with table seating, booth seating and padded stools at the counter. The walls are decorated with framed pictures of classic cars and plenty of colorful billboard type ads of local businesses above the main entrance/counter area. We were seated immediately at a booth and offered drinks. We requested 2 ice waters, but the plastic cups of water served to us barely had any ice. For dinner, I ordered the 1 piece Fish & Chips ($10.99), which had a pile of hot golden crisp shoestring fries (not salted), small cup of minced cole slaw (1 bite), and a very small crispy battered piece of haddock. While the fries were plentiful and good, the size of the greasy fish was smaller than I expected for the price charged, 4 normal bites and done! I could've asked for more fries, but I decided to pass. Red Robin (in the USA) also offers bottomless fries served with burgers and sandwiches. My friend was not very hungry and ordered a Roast Beef Sandwich ($4.79) with mustard, which also was not good. The roast beef (minced) with mustard was very dry and bland between 2 slices of standard untoasted wheat bread. The service was acceptable as the food was served in timely order, but we were not impressed with the food for the most part. I will say the fries were done right. read more

Not sure what the food is like. It looked okay but took 20 minutes and my order still wasn't ready I don't have any clue as to the quality of it. Just as a common courtesy it would have been nice after 10 minutes if I have been told that the meal was going to take that long. Definitely not impressed with the service read more

Came back again as the food was so good the first time and two for two the food was great he again two for two the service is unbelievable! Literally I can't believe the horrible service for this place and how busy it is! The food will for sure get ppl coming back but the horrible service is what makes ppl go elsewhere!! No one is asking for cartwheels but Jesus having to flag someone down for coffee refills is by far just horrible.... read more

We got the Breakfast Special that came with 2 eggs + bacon, ham or sausage, + home fries or toast. It came to $10 with taxes. The food was good and it came in a big portion so the price was definitely worth it. read more

I went here for breakfast a few weeks ago and had one of the worst breakfasts ever. The first issue I had was their no-substution policy. Don't eat toast or hash browns? Too bad, everything comes with them, so just don't eat them. The omelette I ordered was probably the worst I've ever eaten. The eggs were cooked to the point of turning into a dry sponge. The veggies inside weren't cooked or even sweated off, so they were still raw and crunchy. Finally, the whole thing was completely unseasoned, so it was extremely bland. The servers seemed unsympathetic about the substitution issue, but cheerful and attentive otherwise. Coffee wasn't included, so it all came to just under $20 with tax and tip, which I consider a rip-off for the quality. I'll never go back. read more

Always a bad wait time for food. Servers are ok but they need more when busy. Food isn't great. Nothing special for the amount you're paying. Seems we have learned to settle in Fredericton for subpar. read more

We have ate at Porter's quite a bit and always enjoyed it until the last couple times. Breakfast was quite greasy. And another time we went for supper and I ordered a chicken burger and was quite surprised to see on my bill that they charged me $1.99 for a few onions on my burger :( Not planning to got again or send any friends there again. read more

Had breakfast with my daughter. Eggs, toast and ham were good. The homefries that were supposedly done on the grill were horrible. What was worse than that was the terrible service. So sorry Velvet for interrupting your day! Perhaps if you had pulled yourself away from socializing and actually checked on your customers, I might not have been so pissed off. Asking me how everything was 15 minutes after I was finished in an empty restaurant with a pile of under cooked potatoes sitting in front of me- how do you think it was? Awesome place for great home style food and big portions! The decor is true diner style with pictures of old cars, bikes and race cars! If your looking for a nice relaxing place to eat with great food and pleasant atmosphere, this is the place! We were in for breakfast passing threw on vacation, highly recommend! read more

The coffee mug was dirty and so was the table when we sat down. Also, the bathrooms smelled like urine, and the place was damp and cold inside. The last straw was when I was nearly halfway through my meal and found a curly blonde hair in it. I left immediately and will never look back. read more
