Stopped by earlier today (16 Apr '25) for a 4 wheel alignment on my 2015 50th Anniversary edition Mustang. The alignment tech did a FANTASTIC job, and even took the time to show me on the alignment print out, the initial specs on my car and the end state after adjustment. I came here to have the tires on my dually rotated. They unmounted the tires to do so instead of just moving the wheels around. The created some issues that could not have been planned for. I have been in contact with them atleast weekly for months now. They have taken amazing care of my family and I during this time. They truly ensured that they made it right. I got brand new tires from them a year ago. Since then I've gotten my car serviced six or seven times over the past year. I went today and they told me I need new front tires. I said the tires were only a year old and they told me it's because my tires haven't been rotated since I got them. They never told me I needed to get them rotated any time that I came in for service. I thought they automatically did that when you came in or that they would at least mention it to me before it turned into a $250 problem. Thanks a lot guys. I had an appointment for an oil change, and it was done pretty fast. My vehicle smelt and felt like grease when i got into my SUV after the service was done. The floor matt had greasy boot prints all over them. Grease all over the steering wheel, and got on my hands. I requested at reception when I got there if they can check "Check Engine light" which was on, and she said ok. It was not checked when I got my car back, and when I asked the other person (the person I asked had left) they said that I'll have to wait another hour before they can get to it. Needless to say, not going back or recomend them to anyone. read more

Took my car to Porter`s Tazewell for front brake job. Job completed and paid $85 for front pads only. I have receipt in hand that says front brake job. A couple months later, car vibrating from front with burning smell coming from front wheels. Took it back to Porter`s and spoke with manager Tyler. Upon inspection, apparently front pads were not replaced at the previous visit and I was told that the $85 was a brake labor charge. Pads were replaced this time and I was charged an additional $65 for "pads only." Pretty shady in my opinion. I will not go back. They have lost me as a customer. My advice, go elsewhere for service. read more

I came in to have a tire repaired after it picked up a nail. Even though I had originally purchased the tires elsewhere, everyone was so polite and helpful. The receptionist, Emberly (not sure of the spelling) was great. She even spent several minutes processing my tire warranty claim without complaint. I was so pleased with my service.... Stopped for gas on the way from Oklahoma to Virginia and found the the tread on one of the trailer tires was starting to shred. Didn't have the tools to change the tire (crazy, right?) and found these guys on yelp and they could not have been more helpful. I made an appointment for today to get my brakes and rotors checked. I got in at 9am and it was PACKED! There were a lot of people working and everyone seemed to be getting in and out really quickly regardless of if they had an appointment or not. I ended up needing my front brakes replaced and my rotors turned and it only ended up being $146 including tax, which I felt was a good price for parts and labor. I know I would have spent over $300 at a dealership (stealership, as I like to call them). Everyone seemed pretty friendly and they were quick to serve everyone. read more

If I could rate a 0, I would. My grandmother spent about 1k on her car. The day after she got her car back from Porter's her car wouldn't start and we took it to Porter's twice for this same reason claiming it was fixed. They didn't run a full diagnostic on her car to see what was the problem. Every time my grandmother and I would drive past Porter's her car was sitting there never attempted to start and after we picked it up for the third time they said all the problems were fixed and they started the car. Let alone my grandmother's car sitting at Porter's for 2 weeks and never attempted to check the battery level. The only good thing Porter's has done was given us a rental car. I would not recommend going to Porter's especially if you're a female because they will take advantage of you. read more

Bought tires with road hazard warranty. Tire eventually wouldn't hold air. Took back to Porters and was told a belt broke. They said more than a year old, and wasn't covered by road hazard. Even though less than half of tread warranty used, I was out of luck, had to buy a new tire. What good are mileage and separate road hazard warranties if they don't cover anything? They don't have to worry about me being back, lots of others selling tires, maybe the next will be honest and ethical? read more

Porters has always had great service. I am not good with making appointments. Sometimes I just show up and they are great!! They get me in and out in a very short amount of time. I have my oil changed at Porters on Buffalo Trail as well. I do recommend making an appointment for anything other then a quick tire issue. read more

Purchased 4 Hankook Ventus V12 tires and 1866 miles later the driver's side rear tire inside wall separated from the tire. This tire failed 4 houses down the street from my home. Parked the car, removed the tire, and took it back to Porter tires in Morristown. The technician inspected the tire and immediately noted that the tire was not punctured, ran flat, or damaged. The tire was still mounted to the rim and the bead was never broken, on the inside or outside of the tire. He told me that he called Hankook and they said told the Porter technician that there was nothing that could be done. However when I asked for the information and contact number it took the tech 15-20 minutes to locate Hankook's warranty department's phone #. This seemed a little fishy so when I inquired a little further I was told that he didn't call because they may issue a refund (they being Hankook) and Porter would have to issue a refund. I was pretty upset at this time. I have never dealt with a company that wouldn't back the products that they sell and not willing to accept responsibility for dealing with the manufacturer, as they should. It shouldn't be the responsibility of the consumer to deal with a manufacturer and the vendor should practice customer service. If Porter wants follow on customers they need to treat the customer with respect and not flat out lie to them. I will not be using Porter for any of my future auto repair needs, nor will any of those that ask for my opinion. read more

Well, we have gone to Porters for years. However... our last few experiences haven't been so good. Alpha branch: this last time, I bought 4 tires for our new (used but new to us) SUV. After I picked it up, I told my husband it wasn't driving as well as it did before I took it in for tires. It seemed to pull to one side. He took it back and was told it needed alignment. He had it aligned but it didn't fix it. He wound up going back for a total of 3 times before they realized that one tire was the WRONG SIZE. On a positive note, we were never charged for the additional visits including the alignment. Our problem has been fixed. How we wound up with one wrong tire I will never know. read more

Called Joe Monday morning, we were in town from three states away and asked if we could bring a vehicle that afternoon for prepurchase inspection. We arrived, welcomed like family, Matt did inspection even took us into the bay and got under car with us and showed all the things right with this car, which we bought two hours later. We had Porter Tire Store mount and balance four new tires on my vehicle. I will have to say that we showed up at a busy time of the day roughly 4:00 pm within 30 minutes they took my car in and in another 30 minutes it was ready. Now they apologized to us for it taking so long but as far I'm concerned it wsn't that long, not for how busy they were. If you need your car serviced I highly recommend Porter Tire Company. They are honest and very fair priced and no mater how busy they are they make you feel that you are the only one there. First off, when I arrived at Porter's, there was only one person in the waiting room and 2 cars in the bay. I had purchsed $750 worth of new tires at Porter's plus the $50 service plan and noticed that one of my wheels had a crack in the rim. "No problem" I thought, "Just take it to Porter's and swap out the spare rim with the bad one." Given the ease of the task and the fact that I was one of maybe 3 people there, I figured I would be in and out. I explained very clearly what I needed to have done. After being called back to the bay twice to confirm what I thought was an understood and elementary task for "tire professionals", my confidence in the service dropped dramatically. That coupled with the hour it took to complete the task while I sat in the waiting room watching people come in to have 4 tires replaced and be off before me dissolved what was left of my patience. I also wondered if I had been on a first name basis with the people in the office or brought in a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, would I have received better service? Despite having a service plan with this business, I will never return...not for new tires, rotations, balancing or if I'm bleeding out of the eyes and they were my last chance at calling an ambulance. If I'm going to wait an hour for one tire, then I'll just go to a dealership or Wal-Mart. I expect to get screwed in those places so I'll be more prepared for it. read more
