I always enjoy visiting a Portillo's when possible... it's one of those things I just can't get in the DC area, like In-n-Out... So, when I was in Kissimmee I looked and found this one and went. It's about a 15 min ride from the Gaylord in Kissimmee, which is a mile from Disney's main entrance. Service here was great, friendly, and quick. The menu is what I'm familiar with, but all I wanted was a small Italian Beef with spicy giardiniera and a Chicago Dog. Since fries came with it, I wasn't arguing, as they use those crinkle cut fries and they serve them crispy, hot, and tasty! The Italian Beef was incredible, as it usually is! I was in Chicago a few weeks ago and got an Italian Beef from Gold Coast Hot Dogs and it was just ok, I forgot how amazing Portillo's were until getting this one - It Was Great! Very flavorful, tender, and moist meat with a flavorful au jus to dip it into. The giardiniera was fresh, crunchy, and spicy - it made for a great combination with that beef! The bun was so soft and held up to the sandwich and dipping it into the au jus perfectly! Next up was their Chicago dogs - AWESOME! Again, fresh veggies and a great bun. Portillo's in Kissimmee never disappoints. The food is consistently good, served hot, and always hits the spot. I placed my order at the kiosk, so I didn't have much interaction with the staff aside from picking up my food when my number was called, but everything was smooth and efficient. I ordered the Italian beef sandwich plain with the gravy on the side, and it was perfect. The sandwich was generously packed with flavorful, tender beef, and having the gravy on the side let me control how much I wanted--definitely the way to go. I also got the crinkle fries, which were fresh and delicious, and I ended up finishing every last one. One thing about Portillo's is their consistency. I tried Portillos when they opened and come back from time to time. This place never disappoints, staff is friendly, food is good, and the 50s diner vibe is neat to experience. This Portillo's is more relaxed due to the less crowded atmosphere related to being in Kissimmee rather than right by the Vineland outlet mall. I enjoy the fact that you can get the same delicious hot dogs, beef sandwiches, and milkshakes but at a much slower pace. It is also still conveniently located as it happens to be right across the street from Margaritaville Hotel and the shops directly in front of it. Have had many positive experiences at this Portillo's, and typically find that the food is good. I have tried the burgers, the croissant, the tenders and the fish and can say I enjoy them all. My brother raved about their chocolate cake. So we went to try it. Ordered through the drive through. They have a nice big drive thru area. Order the chocolate cake and the lemon cake. The chocolate cake was ok. The lemon cake was pretty good. Has a strong lemon flavor but was really moist. The strong lemon flavor is not in a bad way.. but if you don't like lemon cake, you most likely won't prefer it. A cool-looking throwback restaurant in Kissimmee that was recommended, so we gave it a try. I loved the decor, especially the old juke box. THEN we were told "the nozzles are turned off-we're closed". I grew up in this area and it's really cool to see all the new restaurants. We first discovered Portillo's in Chicago and it was delicious. It's really cool to have one in Kissimmee and there's even Kissimmee/florida art and pictures all over the restaurant. What a great way to pay homage to the roots of it's location. Service here is similar to Chick-fil-A. You can use a kiosk or order at the counter. When your food is ready they call your number. All of the staff are very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and spotless. My go-to item is the Chicago dog! I love the toppings. To go with my hot dog, we get a large fry to share. You can't get a hot dog and fries without a large soda. Some other items on their menu are burgers, fish sandwich, chopped salad and beef sandwiches. They even have a new vegan hot dog. Recently we tried the beef sandwich and you can't go wrong with this juicy meet packed sandwich. Make sure you get the dipping sauce. For extra you can get peppers. If you are really daring you will have to get cheese sauce for your fries!! I'm always too full for dessert but if you really want to go all out.. they have some delicious looking cakes. Burger and chicken sandwiches were cooked nicely, the Greek salad was huge and nicely presented. I truly think Portillo's needs to expand to Colorado! I've watched you tubers eating at Portillo's and finally had the chance to try it in Kissimmee. They did not disappoint! I tried the Chicago style glizzy and I also had to try the Italian beef sandwich with sweet peppers and hot peppers. Both delicious and made to order. I love that they serve cheese on the side for dipping your fries or your food. Fast service but made with quality. I go to Portillo's every time I am in Chicago, and even though I prefer my hot dog very simple- with mustard- I LOVE a good Chicago Dog with all the trimmings. Just something about the merging of all those flavors and textures. So, when I heard that a Portillo's was opening in the Orlando area, I was a bit dubious- for 2 reasons- I like "local" food, and I feel that whenever a restaurant opens a branch out of state, it won't translate very well. So I put off coming here for a while, until I found myself in Kissimmee and I saw the sign out of the corner of my eye. I pulled over and parked. I walked in and was immediately transported into downtown Chicago, at the corner of Ontario and Clark Streets, I walked up to the counter and ordered my usual- a Chicago Dog. I paid and walked down to the pickup area, in awe at the similarities. I received my hot dog and sat down at a table and opened this incredible treat and took a bite- it was as if I WAS in Chicago! I am still a purist and would rather be eating a Chicago Dog in the WIndy City, but whenever I have a craving, I will happily come here. I'm a sucker for a dinning experience that takes me back in time. It's an experience when they do it right, even down to the music. I walked in and the cashier was super friendly. Held a great conversation with me about Disney and our favorite rides. I got complimented on my shirt and they also helped me around the menu. The energy was amazing and I hadn't even gotten my food yet. Once they called my number, the same person who complimented my shirt passed me my food with such enthusiasm. It got me very excited to dig in. I chose a great booth, a the food did not disappoint. I asked for the gravy on the side which you could ask for the sandwich already wet to you liking, but I wasn't sure I was gunna finish it all, oh but I did!!!! And it was great dipping my sandwich in. I added hot peppers as well into my sandwich to give it a spice, and it was absolutely perfect. A pretty good restaurant that is relatively new located very accessibly off of main roads! The parking lot is the only thing that I have to say is a downside of this place because it is very chaotic and a little confusing. Walking in I felt like I was transported to Chicago with the insane amount of Chicago style design and theming. It was very easy to find a seat because there was so many seating choices to choose from. I decided to get a roast beef sandwich loaded with peppers and while I was ordering the server taking my food was very friendly and fast with ringing up the order. I loved that the meat was very tender and did not taste dry whatsoever. I loved the hoagie roll it was on however I do wish that it was a little more crispy because that's how I like my roast beef sandwiches. I liked being able to see in the entire kitchen while I walked down to get my food and it looked like it was one of the cleanest kitchens that I have seen in a very long time from a fast food restaurant! Prices are reasonable with the sandwich of my choice as well as a soda and side of fries being $13. It definitely kept me full for a very long time that day! They also have a drive-thru! We first went to a Portillo's in Chicago on a food tour, so we were excited that one was opening in Kissimmee, only 15 minutes from our house. We've had great experiences at this location in the past, and I love the hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches with a dipping sauce. This time around, I took my mom who was visiting. She ordered the Italian beef bowl. Unfortunately, that's exactly what it was -- just a bowl with Italian beef. Nothing else. It was pretty weird. Usually a "bowl" would consist of a few different ingredients, typically on top of a rice or lettuce or something. Nope. Live and learn. For something different, I decided to try the Beef and Cheddar Croissant. I worked at Arby's during college and we had a Beef n Cheddar sandwich that was delicious, with lots of melty cheese. When I opened up the wrapper at Portillo's, it looked like a hoagie roll with beef. That's it. I took it back up to the counter. The employee inspected it and said that it was correct. She pointed at this little, barely visible patch of melted shredded cheese about the size of the penny. She again stated it was correct, but asked if I wanted it remade. I said yes because there's barely any cheese. A manager brought the new one to me when it was ready. I brought it back to the table and unwrapped it. This time, I could tell that the hoagie roll was actually made from a croissant-like material. And there was a sprinkle of unmelted shredded cheese. Barely more than the first sandwich had. While the beef still tasted good, what little there was of cheese was overpowered by the beef and may as well have not even have been there. Portillo's sells a cheese sauce for their fries...so why isn't this being used for the sandwich? Now I know just to get the regular Italian Beef sandwich with dip...and never order anything with cheese...unless it's fries. I'm giving this review 4 stars because my past experiences have been great, but this one was disappointing and likely a 3 star visit. I was excited to run across Portillo's in Kissimmee. I visit the downtown Chicago location every time in the area and was happy to find one in FL. The front counter rep was in training and was very thorough in taking my order and asking clarifying questions. I ordered a jumbo dog and onion rings. It didn't take long to receive my order. Both items looked picture perfect. The onion rings were hot and crispy. However, they lacked a sense of flavor and some of the onions were hard to tear. The jumbo dog was alright. I couldn't pinpoint what the dogs were missing but know the Chicago dogs are better. I'm glad I visited the Kissimmee location but will continue to stop at their location when I'm in town. read more

I was genuinely surprised to see no cars in the drive-thru during the lunch hour--maybe because this is a newer location, I'm not sure. I stopped by to pick up three Beef & Mozzarella sandwiches for my dog watcher and treated myself to the Small Strawberry Lemon Cake Shake, which was absolutely awesome! Seriously, the perfect blend of sweet and refreshing. Three hours later, the sandwiches were still holding up well and were made exactly as I had ordered. Great job to the team for getting it right. We came here the Saturday before Christmas and had a great lunch. I was expecting to visit the restaurant to be busy and having to wait in a long line and wait to get a table as I have other locations, but this restaurant was completely ready and handled their guests amazingly. The staff was great at helping us navigate the menu and there were staff all around the restaurant helping to bring drinks or carry menu items over or help cleanup or see if we needed anything during our meal. It was like a hotdog, pickle spear, peppers, onions, relish and I don't remember what else on a decently elevated bun. Just really not the level of quality we were hoping for. The Italian sausage in the sandwich was good and the beef was good, but nothing really different in taste that made either stand out from any other establishment that offers these products, other than putting them together. You can also have the Italian beef dipped into the meat water. I don't recommend doing the whole sandwich . The bread just started falling apart. Not sure if it's the bread or the time, but I have had plenty of dipped sandwiches and only had it fall apart a few times, but it honestly did not add to the flavor like we were hoping." The regular beef sandwich was tasty, but had a ton of jalapeños. Now my Son lives for spicy food, but with the amount on his sandwich it just overpowered the taste of the sandwich and he had to pick it apart to remove some of the jalapeños. There had to be 15+ on such a small sandwich. Not a great ratio. The fries were basic crinkle cut and really were basic in every way. It cost us almost 50$ for 3 almost meals, as it is mostly A LA Carte ordering. The exterior looks like a big brick building with an outside seating area. The inside is playing off the same road themed environment you can find allot of places nowadays, but is cool to see once maybe twice as they had a couple of cool artfully made sculptures and a fan boat hanging at the entrance. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. So all in all the food was good, but for the price point I thought it would have been more tantalizing to our taste buds. Left us a bit disappointed. Overall, I would give this place a second try, just to see if the food experience is the same for comparison, but... AS ALWAYS, TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!! read more

I am a Portillo's fan now. Portillo's was a location close to our Airbnb during our spring break. My kids suggested we should eat here. I scoffed at first and said "It's just a burger and hotdog place". But I realize I was wrong after we went through the drive-through and I saw a picture of a delicious looking Chicago Style hotdog. I ended up ordering the regular Chicago Style dog as well as the Plant Base Hotdog. Impressions... Chicago Style Dog (5/5): it was made with nice and fresh ingredients. There were a snap at each bite. Plant-Base Hot Dog (4/5): It was not bad. Often times, it is hard to replicate the taste when you go the plant base route. Would I try it again? Heck yes. Honorable mention to Italian Beef Sandwich, which I had a small bite sampling of. It was good. All in all, I love them both. So much, that we came back the following day I ordered a couple more of the Chicago style dogs and then some. It felt like an addiction had said in. This time around, we ate inside.
