Just want to give a huge THANK YOU and shout out to Portofinos Italian Kitchen in Abington. My sister and her fiancé came home this weekend to get married before they leave for Hawaii, as he will be stationed there and serves in the Army. We decided to throw them a surprise wedding and were expecting about 160 guests. The owner of portofinos was so willing to help and accommodate us in such short notice for a great price. He let us use chafing dishes and sternos, and even kindly added tons of delicious, homemade Greek deserts and extra food. His son delivered all of the food and helped set it up in the pouring rain for us(He also was a sweetheart). Besides the amazing customer service, the food was incredible. Every person we have talked to said the food was delicious. All homemade, fresh ingredients, we were very pleased. Thank you to the owner and staff of portofinos for helping us bring the beautiful wedding together and provide guests with great food. Working with you was a pleasure, and we appreciate everything. I ordered delivery from this place. They are very nice and friendly when taking my orders on the phone. I ordered meat lovers pizza, cheeseburger, and Italian sub. I think they give more deli meats than other pizzerias the bread to meat ratio was on point. Pizza was great, the cheeseburger was ok for me. read more

I always order delivery. I think they have the best pizza around and I have been to all of them. I ordered the meat lovers and it is delicious, the best! Crust is perfect. Loaded with toppings. I was expecting better from this place . The food was your typical Frozen food just thrown in a fryer. The wings are frozen breaded and they are tiny. The eggplant Parmesan sub was just frozen eggplant , However the sub roll was fresh and soft. Also had the frozen onion rings very greasy and poor quality.tried a couple of meatballs and once again another let down The service was ok walked in grabbed my online order and walked out. Actually not bad. Unique versions of pizza, very large menu. Service was off & on good even tho it wasn't busy. I think, for what we paid, it was fine. Could've been a little better tho. But, I think the employees were just exhausted and needed breaks, which might've explained why service was inconsistent. It was pretty clean tho. read more

Normally when I get a sub at a restaurant, it's got the meats. I ordered a sub with salami, turkey, lettuce, mayo and extra pickles. What I got was maybe 3 pieces of turkey and maybe 3 slices of salami. And where were the extra pickles? I counted maybe 5 pickles. Is there a pickle shortage? I order this sub at other places and it pales in comparison. It left me asking, where is the rest of my sandwich?!? Not impressed what-so-ever. read more

If I could choose less than 1 stars I would. First let's start off with the price, it's pretty expensive now keep that in mind when I tell you this. I pulled up and there wasn't anyone there except the two workers... uh oh not off to a great start. When I walked in there was a frozen pizza with toppings sitting on the counter still in the wrap, I noticed this and was very caught off guard because what kind of restaurant has frozen pizzas!!! I get the pizza and guess what, it tastes just like frozen pizza that was heated up in the microwave not even an oven. Never been disappointed eating here . Usually tend to order pastas, and vegetarian dishes for my husband. But, the other night was the first time ordering just a plain cheese pizza- and I am mad I waited so long !! Can usually judge how good any pizza will be based on how the standard plain cheese comes out ! Greek Salad-first start off by saying wasn't a Greek salad. Lots of lettuce not even chopped up. No black olives or olives of any kind. No red onion, green bell pepper or cucumber. As predicted, the day came where I tried Portofino's again. Online ordering, for me, is a huge, huge draw! Honestly, it's kinda the best... I can read through what's on offer, and know that my order went in correctly without having to actually speak to anyone, and of course, if you order online, you get a much more clear ETA for your meal than the guesstimate most people will give you over the phone. Side note: I tried to order directly through their website, but they don't give any details as to what is actually IN each dish! Eat24 has the description written out, and yes, I do need to know exactly what you plan to put in my food. It starts with the cracked glass door greeting you, and only goes down from there....our takeout was bland, almost lifeless, in terms of freshness and originality. We originally bought into their marketing hype, claiming they were something along the lines of the "North End," only to be disappointed with the quality of the food. To make matters worse, they don't seem to be interested in the basics of keeping their restaurant up to par. Clean the floors, decorate, wipe down the tables, fix the front door. The place looks worn down, like old leather or a couch your friend tries to pawn off on you, but you know better...I'd avoid this place. read more

Ordered two steak tip salads and a pizza well done. Got there when they said it would be ready. They only made one salad and said it would be 2 mins to make another. Then when we said we would just take the one salad and the pizza they said the pizza was NOT ready because we asked for it extra crispy. My husband and I just discovered Portofino's. The pizza is the best I've ever had! We ordered delivery and it came in a reasonable time and was very hot. I ordered a spinach and ricotta pizza. This is the second time I've ordered from here.. the first time I had bits of plastic throughout my pasta dish...guessing whoever it was who packed the pasta didn't know to let it cool down or they have cheap plastic covers.. This time was no better. The pasta tasted less than acceptable. It tasted like Ramen noodles...what I could have made for 25 cents. I had the Greek salad w/tuna for lunch today and was quite pleased. Good portion, everything was crisp and fresh with a good ratio of green pepper, cucumber and shaved carrot (held the onion) on the bed of lettuce. The dressing was nice (obv. better at a Greek restaurant) and the tuna salad mixed well (not runny or too naked). I didn't order the baked roll but one was included anyway and boy was it was yummy! I'm so sick of getting a dehydrated old piece of pita that tastes like the holy eucharist with my salad. It was a nice surprise and next time I will order the bread. Definitely worth mentioning! I used the pick-up option on Eat24 and the gentleman working behind the counter was both pleasant and helpful. I just ordered this last night for delivery, when the guy got here he told us not to order on a weekday again because its too far of a drive....what? who says that. Dont put it on your menu that you will deliver here if you dont want too. He also said he was happy to have out business....clearly you arent!!! He also said it was a slow night on monday and tuesdays.....sooooo slow that you cant deliver to me? Get a clue on customer service buddy.... A huge step above normal takeout! The portions are HUGE..feeds two people plus for the price of one! The dish that is my go to is the chicken picatta. I usually get it with the gnocchis, which are amazing! I have had chicken parm which is also very very good. Other people i know who have ordered this take out have also had no complaints.. They bring you fresh bread too! We've ordered from Portofino's upwards of 5 times and every time our food is fresh, steaming hot, and yummy! We've gotten pizza, pasta (so good), chicken fingers (massive and fresh), mozzarella sticks, cheesey fries, salads, so on and every time they pay special attention to any notes and special requests, and they're always faster than the time estimate. I first learned about this establishment when I attended a party that served their Chicken Broccoli Alfredo Ziti (which is very good, FYI). Tonight I decided to try their pizza for the first time, and it certainly didn't disappoint! Very yummy!!! I ordered the "Bianco Pizza" with Ricotta cheese added to it.
