My SO and I used Poseidon Moving in May 2019 for moving out of a 2 bedroom apartment. This was our first time hiring professional movers since we've always been scrappy in doing it ourselves. After our most recent move with our aging parents complaining of aches (we're so nice sparing our friends haha) we decided that our next (hopefully last for awhile) we'd hire movers. I'm glad to report our overall experience was positive with a couple hiccups. I researched other quotes online from Raimonds as well as Stair Hoppers. Poseidon's initial quote was the least expensive range at $130/hr while the others were $155 or $160/hr. I'm so glad we were not on the September 1 lease cycle as with many other people in this large college town area. They have "discount" days which are regular week days. Then for weekends and the beginning/end of the months they have the regular rates. As you get closer to the 9/1 lease date the colors shift to "Peak" and "High Peak" so plan ahead! They also offer services of packing your place up too but I'm sure that is even more expensive. Before confirming the services and the quote, Alex gave me a call to get a basic "inventory" of what we have in our rooms in terms of # of boxes and larger furniture items off the top of my head. I'm sure I missed a few from the initial conversation. However, there's an online account portal where you can go in and edit the info afterwards. I chose the arrival window of 1 - 3PM. Funny enough different from cable companies Jay, the foreman of the job called me at 11:30 AM saying they finished up early and they could head over immediately. I'm such a procrastinator so we were still in the midst of packing up a few last minute items in boxes so I requested they arrive closer to the original agreed upon window. Jay arrived with 2 other crew members. They proceeded efficiently until they hit a wall with one of the bedframes. They said one of the screws was "stripped" so they were unable to fully disassemble it without compromising the integrity of the metal frame... I was a bit skeptical since we've had no issues doing this on our own the past times and the bed has had very little use over the past few years. This issue probably burned about 30-45 minutes where all 3 team members tried different strategies and also floated the idea of having to take out the window to move the item out of the apartment (due to our extremely narrow staircase). Thankfully they figured something out, however it was not without damage! One of the bed post ornaments was completely knocked off leaving a very dangerous and sharp edges. Jay presented this to us as "...an Easter Egg" jokingly, which I don't think was the most professional manner. Anyway with the disappointment they offered us $20 reduction from the total bill. Looking through the other reviews it looks like damage for any of the jobs is not uncommon, which is unfortunate since even moving ourselves as non-professionals we've never had any damage. In terms of moving the items to the areas we wanted they got most of it right. They used many quilts and cellophane wrapping for a lot of items. They added a charge for 5 additional rolls of tape they used at $3/roll. They finished in 5 hours and 45 minutes so the total was $697 before they applied $20 damage credit and 5% credit. I just noticed that they rounded DOWN for the 5% discount of $34.85 giving us $34 instead (when it's much closer to $35) which is not great considering we also tipped them generously before checking their math. While I'm glad we avoided the full day physical labor strain by hiring Poseidon, I think if we have to move again I'd still research and price compare before committing. It's also very peculiar to note that they have MORE filtered reviews than the ones counting towards their reviews... True Rating = 3.5/5 rounded up to 4.

This is the first ever Yelp review I ever done. I love a lot of restaurants I went to but I never bother to use extra time to describe them. BUT! Poseidon must did something amazing since now I'm onto my first ever Yelp review. Maybe it was the precise and concise communication platform design. Maybe it was the punctuality, speedy, and professional moving motion by Emmett, Efinl, and Dilshat. Maybe it was the friendliness of all the people throughout the interactions. Or maybe, I guess most definitely, because they saved a lot of my time and effort and now I'm promoting for them just like all other reviewers did as you can see. The best money I spent in 2019 for sure. What can I say more? I mean, I don't like moving (who does?), but I look forward to meet/work with them again (if I have to have another move)

Save yourself an immense headache and look elsewhere - not sure if the positive reviews here are fake, or if they just assigned me their worst team, but this was the most unprofessional service (not just among movers - any service, period.) that I've experienced in a very long time. 1. Poor Mover Preparedness and Packing: The movers came without tools, without tape, and without shrink wrap. This meant that they did not take apart certain furniture items that I explained were delicate and should be taken apart, and did not protect them. As a result, many items were damaged or flat out broken. (See attached photos for a few examples). 2. Extremely Unprofessional Mover Behaviour (3 examples below, but I have plenty more): i) Upon arriving days later than anticipated (I understand that there can be delays), I asked what happened and Wilton said that they did their best and got there as quickly as they could, but the people that schedule arrival dates are very sloppy. "Nico is just part time", and "Oleg is always on vacation and comes in maybe once a week while we do the real work." ii) When the movers initially came into my home, I asked if there was any way they could avoid stepping on my two rugs. Wilton said that if I "have OCD", I should have covered the rugs in construction paper. After trying to brainstorm a safe way for them to not step on the rugs, Ronaldo was annoyed and said he was leaving and cancelling the job, and that I should find new movers. When I was on the phone with their manager and explained this, Wilton lied and said that Ronaldo didn't say that, and that I was misunderstanding due to a language barrier, but Ronaldo was unloading boxes back into the house and gesturing to Wilton to leave - intentions were very clear. iii) Every time I asked a question, Wilton make me feel like I was the first person to ever ask a question and was extremely annoyed. One example was when I asked to confirm that he would wrap my furniture items after leaving, which he assumed me that he would do, since he did not bring any packing materials. He responded that he "knew how to do his job" and didn't like that I "didn't trust him". Unsurprisingly, this ended up being a complete lie - I have photos of the truck upon delivery showing that some items didn't ever end up being wrapped. He also said "why do you care? You have insurance." iv) Upon delivery, after seeing that some items were broken, I pointed this out to Wilton - he said "So what? Tell the company. That's why you buy insurance isn't it?" He was also wholly unsurprised that things were damaged, which I'm not sure was the best sign. 3) Poor Communication I will admit that Nico was extremely responsive and great to deal with, and that's ultimately why I chose this company. But the positive experience ended there - it was never possible to get in touch with the dispatchers, and Wilton never replied via text - I was never given any notice - not 1 hour, not the guaranteed 24 hours of final delivery, despite being told that the driver would let me know a day in advance. He simply called me on the delivery date, and told me that he was outside the building.

I've moved 5 times in the past 6 years and I just got downright sick of moving on my own. I decided to treat myself and hire movers this time. I found a Groupon deal and purchased the $175 deal for $320 (I think) worth of moving services. Groupon did not indicate that this deal was only meant to be used on peak moving days (first and last days of the month) and I discovered this was the case when I called Poseidon to book their services. They didn't have any availability on the day that I wanted to move, which happened to be a peak day, and I wasn't able to use the $175 Groupon on a non-peak day. Fortunately, I was somewhat flexible with my moving day. I wasn't able to get a refund from Groupon for the $175, but I did get Groupon bucks, which I was mildly annoyed about, but more toward Groupon not Poseidon. I ended up purchasing the $50 Groupon for $100 of service to use on a non-peak day. The booking process was really easy and Oleg was very responsive to my questions. Fortunately, I don't have a lot of things and nothing that was terribly difficult to move. Since I've never hired movers before, I didn't quite know what to expect. My moving men, Slava and Misha, were very considerate and asked me what I wanted moved, wrapped (if it wasn't obvious), and where to place items in the new place. They were very efficient. So efficient that my bill was half as much as what I expected it to be even with the Groupon discount. There were no hidden fees and Oleg explains any additional costs, which for me was only travel time. If I need movers again, I will definitely use them again. read more

My Fiancé and I recently used Oleg and his team to move from Boston to New Hampshire. We wanted movers who were reliable and affordable and got exactly that! They were on time, and extremely fast. I felt bad living on the second floor of an old building since it took us an entire day to move ourselves in a year before, but the three guys were very efficient and wasted no time at all. These guys are great! They came the day after a blizzard... a foot of snow fell. Didn't matter -- they were there on time and easily navigated the Boston streets despite the weather. These guys were amazing. From start to finish, they accommodated all of our needs, were kind, friendly and FAST. I would recommend them to anyone - they took incredible care with our belongings, and despite a narrow hallway and awkwardly angled front door they didn't leave a mark on a wall or a floor. We had three Poseidon movers come to our place to pack everything into boxes. We loaded the rented moving truck and drove 2000 miles and when we unloaded and unpacked it all we found that we did not have anything break. If that doesn't show the precision of packing I don't know what will. I would certainly recommend them to pack your home. read more

Really amazing crew. We had them drive to Connecticut and pick up things there and return to Boston to move things from there to a new apartment in Boston. Woke up to a major snowstorm. Almost everyone else we expected on this day cancelled. NOT these guys...they not only did the job, they did it for the price they quoted even though they spent extra hours on the road to get to/from our home to pick up things for the move. I'm so appreciative and they definitely will get our business the next time we move. read more

I had no idea what to look for in movers (I've never hired any before), so I went online to do some research and find some moving companies in the area. I ended up choosing Poseidon Moving because of their awesome yelp reviews, but I had no idea what my experience would be. They helped me move on Saturday and I have pretty much been talking about them non-stop since then--I had such an amazing experience! To start, their response time to e-mails and calls is incredible. They were so nice and helpful even BEFORE I had my move, so I definitely had a good feeling going into it. On the day of, they were efficient, helpful, nice, and very careful. Poseidon Moving was awesome! I was moving around the corner and up two files of stairs, and these guys were pros. They arrived on time, assessed my things, wrapped everything very carefully and executed the move flawlessly. They even worked to get some of my large items up the stairs when I thought there would be no chance. All of this was after Oleg, the manager helped coordinate the details of my move and personally came out to take a look at some of my larger items to provide an assessment of the stairs. I would highly recommend Poseidon to anyone looking for reasonable movers, especially in the Brookline area as their travel time is limited. Thanks for the awesome help! read more

Poseidon Movers were wonderful to work with. They came as a referral from my brother and step father who have both used their services. They were running late for my reservation due to a previous job but were very communicative throughout the entire process. They called with plenty of notice to let me know they were running 30 minutes behind. Once they arrived they moved very quickly and were very friendly and helpful. Due to the running behind they gave a small discount which was appreciated. The pricing was very affordable and I would recommend them anytime. Thank you Poseidon! read more

Just amazing! Super nice over the phone when I booked the job. Flexible with Groupon requirements. Frequent email reminders very helpful leading up to the job. Job involved several locations and a few cumbersome pieces of furniture. The 3 man crew were so impressive!! Communication was excellent, they called when 45 min. out from my house. They called when arrived at each of my 2 delivery/ pick up locations. It was amazing how they got my super heavy futon and tall bookcase down from my 4th floor apt. Moving day is stressful enough, and it turned ugly for us when the moving guy I had arranged for bailed out on us at the last moment. We called a few numbers we could find through a google search and came across Poseidon. Oleg was very responsive and agreed to push around his existing commitments to make room for us on a super short notice. He arrived within 15 minutes of us getting in touch with him and we were busy loading up in no time. Both Oleg and Tolya were very professional, efficient and meticulous about the job. It was clear that Oleg was very experienced in moving things and new exactly what needed to be done with each item and its placement. One of the shelves did end up getting tipped during the drive so may be that's something to keep in mind for taller shelves in future. The drive was smooth, and the unloading fairly efficient as well. I would hire them again and would recommend these hardworking guys for anyone looking to make their move easy and smooth. read more

Moving is the worst, but these guys made it so much better. These guys were great- I really can't say enough about how patient they were with us and what nice guys they were. We had grossly underestimated how much stuff we had which made the move take MUCH longer than scheduled but these guys were on it. They rearranged things behind the scenes and were great at communicating what was going on. I would recommend them to anyone and would call them again in a heartbeat (even though we hope that we are not moving again anytime soon). read more

Poseidon moving was right on time. I had 2 movers, but only one of the movers actually moved things out of my apartment while the other waited with the truck. Amir was great and super efficient! This was my first time ever using movers, and it was worth it! Nothing ever goes easy for me, but Oleg and Sasha got a move from Waltham to Cambridge in 2 hours! They also accodomated me last minute and had very reasonable rates at $100 an hour. I will absolutely use them again for my next move. Excellent experience - highly recommend! This company exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be happier! First, getting a quote and making a reservation with Oleg went smoothly: clear and speedy communication. Second, Max and Misha both did a FANTASTIC job with the actual move: highly professional, polite, arrived on time, were really respectful/careful wrapping & padding the furniture, and worked very fast and efficiently (the entire move took 3 hours, and they didn't take a break!). Overall, I'm genuinely impressed with the quality of Poseidon Moving's service, and all of this at a very reasonable price. I couldn't recommend them strongly enough! Definitely 6 STARS! read more

These guys were excellent. They were professional, efficient, and fun to work with (as fun as moving two truckloads of stuff into a 3rd floor walk up at 6 AM could possibly be anyway). Throughout the process, they were thoughtful and took excellent care of our belongings. We were really impressed with the team and grateful to have had such a good experience. I used Poseidon Moving for a long distance move from Boston to Michigan. It was the longest move they had done before and it went great. They were by far the most reasonably priced quote I got and were willing to be flexible and show up when I asked in Michigan to allow my family time to get to our new place. They were so professional and very careful. They did a great job wrapping all of the furniture and even helping us reassemble furniture when we got there. While we were moving out, the lady that lived below us even commented that she had no idea we were moving since they were so quiet. read more

Poseidon was great! We requested our move at sort of the last minute (just 1 week before) and they were very accommodating. When I didn't fill out the online form correctly, they just called to clarify things so I could get the best rate possible. All the happy reviewers here are right. I just had Poseidon handle a small studio-ish move within JP for me, and all was excellently handled. They actually showed up a little early, got to work right quick, and took perfect care of fragiles (TVs). I had new Ikea furniture, and they happily assembled the bed for me (all we had time for). Also, payment in cash meant a 10% discount. All in all, I highly, highly recommend these guys, and will just call them again next time I move in Boston. read more

Slava, Kevin and Andrei were absolutely terrific! They came to the top of our 3rd story walk up (with winding stair cases!), took a look around, and said "Let's get to work!" The move got done much more quickly than expected (4 hours between Boston and Hopkinton)- you literally will not see these guys take a break. They were friendly, efficient, and great to work with. They wrapped and blanketed furniture, and handled everything with a lot of care. Each item went where we wanted it (and we were asked when there was uncertainty). We felt genuinely catered to and relaxed during what we all know to be an incredibly stressful process. Could not recommend Poseidon enough. read more

Amazing again. Used these movers twice and they are reliable, reasonable pricing, efficient, and friendly. Would highly recommend using Poseidon for any type of move. They offer a discount if you pay with cash which is great as well. They communicate very well with you as well. Never had an issue reaching them or with scheduling. They also take into account any time restraints you may have (I needed to be done by a certain time and they made that happen with a little time to spare). Do not hire this demolition crew. We had to move from our apartment into a new home we just bought and hired Poseidon Moving mostly because they were available and had a good looking website. Later friends kept asking why we didn't go with Gentle Giant or another such reputable company. Good question. With a 20/20 hindsight I wish we did. I wish someone would steer us away. Now about the move. The good news is that 90% of our stuff arrived intact. The figure would have been closer to 60% though had we not packed all fragile items very thoroughly as the movers routinely failed to pay any attention to the labels we covered the boxes with on all or most sides. A heavy box with books was resting on top of a box with glassware, for example, etc. Upon arrival everything was just dumped in the living room. I needed to personally interfere and ask for certain items to go upstairs or downstairs. By that time the boxes have piled up and the movers were in such a rush to get it over with that it was impossible to ask them to deliver each item to the room it belongs to. One of the movers was unmasked pretty much the entire time, and that was back the pandemic was still raging and very few people were vaccinated! As a result, I ended up almost throwing my back carrying one heavy box after the other up or down stairs. This would have been completely avoidable had they simply read the labels. My dresser got damaged beyond repair during unloading. They were up on the 2nd floor trying to repair it for a while before they notified us of the damage and would likely not even tell us anything if they succeeded. The filing cabinet got scratched pretty badly too. I will likely need to replace it altogether since it's an eyesore and won't be a part of any room I'd like people to see ever again. By far the worst part of the whole experience was what they did to our new home. If you have done any house hunting recently, you know how difficult it is to buy a home these days and can relate to how elated we were after decades of renting and saving to finally own a place we can call our own, and a beautiful one! You will also understand how utterly shocking it was to see it get brutalized in front of our eyes. The screen door was opened with such force that a chunk of the frame broke off around the hinge! The floors, otherwise in impeccable shape, were scratched very badly in the entire ground level. Many of the scratches are deep into the wood the estimate for repair came in at $950. The total value of damages we sustained was over $1500 and while I understand that under the basic liability the furniture is only covered at 60 cents per pound, there are still $1100 in damages to our home alone. None of these damages are acceptable as a normal part of any moving experience. If we hire professionals to help with the move, we do so to a large degree to avoid situations when the property gets damaged or destroyed. At this point I wish I could say Poseidon Moving stepped up and made things right, but in reality they were slow to respond and evasive about their responsibility in regards to the damages to our home. After weeks of communication they offered an amount that barely covers a 1/3 of the expense we are facing as a result of their actions. I don't usually write reviews and am not big on damaging anyone's reputation, but I feel like our experience needs to be shared. read more

Poseidon Moving helped my Boston-to-LA move in July 2020 and were AMAZING. I'll split this review into 3 parts: 1. *Leading up to the move*: Their customer service was wonderful. I spoke mainly with Alex to get a booking and a quote. Since the move was fairly sudden for me, I'd already had difficulties finding other moving companies with openings (this was a cross-country move with only a few weeks' notice) and who were within budget. Alex managed to squeeze my move in with some others who were also making east to west coast moves around the same time. I had already done my research to make sure the company was registered with the US Department of Transportation FMCSA and BBB Accredited (which they are) but still had tons of questions about moving logistics/pricing, which Alex was kind enough to walk through with me in a very patient and long phone call. I received a quote very quickly after confirming the amount of items I had. As the move-out date got closer I also got multiple reminders via email and phone. 2. *Day of moving out*: The day of I received two phone calls ahead of the scheduled arrival time as a heads up. My movers were Vlad and Slav and they were excellent! The streets around my apartment were narrow, one-way streets with parking on both sides. With the street layout the way it was, they had to back up their giant moving truck into a tight 90-degree T intersection without scratching any of the cars parked on all sides, which was amazing to watch...they were also both very respectful of Covid guidelines and wore masks the entire time. Everything was packed beforehand already except for large furniture, which they took apart and wrapped with blankets and shrink wrap. Total time was about 2-3 hours (including the difficulty parking). Excellent job. 3. *Day of moving in*: I was not actually present on the day of moving in due to the timing of the truck's arrival vs my flight, and my landlord let in the movers. Vlad and his moving partner stacked everything neatly and rebuilt the furniture they had taken apart (just a full-sized bedframe and mattress for this move), and sent me a picture when they were all done to make sure I was happy with the layout. I was able to pay by card through the phone with Alex after confirming that everything looked as it should. All in all, super painless and easy - when I arrived at the apartment everything was accounted for and nothing damaged. Summary: This was my first big move so I was very nervous but everyone I interacted with at Poseidon was very professional and friendly. I couldn't have asked for better movers. They definitely earned 5 stars! One thing to keep in mind: There is an additional charge for having the movers walk long distances from your home to the truck. I already expected this because of how the streets are in my neighborhood, and Alex told me beforehand so no surprises in the pricing. read more

SIX STARS. I spent two days on the phone with various moving companies looking for the right people to lug our stuff from Cambridge, MA to New York City. Prices ranged from $950 to $3000. We were hoping to come in somewhere around $1250. I know that was low-balling it, especially given that we were moving into a 4th floor walk-up, but the broker's fee on our apartment took a big old bite out of our bank account and moving to New York without some financial padding is a mistake. Anyhow, of all the companies I spoke with on the phone, Oleg, the owner/operator of Poseidon had, by far, the best customer service skills. You could hear him smiling on the other end of the phone. He asked that I send him a list of our things-- an approximation on our end to allow for an approximation on theirs. He was on a moving job at the time, but wrote be back with a flat fee, committal quote. I had three quotes in total that I was deciding between, and Poseidon's landed in the middle. My instincts told me to go with the voice that sounded the most honest and my instinct couldn't have been more correct. We scheduled a pickup in Cambridge at 6AM and Oleg and his coworker Max were there at 6AM on the DOT and immediately got working. Nothing slowed these guys down and Oleg was an impressive bundle of positive energy. We were slightly over our estimate for the things we needed moved and I'd read horror stories on yelp about other moving companies either extorting their customers or just walking away from the job in situations like that. Nope. Oleg and Max just smiled and made it happen, wrapping every big piece in protective blankets along the way. In New York, it was 90 degrees, humid and they had to park in front of a hydrant to get our stuff into our building. I stood watch over the truck while Oleg and Max ran up and down three flights of stairs tirelessly for two and a half hours to get all of our things into our apartment in an organized fashion. They even disassembled a piece of IKEA furniture because it wouldn't fit up the stairwell. These guys are AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING. Seriously. I can't imagine that any of the $3000 moving companies could have done a better job. Oleg and Max were PERFECT. We tipped over 20% on our flat rate, and these guys deserved every cent. If I were richer, I'd have tipped them more. These comments are from my original move, October 29, 2015: I cannot say enough about them. They were awesome! I have moved quite a bit in my life around the country and they were the best by far. I wondered if they would really live up to the hype of the Yelp reviews and they absolutely lived up to it and more. Tony, Slava, and Stan were extremely careful with my furniture, prompt and were incredibly efficient with their time. There was a narrow, winding stairway to the third floor in the apartment I was moving from and there were no scratches or scuff marks on the wall at the end. One thing that really caught my attention is that one of the guys noticed that a heavy piece of furniture wasn't quite centered on the wall and asked one of the others to help him and they lifted it up to move it over just a couple of inches. There was no dragging it over the wood floors. That helps illustrate their attention to detail and respect for the furniture and flooring. Tony even fixed two things that were wobbly and just needed an extra screw or nail. I highly recommend them!!! I was so impressed with them that I contacted them again to help me again in June. Comments from June 22, 2016 move: Alex and Sasha helped me this time and they were just as great! I had some things that needed to go to the apartment from a storage unit. It was not a big move, just a couple of pieces of furniture. They paid the same attention to detail and offered to help me move some of the furniture around once we got it in the apartment. They were timely and efficient as well as accommodating, agreeing to make a quick trip to Goodwill, which was a couple of blocks over. It was another excellent interaction with this company! He kept me in the loop while he found other customers to fill their truck for a long distance drive from NYC and worked with me to ensure I got the best rate possible. He was extremely clear about what was included in the rate and what would be an extra charge. The guys were SO friendly, moved very quickly and were extremely professional and kept their distance the entire time- they definitely made me feel safer having people in my home during COVID 19. They didn't damage anything, not even my flimsy IKEA furniture that is extremely easy to break and basically falls apart when you lift it. They knew how to disassemble everything quickly as well which saved me a lot of time and headache. I feel like all the negative reviews complaining about minor damages are just sad angry cheap people looking to get a discount. Obviously don't paint your walls or make huge change to your home right before a move, things can and will get walls dirty. Obviously buy insurance if you're moving long distance and care about your items (I bought insurance but luckily didn't have to use it). People are so crazy and don't take responsibility for their own mistakes and cheapness. TLDR; great service, extremely fair price (you get what you pay for...if a rate is too good to be true it probably is), excellent communication and very friendly employees. I did quite a bit of research on this as this was sure to be an extremely long and traumatic day. It was long but not stressful in the least. To a man every one of the six young men that participated were competent and showed an enormous amount of professionalism. Just as importantly an obsession with our satisfaction. It worked, I cannot say enough good things about them. We had tried them out ten days before by having them move belongings out of a rented storage area to our new home. Tony and Max were awesome and decided at that point to trust them with my wife and all our other "stuff". They showed up at 10am with two trucks and we finished at 11pm that night after I bought them some pizza, God knows they deserved it. They even came back the next day because they had missed some things the night before, and without trying to charge me more money! Even more unusual for a moving company. Oleg, the owner, came out to give me a quote for the second move and the final price was actually within 10% of what he quoted. Amazing! These guys are the real deal, a young company committed to success through customer satisfaction and this is to be admired. Simply put, these guys are great! After having a bad movers experience in the past, I was dreading having to deal with movers again for my move this month from Cambridge to Brookline. I came across Poseidon Moving randomly and when I got a cost estimate I couldn't believe it--they were literally going to charge half of the other estimates I got from different companies. I was nervous about "you get what you pay for" but with Poseidon Moving, it isn't the case. They stayed in constant communication with me about their ETA and showed up on time. I was a little hesitant when only two guys arrived to haul all my stuff but they did it with lightning speed and care--including wrapping my larger furniture and taking things apart like my bed frame and kitchen table. They were also very friendly and made me feel calm during the chaos of the day. Moving my stuff into the new apartment was the same good experience. They arrived a little late but called me well ahead of time to let me know of the hold-up. All of my stuff was moved in with care and reassembled in record speed. And when it came time to pay them--I was shocked at the actual cost. Even with supplies it was less than I thought; they truly are hardworking and don't try to nickel and dime you. If I ever move again in this area, I'm using Poseidon Moving. They are affordable, efficient, trustworthy, accommodating, polite, and kind. Definitely check them out! read more

I recently used Poseidon again for a move in August 2018 and didn't have as great of an experience as I did the first time I used them-- but, I actually want to make this a 2 1/2 star review if I could. I had a time limit for when I needed to be out of my current apartment so I scheduled my move for first thing in the morning at 8am. The movers didn't arrive until 9:30am and even worse there was ZERO communication as to why they were running late; I called the office 4 times during this time period and kept getting an answering machine. Anyone who's moved knows how stressful it is and having zero communication during a 90-minute late period is unacceptable. Also, the company has a 3-hour minimum pricing policy meaning no matter how long your move actually takes you will pay for 3-hours worth of work. I knew this going into the move but was desperate for help so I went ahead with the contract. After being 90 minutes late, the move itself only took 90 minutes so I basically ended up paying double what I actually needed to. Again, I knew this up-front but definitely something to keep in mind if you have a quick move it's definitely NOT WORTH IT. The movers themselves were friendly and quick but after being 90-minutes late with little/no explanation, I was pretty much over it. I would consider using this company again for a long-distance move but definitely not for a quick move. read more

Poseidon just helped me move from Boston to North Carolina and I couldn't be happier with their service. I had a large apartment and there was no guarantee that we'd be able to fit everything into their largest truck, but they took great car and attention to this concern and they were ultimately able to pack everything by being conscientious of how they packed. They did so in near 100-degree weather having to lift very heavy boxes and furniture down stairs and across the complex I lived in, and worked their tails off all while keeping a positive attitude. In addition to being efficient in loading my belongings they were also very quick at moving and unloading them - everything was packed from my apartment in Boston unloaded into my new home in NC within 72 hours. Carlos/Fabian/Obi/Julio helped me move out of the Boston apartment, and Fabian/Julio/Luis drove the truck to NC and helped me into the NC house. I can't say enough good things about them, they were terrific. There were very minimal negatives to my experience. They came about an hour later than their projected start time, but that gave me a little bit more time to pack and they were still able to load everything quicker than expected. There were a few small dings on some of the furniture after unpacking but nothing more than one can expect with a move. If I had to move again I'd totally choose Poseidon. read more

This past August, I was moving out of an apartment where my roommate was just nuts. The situation between me and my roommate had gotten to the point where the courts were involved and each of us had lawyers. The details around moving out (time, date, etc) were worked out between our lawyers. The day of the move came and I had all my stuff packed up and ready. 5 minutes after the Poseidon movers showed up, it started thunder storming. The movers informed me that they couldn't move during the storm (100% understandable) for safety reason. When the movers heard about my situation, the movers offered to either: a) come back in a few hours after the storm passed (very generous given that it was already 4pm) or b) come back in the morning. I was fine with either of these options... however my roommate was nuts and an unreasonable. The situation was quickly starting to devolve when the mover in charge (Efim) calmly asked if he could go negotiate with the roommate himself. Efim was able to reason with my nutbar borderline personality roommate and really really saved my butt. I'm writing this review because I wanted to broadcast my gratitude to Efim. He didn't have to offer to do my move late into the night. And negotiating between roommates is definitely above and beyond what anyone would reasonable expect a mover to do. I hired Poseidon Moving to move my furniture from one apartment to another. Did my love of classical mythology influence my choice? Possibly, although I don't understand what the god of the sea has to do with a moving company. That's neither here nor there though, I was given a two-hour window in which they would show up, and they came about 45 minutes into it, they were easily able to take everything that I had asked them to, including a few other things that I forgot to put on the list. They offered both moving and disposal services, which was handy as I had some furniture to get rid of as well. I even asked them to reassemble my bed when they brought it to the new place and they were able to do so in like 2 minutes, way faster than if I had tried to do it myself. Overall the whole process only took about two hours total. I probably could have even had them move other boxes and stuff that I had chosen to do myself, I was under the impression I was being charged per item, but I think it was more about time and labor. The fact that I only had them move the big furniture items, and that my new place is only about a 10-minute drive from my old place was likely a factor, but nevertheless, they were quick and efficient, and I would definitely recommend Poseidon Moving to anyone looking for a moving company, especially if you're a seafaring ancient Greek. read more

I want to commend Poseidon Moving with the highest rating! Over the years we have moved from NY to MINN to NY to Texas to NY to CT to Boston (we are experienced movers!) and this was the smoothest of them all, and the first time where everything arrived in 100% perfect condition. Fabian Berrios is outstanding. He managed the Boston packing to the Florida unpacking. He managed a crew of 3 additional movers in Boston and did an exceptional job. He was careful and diligent in making sure everything was packed and wrapped securely and safely. The additional three movers worked as hard as I have seen anyone work and had the truck packed tightly and securely. At the storage pick-up point in Stamford, Emmet Sackor joined Fabian with the second truck. Again the two of them worked tirelessly to load the contents and head to Florida, where they had everything unpacked and in place two days later. Again, Fabian was exceptional as was Emmet. He and Emmet made sure all of the furniture and boxes went exactly where we wanted them. He reassembled all furniture as promised. His communication throughout the move was continuous and much appreciated. He would call or text with timing updates frequently and had everything done in the time frame promised. I recommend Poseidon Moving with the highest rating for local and long-distance moves. read more

I had Slava and Max come help me move yesterday. They were awesome. They came on time and quickly moved all my stuff. I had more things than anticipated, but they were able to make quick work of it without issue. Besides the extra stuff, I was thinking that it may have been annoying for them as I had most of my things staged in the living room, while another roommate had their items also staged there for moving in, but it turned out fine. Max and Slava asked me to do a quick walk through of what was mine, they took a mental note, and went to work; all of my stuff was ferried into the truck, and the other person's laid untouched in the living room. Similarly, off loading went without a hitch. Slava and Max walked with me to my new room, asked me if there was a particular place I'd want things, then the two of them unloaded with the same coordinated efficiency demonstrated during the move out. Overall my sentiments pretty much align with the other 5 star reviews, as they did everything I'd expected of nice people and great movers. Wish I remembered the guy who I talked to at Poseidon dispatch's name. He really helped the process as well. He cared to make sure he went over what they charge for (moving time, the truck driving out, and that's it), so I wasn't hit with unexpected fees. read more

Incredible experience! Worked with an excellent account manager (Maggie A.) who worked with me four weeks before my move and spoke with me multiple times between as logistics changed and quantity increased. She was transparent and helped me make decisions based on best cost outcome/rate. She was always available by email and phone. The actual movers were also very impressive. It was a pleasure working with Raheem and Jevaughn. They connected with me two days before the move and discussed additional details and made recommendations for packing certain items (e.g., bins vs cardboard boxes pros and cons). They provided me constant updates on ETA on the day of the move. On the day of the move, they were efficient and extremely careful with wrapping and protecting my furniture. Raheem even noticed a loose chair and fixed it on the spot (asking permission first) then delicately wrapped it. Additionally I had a giant mirror and they took the time to carefully craft a secure box for it. Picture attached. My furniture was delivered two days later by the same team that packed me (Raheem and Jevaughn) which helped ease the experience. No potential loss of furniture working with two separate teams. I used Poseidon Moving to move my belongings from Boston to New York this week. I am highly satisfied with the entire experience from beginning to end. First I want to compliment Alex who answered the phone when I first called. We went over the inventory of belongings as he gave me a price by phone. I was so nervous the price would change once the movers arrived but the price stayed exactly the same and I am so relieved and thankful. Poseidon had my family's belongings on their truck as they moved us to NY so we definitely felt vulnerable but they made us feel comfortable from the beginning. When Kevin and Peter arrived at our apartment in Boston they made sure to treat our furniture and belongings as if it were there own. They did a fabulous job. Then the next day was supposed to be the move to NY but we had the Bomb genesis snow storm and I was nervous the truck would not make it. Alex from the office made me feel secure that our stuff would be safe and they would hold on to it for an extra day. On Friday Kevin was back along with another Alex and they did a great job unloading everything from the truck with care. We had an extremely positive experience with Poseidon moving. Their phone staff were pleasant and responsive. Their site was easy to use w/ an online inventory that helped me estimate our quantity. Our guys from Poseidon, Slava, Gena, and Kevin were a dream team. We had a complicated move. I had a storage space we needed to empty out in addition to the move from a 1 bedroom apt. to a new home. My wife also had furniture arriving at the house on the day of the move and at the last minute we found out they couldn't deliver into the house. Slava's team easily took up the slack. They handled the storage space quickly and efficiently. Got their 26" truck tucked into our parking lot w/o troubling the neighbors. They packed the truck while I went to the house to wait for the furniture and after they arrived at the house they unpacked the new furniture, got it upstairs, and assembled it for us. They didn't waste time. They moved quickly without rushing. They were smart, adapting to the situation as required. Nothing (our possessions, the apt, nor the home) was damaged in any way. And on top of all this, they were really likable guys. They made the potentially horrific ordeal of moving, fun! read more

BEST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!!! I never thought I would say those words, but after my experience with Poseidon, I can say them with enthusiasm! I had to move from Cambridge to NYC, and I had my stuff stored in multiple locations. Nico spent hours on the phone with me, figuring out a way that we could make it work, and taking care each step of the way to ensure the situation had as little stress as possible. The best part is, despite the complicated (and very last minute) move, Nico quoted me a price that was far lower than all the other companies I had spoke with. On the actual moving day, the movers were on time, excellent with communication, and all my stuff arrived without any incident or damage whatsoever. I really have to say that Nico went above and beyond anything I could ever have expected from a moving company. I called him countless times, he was always available and always there to answer my questions and ease my stress. I really can't thank Nico and the Poseidon team enough, and I will strictly be using Poseidon anytime I move anywhere in the future (they have offices in lots of places!). OMG!! These guys are simply fantabulous. We used few movers before nothing nothing like Oleg the owner and his team. Their promptness is very impressing. They send an email confirmation, reminder call day before and 20 mnts early show up..they care for our stuff and fine impressive packing. More over very pleasant, ,enthusiastic,professional,accommodative , fun young boys.you can not find this price,I bet!! Much much cheaper and very reasonable prices than any body around Massachusetts . My family is too happy using them as our movers. Poseidon Moving is hands down the moving company to choose if you're moving in the Boston area. Moving is already so much stress, and it was so refreshing and stress-relieving to find that Oleg and Yeuriz were professional, incredibly efficient, and attentive to process (they took the time to strategize how best to move everything two flights down in a matter of minutes). The movers ran a little late on the last Saturday of the month, but were quick to communicate the delay (and which, conveniently, gave me some extra time to finish getting everything packed). The folks at Poseidon Moving communicate effectively and exceed all the criteria in a moving company. Note on cost for the detail-oriented: The rate is $100/hour from start to finish, including the time it takes the movers to get to your place, to transport the stuff to the destination, and for them to get back to the headquarters. Keep an eye out for Groupons! So worth it. read more

Had a terrific experience - moving is never fun, but what would have been an exhausting day was made far better with Poseidon Moving's help. We were referred by a friend who had only good things to say about Oleg and his team, and they were spot on! Oleg even agreed to move up our scheduled start time a couple hours on relatively short notice, and arrived right on time the day of the move. We were going from a small one-bedroom on the ground level to a third-floor walk up on a rocky embankment, and on a freezing cold day at that. Oleg and his crew-mate loaded quickly and efficiently, unloaded just the same, and literally had smiles on their faces the entire time. All of our things made it safely and in one piece and they even offered to help set up some of our furniture. Oleg's prices were competitive, and even though it took a little longer than expected due to the extra stairs, we'd absolutely use them again in a heartbeat. read more
