I just had a wonderful experience with Ray (I think that is his name?) from Poseidon Watersports/bike rentals. My daughter's bike chain broke. Poseidon is the closest bike-related outfit we found in Cape Charles. Even though we didn't rent the bike from Poseidon, Ray went right to work to repair the chain. Most of the links in his toolbox were sized for beach rentals and too wide for my daughter's bike chain; nonetheless, Ray engineered a solution on the spot. After a few adjustments the chain engaged smoothly thru the gears. The bike now rides beautifully! Ray did not expect payment for his kind service, even though he spent considerable time with the repair. Ray was determined to find a fix, even though I interrupted his lunch and he was also preparing a boat for an afternoon outing. Of course I insisted on compensating! I happened to be searching for places to go jet ski in Virginia Beach and this came up. I started following them on IG and sent them a DM to say thanks for the follow back. From there, it was the best experience I've had on a jet ski. They answered in a timely fashion and even set up a reservation through IG. When we got there, check in was smooth and we didn't have to wait long to get on the jet ski. I've been on jet skis before, and this was the best trip. There was no cap as to how fast we could go. I got mine up to 68. My friend got hers to 70. We had a blast. You can see dolphins (we didn't on this trip) and head out to the abandon vessels towards the right. You have a vast open area on the bay to have fun on the jet skis. These prices were a lot better than Virginia Beach prices. You do have to take into consideration the toll, but I would rather pay for an hour and the toll instead of paying the same price in VB for only a half hour. You also don't have to put down a deposit like some places do in case something happens to the jet ski (some places put a $500 hold on card). read more

We had a great time! We went out for two hours in search of sea creatures and were guided by the best (I think his name was John, but I'm kinda deaf) who showed us around the area. I'm not sure if they do official tours or not but we were treated to information on the area/wildlife, and had such a blast! I know if you want to just hop on a jet ski and freely go around the area (with someone keeping an eye from a distance), that's good too. If we get to come back to the area for vacation, this company is the only one we will use for jet ski rentals! Also, they let us know ahead of time when the water was going to be too rough and recommended the best time for us beginners. Although we had no previous skills they made it so easy and gave the play by play on how to operate - I felt comfortable for a first timer. I can't recommend them enough!!! read more

This is the second time we rented a paddle board from Poseidon within three years. Both times we camped at Kiptopeke and they delivered the SUP, paddle and life jacket to the beach in the AM and picked it up at the end of the day. We had a great experience with Poseidon Watersports. We rented a kayak one day for a couple of hours and we rented jet ski another day for an hour. Thanks to Raven for all the help with picking the best days and times for the best weather and conditions. Appreciate all the phone calls and weather updates. Raven was more interested in our entertainment then he was in the money. Everything was reasonably priced and all of the equipment was in great condition. Also thanks to Yates for an quick and easy check-in and thanks to Wade for being our "tour guide" during our jet ski ride. Very knowledgeable of the area. So I rented a jet ski from this business while I was vacationing in Cape Charles KOA. The owner I think is name was Ray explained an overview of how to operate the jet ski and told me to listen in as he explained the boundary lines to another customer so I only heard the tail end of the boundary line rules. Him or his co worker said he would show me how to work the walkie talkie they keep in the jet ski glove box which they never did. I decided not to bring my cell phone. The jet ski ran fine and I thought it would be fun to go exploring with it before I returned it. There's a lighthouse near the campground that I thought would be ok to check out so i drove under the bridge to check it out and near the light house is a sand bar that impossible to spot unless you know the area and if Ray would have made it very clear to me not to go by that area I wouldn't have gone there. Well, I beached the jet ski and not knowing how to use or what channel they were on the radio I had and with no cell phone I was in a bit of some trouble. The jet ski was beached too far for me to ski out and too heavy to move by myself so I tried playing around with the radio and by chance I was able to contact the Coat Guard and they thank God we're able to contact my wife and tell her I was ok since I've been stuck for over an hour trying to frantically find help. The Coast Guard contacted Poseidon Water Sports and told them of my location and soon enough an employee who called himself Magic came to my rescue. Magic had the idea of manually moving the jet ski by grabbing it on one side and moving it in front of the other kinda walking it out off the sand bar. We were doing fine and I really was committed to rescuing this jet ski then he just calls it quits and decides to abandon the jet ski and take me back to my family which I'm not complaining about; my wife was frantically crying thinking I drowned in the ocean so I was happy to see my family when I was returned to the KOA beach area. I met up with Ray right after I was returned to my family only to be chewed out in front of my wife and kids on the beach area. He was very upset that I smiled as I was being reunited with my frantic wife. I was only smiling because I was relieved to be back with my family again and Ray took offense to that and continued to chew me out saying that he was upset that I contacted the Coast Guard and that I abandoned the jet ski which again it was Magic's idea to abandon it not me. Then he contacts me that same day a little while later demanding $500 or else he's going to call the police and his lawyer on me. I showed in I wasn't afraid and told him to go ahead and call the police since it wasn't a police matter matter. Honestly it was awkward being on that private beach again for the rest of my vacation so we decided to have our beach days at Virginia Beach instead. I felt like Ray could of handled the situation more professionally instead of over and over saying "...I'm not trying to club you man but..." Do not threaten your customers with the police that have just been through a traumatic situation that's not even a police matter. And don't get all bent out of shape over a smile that wasn't even meant for you. And another thing, it's not my fault your insurance coverage only covers specific boundaries, if it was that important you should have specifically told me the boundaries instead of having me listen in to the tail end of a different conversation you were having with someone else. Maybe you should say "ok so before you go once again the boundaries are there there and there and remember we are on channel 8 on the radio if you need help." A good recap does wonders believe me I'm in customer service. Other than that I had a great vacation at Cape Charles KOA. read more
