If you're looking to get active during the pandemic, Pedego Norfolk is the place to go. I started looking for a new bike in May after finally paying off my car. I was looking to get more active after being confined to my apartment for most of the spring, and unfortunately most local places were sold out of anything due to disruptions in production and shipping. At this point I was curious about giving electric a try, and seeing as how I was close to work it could become my primary form of local transportation. I stopped by on a Saturday, and Kevin (one of the owners) was happy to allow me to try several models free of charge or stipulations. He was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the process, and the bikes themselves were a ton of fun to ride. Ultimately I decided between two: the Gorilla fat tire bike and the Ford Supercruiser. I still wanted time to make my decision and told him I would return by the end of the month once I had made up my mind over whether or not to make a major purchase. In the meantime, I did more research as well as checked out a local competitor. The competitor's product was inferior, and the employees did not know much about the specs on the electric bike I tried at their location. I returned to Pedego Norfolk two weeks later as promised and left happily with my Ford Supercruiser. Amy and Kevin have been amazing to work with. I have only had minor issues with the bike since, and they have been very helpful during those moments. I definitely recommend their business for anyone looking to purchase a bike. read more

He got to know us and wasn't pushy but very knowledgeable. He ended up giving us a coupon for a free couple of hours! We booked an Electric Bike tour through our cruise ship excursions. Amy met us at the dock and we walked a few blocks to the Pedego store in Norfolk. We were given helmets and a few instructions about our bikes and off we went on a 20 mile round trip tour. Amy led our group of five riders on the Elizabeth River Trail, stopping to see sights such as the Armed Services War Memorial, the Battleship Wisconsin, and the Hermitage Museum. A group of us rented the bikes for a guided tour of Historic Norfolk areas. I highly recommend this activity. I would have liked to stay at each historic point of interest a little longer to take it all in. A shelf guided tour would allow you to go at your own pace. We stopped at The Bakehouse at Chelsea during the trip. Some roads and paths were closed and we had to detour around. The bikes can be very fast with speeds above 21-mph. read more

I discovered Pedego on Facebook and they now sell Onewheels and accessories! They sell just killer electric bikes and do tours as well as rent them out. I'm more for the Onewheels at the moment and I find myself going there about once a week to purchase accessories for it, they even carry the Thousand helmets which I went to DC to check em out before I new about Pedego, I even found an awesome bike headlight that fit on the side of my Onewheel! The guys who own and run Pedego are just great people too ,so I tend to try and support places like this because it's so hard to find a good spot like this! My husband and I were looking forward to our first electric bike ride so I found Pedego online. Upon arrival, the staff was very courteous and helpful. He explained how the electric bike worked and showed us all the ins and outs on how to enjoy our ride. He also gave us a map of a trail to follow. We had an amazing ride and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We rode almost 17 miles from Harbor Park to the Old Dominion University area. We were provided locks so we stopped for lunch. Overall, the electric bikes are great! You can pedal when you want or just enjoy the electric ride. I wish I could remember the name of the young man who helped us. Fabulous electric bike retail and rental in downtown Norfolk. My husband and I did the 2 bikes/ 2 hour $50 special. The owner set us up w/ everything we could need- helmets, locks, Phone holder, map, water refill and a thorough explanation of the bikes' features. Our ride up the Elizabeth River Trail was so fun- we definitely made it further and faster with the electric assist. Wow, I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We went in together to rent some bikes for a ride and Wesley was so kind and attentive. He even biked over to the nearby trail with us so we wouldn't get lost. The bikes were a lot of fun and I felt confident being on the road and the trail. Was a great return to cycling for me after a long time without a bike and was a great introduction to cycling for my wife. 2 months ago Stumbled into Pedego Norfolk because the store is located where our favorite coffee shop used to be when we had an apartment over here about a decade ago. That, plus the fact that 1) my wife had indicated some interest in eBikes, and 2) I'm pretty much into anything that has wheels and moves, had me curious. Plus which, in about 1962 I had a clapped-out Whizzer motorized bicycle, a lightly-modified Schwinn cruiser with no functional brakes and no clutch that could do about 35mph. You learned to Think Ahead on THAT bike. Anyway, I wound up deciding to buy the folding Pedego Latch as a birthday/Christmas/49th Anniversary surprise for my wife, to carry with us in our motorhome trips around the country. She liked it, and I did too, but eventually we decided to get something else. Amy, who owns the store with her hubs and ace mechanic Kevin, took it back and we got my wife a white Interceptor (an aggressive name for a rather chill cruiser bike) AND a red City Commuter for me! Also, a Thule X2 carrier to transport them. Their after-sale service has been exceptional; when both bikes proved to have minor issues that neither they nor we caught at delivery, Kevin drove 55 miles to our house in Williamsburg at night in the rain, fixed my bike's headlight, spent several hours chasing down and finding a glitch in my wife's bike's Pedal Assist function, took the bike back with him and, a day later, Amy arrived back at our house with a brand-new Interceptor for my wife! Since then I've been on three or four group rides of about 35 miles each led by Amy and some helpers that have been great fun. My bike is now getting its free 200-mile checkover. And I bought an Element, just for grins, for trail and beach riding. It's a blast! Great products, great people, great service. The best time!! I took my son and nephew out by MacArthur and walked into this contemporary bike store that had electric bikes. None of us had ever been on an electric bike before. Amy was super nice and patient showing us the controls and how the bike balanced and rode. We took the Elizabeth River Trail out for about an hour. The max speed we got the bikes was 21 on the speedometer on the side. It was soooooooo much fun! Highly recommend and will be going back!!!! read more

My husband and I stuck our heads in the door of Pedego Norfolk one recent afternoon while we were shopping downtown, and 30 minutes later we emerged from the shop with ear-to-ear smiles, maps of the city, a colorful t-shirt, and an invitation to attend a local cycling-theatre performance followed by an evening group Glow Ride through the downtown area of the city.
