Summer talked me through the whole process as someone new to blow-outs and gave me the option at the end of whether or not to add curls with a curling iron. I have never had such volume or hold in my hair and I received so many compliments at the event I was attending. My hair held for a couple days and I felt amazing! I really wanted to like Posh KC because they were a convenient location for my wedding and I had heard good things. However, the summary of my experience with Posh KC is that I felt taken advantage of multiple times. I would, unfortunately, recommend staying away from this company for wedding-related services to avoid the headache. Here are details if you'd like to know more. Bridal makeup trial issues: My under-eye creased before I even left Posh and my mascara ran quickly after I left. Lip application was uneven and she could not match the color I requested after multiple attempts. Her eyeshadow application made my eyes look smaller after I explained I had hooded eyes and needed a different technique. I could see my acne scars through the foundation. I did a retrial of my makeup w a different person (Rachel) and was very pleased! They did not make it difficult to do another trial, which I did appreciate. Hair was great the first time with Alyssa, so I didn't do a hair retrial. Issues with scheduling: Hair and makeup for the rehearsal dinner is included in the bridal package. They did not proactively schedule my rehearsal dinner session. I physically came into the store to get it set up, and the lady at the front desk laughed when she looked at the schedule (which did not make me feel great). She said they were likely not available the date of my rehearsal dinner (even though it should have been in my file when I purchased the package). She sent me away so they could figure it out. This was about three weeks before the wedding. If I had not gone in proactively, I wonder if they even would have tried to schedule it. Wedding: The ladies that did our hair and makeup did a great job and were really fun! Alyssa did my hair and Rachel did my makeup. Mya and another girl whose name I can't remember were our other hair and makeup stylists. I was relieved that everything worked out for the day-of after the issues leading up to it. Post-wedding issues with payment: I kept a spreadsheet of the services all of my bridesmaids received so I could have an accurate amount to Venmo request for after the wedding. The total amount of our services did not match what I was charged. I asked them to check the math and get back to me because it appeared that I had overpaid (not by much, but I wanted to make sure everything was accurate). See our communication on this issue below... 1/31: I called and asked for an itemized receipt. They emailed it to me. I compared it to my spreadsheet and it did not match. I sent my spreadsheet to them asking that they double check the math and get back to me. 2/1: I missed Ey'Leonna's call because I was in class. I called back during their opening hours the same day and got their voicemail. I emailed her letting her know I called and would be free the rest of the night to discuss. 2/8: I had not received any update for a week, so I called and spoke to Rachel. She took a look at it for me but wanted to run it by Ey'Leonna before confirming anything since she had been handling it. 2/9: Ey'Leonna calls and says the only thing she can think of is that they didn't charge us for 4 lash services. I asked, in that case, why I would be the one that was overcharged? She said she didn't know and would need to do the math. I told her I felt frustrated that I've been waiting 9 days for them to "do the math" and I'm confused why I don't just have an answer at this point. She seemingly got upset with me because her voice raised/sped up and she said she had personal things going on and was out of office. She explained that she is the one accountable for the payments, so it was not being handled while she was out. I apologized for the personal things she is dealing with and wished her well. I explained that this is not meant to be a personal attack, it's just business and I would appreciate an answer. She said she would do the math again to figure out what's going on. 2/9: Ey'Leonna calls back and says Alyssa figured out the issue and would be better at explaining it to me. Alyssa explained that the bridal package gratuity was not factored-in on my spreadsheet, which would have been $90. The $90 minus the lashes they missed charging us for came out to the difference in cost. I offered that they charge my card for the difference and they declined. Ey'Leonna apologized for not being able to figure it out. Issues with communication: Communication was not great via phone or email. I had to follow up many times to get answers for things. If you're a bride that is not super proactive or doesn't want to be, I feel like Posh KC is not the right choice because they seem to not be on top of things. I would hope the reasoning is just because they are disorganized and not that they are trying to scam people out of what they paid for. read more

I came in with a bridal party and they served our group of 12 ladies in 3 hours. My make up artist asked me a few questions about what I wanted, but then I just let her have full reign. I had a wonderful experience at Posh KC. The store is clean, decorated to welcome the pampered girlie girl and the staff is very welcoming. I went with the "quickie" service. It's $25 for a curling/styling service. There isn't a washing included, but I'd say for the price it was an absolute steal. Alyssa did a wonderful job on my hair. She made beautiful cascade curls, added a braid on one side and threw in enough hairspray to contain the do until the evening. In addition to the fantastic job she did on my hair, she offered me a warm tea during the service. A nice touch. She was also very sweet and genuine. Beware!! Posh KC has declined in quality of service over the last year. We utilized their services in June 2023 and all went very well. We decided to move forward with their services again for my second DIL and her wedding party. The bride, MOB and myself, MOG went for our trials a few weeks ago. What a disaster! The stylist that was scheduled to do our hair that day was not able to do our hair for unknown reason. Instead of rescheduling our appointments they placed us with a stylist that proceeded to tell us during our entire appointment time that she is not comfortable with updos and they should have never had her step in for the other stylist. Needless to say all of us had hair styles that were NOT what we asked for. I did try to call Posh on Monday but from previous experiences I know that they DO NOT answer their phone so I emailed them. The manager did call me back right away but just made excuses as to why this happened. In addition, she did refund us for our hair services. The bride has decided to NOT move forward with Posh due to the fact that she is not confident in their abilities and lack of customer services. Now we are left to do our own hair on the wedding day as all other salons are booked for the day of the wedding. Absolutely shameful way to run a business!! read more

Yesterday was my birthday so I booked hair and makeup at Posh. I've been before and had lovely experiences. Lauren did an absolutely fabulous job. However the other women in the salon made my experience less than desirable. It began when Lauren was looking all over for a hot iron. The manager on duty didn't try to help her. I was the only client in the salon at the time. Later on another presumed manager came in with her infant twins. She was very loud and her use of profane language was not the vibe. The babies were loud and as a mom I completely empathize but as a paying client who wanted a relaxing experience, this was not it. The two managers were loudly discussing "fcking" up and overbooking a client on Saturday 3/11 at 11:30. They discussed a text message to this person and settled on saying that there was an "emergency" that caused the rescheduling. They also spent a lot of time loudly discussing what the discount they should offer for rebooking would be, settling on 15%. Then the mom took out takeout and began eating it on the counter right in front of me. Again, Lauren was professional and lovely, but these other two were completely unprofessional and ruined the relaxing and fun vibe I was hoping for. read more

To be fair, we are okay with the hair outcome. Just terribly disappointed with the experience. Since she was very young, she has talked about going here to get her hair done for her senior photos. We were not welcomed and when it was my daughter's turn, all we (we were the only two waiting) got was "Who ever is getting their hair done, I can do it." As she sat in the chair, there was a brief chat about what she wanted and then all the stylist just chatted amongst themselves loudly but never included my daughter or I. It was like we were invisible. Very awkward and disappointing for a moment she had waited 4 years for. Ashley-you did hear of my dissatisfaction,day of, when you guys finally showed up. I was not the bride, Emilie Farris/Anderson Club 1000, June of 2016,was. So it really wasn't my place to post a public complaint just in case she was going to face backlash from it. I was the one who personally called asking where your stylists were, and was told they were parking...only to have them not show up until 45 min later. I was straight up lied to. You guys were already mostly paid, all you had to do was show up on time, and that wasn't done. The ball was majorly dropped.the picture speaks for itself at how bad my hair looked. The braid is uneven and falling down,curls are not matching. I could be petty and post others but I won't. You ran late, tried to do all 8 or 9 of our hair in a short time frame and the results speak for themselves. And the fact that I had to do my own makeup because you guys ran late, after it was already paid for...I am so lucky I brought my own makeup. That wouldve been completely ruined had I not thought ahead and brought backup. There was simply no time to do mine from your end. I ended up doing my mom's makeup too, but I'm not sure if she was in the official line-up or not. Still no real explanation as to why anyone was late, your shop is less than a half mile from the venue. And no explanation as to why the stylist who did the mother of the bride's trial run wasn't there...That's the whole reason you pay for a trial, to get a look and build trust with THAT specific stylist. Shouldn't matter if this is 2 years later or not, we are all upset looking back because we look terrible and a whole experience was ruined for us as a group. I don't think you're understanding that. We were supposed to feel pampered and calm...And it ended up being a disaster So, this review has sat in my draft for over 2 years. Finally posting it because I am SO UPSET every time I look at pics from my brothers wedding. ALL of our hair is terrible and falling down from updos or braids. I had clip ins, brand new I brought to the appt. I said I wasn't sure if the colour matched, if it didn't match, do not use them. My stylist claimed they matched perfectly...Uh huh, well....just look at the pic. Half my hair curled, the other half didn't. Had to do my own makeup, even though it had been prepaid they would do it. They were so late and we were so rushed. 2 years later it's really sad looking back on pics and seeing what a mess all of us bridesmaids were because of Posh K C ... Review from 2016... Absolutely unacceptable. They were booked for hair and makeup for my sister and laws wedding. 4 ladies were booked. Only 2 of them showed up...45 minutes late! By the time they got set up and ready to go, another 20+ min had passed. One of the 2 set up, the other stood and text on her phone for 10 min. So started over an hour and 15 min late. The other 2 ladies showed up another 20-30 min after that. All of us were extremely rushed. Hair and makeup for a wedding should be nice and relaxing and all of us were stressed and on edge. I went ahead and did my own makeup because there was no way they had to do it. The mother of the bride had a trial run with a specific girl, was told she would be doing it for her day of, but she wasn't! So why on earth did she pay for a trial to get it a certain way and the girl who knew what it was supposed to be didn't show up?! The girl who did my hair said "we had a bunch of weddings to do today." Uhhh what? Why are you booking so many in one day?! They can not do fake eyelashes at all. I brought a new pair but forgot my glue at home. Ran over to just have my lashes applied. They were cut way too short on both eyes so I will not be able to use them again. No ones hair lasted past the 20 min ceremony. Braids and curls fell quickly. Could see the Bobby pins in everyone's hair. I had clip ins put in,the curl held well but they were not clipped in properly. They were poking through my hair and easily seen. I had a braid on one side and a twist on the other-both fell out before the reception started. Ashley did show up and apologise and offer to take $100 off of the total. Not enough. Came here to get my hair blown out for a night out in Kansas City. The blowout cost about 35 dollars and the girl who did my hair was very very sweet. My hair was big (which is what I asked for), but alas the curls did not stay as promised. None of this was her fault, my hair really won't hold a curl even if you pay it money. The place is brand new, and beautiful inside. I really liked the decor, with motivational phrases written in gold lettering. Too cute. Much different than the blowout factories of NYC. Love this place! I've had a membership here for more than a year now and it's been wonderful. It really doesn't matter who does my hair, the women all do a great job. This blow dry bar is the best in town, in my opinion, and for the best price. Great customer service, as they are flexible if I need to change my appointment.
