Tipsy Putt made our first night in South Lake Tahoe an absolute blast! We stumbled across it while…read morewalking by, and it just happened to be Trivia Night with DJ Trivia hosted by Sierra Nevada Tom. As soon as we walked in, it was clear there was plenty to do. Whether you want to stay busy or just kick back and watch a game, they've got you covered. There's a fun mini golf course with obstacle-style holes, cornhole, other interactive games, tons of big-screen TVs showing sports, plenty of high-top tables, a long bar, and even outdoor seating. We decided to grab a couple seats at the bar. We were first greeted by Kelly, who was incredibly friendly, had a great smile, and genuinely seemed happy to take care of us. Then Ben took over, and he was awesome. Super personable, easy to joke around with, and the kind of bartender who keeps interacting with guests even when he's busy. The staff alone is a reason we'd come back. Trivia isn't usually my thing, but we decided to join in anyway. It's free, energetic, and a lot of fun. There were probably around 25 teams playing, and Tom did a great job keeping the energy up all night. The questions start out pretty easy to build your confidence, then get progressively tougher. It ended up being a great time and the perfect way to spend our first night in Tahoe.

We split the steak, carrots, and fingerling potatoes with an amazing sauce! There was enough for us to split it into two. The wine was amazing from local wineries, the waitress was sweet and friendly and had grear service. Everyone was dressed super nice & when we asked for recommendations of wine with our dinner, they had a great pairing. We wish we could've checked outside, but there was a wedding going on. We will definitely be back to check out the outside area and I definitely recommend!!

Unique restaurant in a historic area that serves up traditional American fare. The main seating…read morearea is actually downstairs - there is one room that my friend calls the "cave" room, it opens up to an actual mine that was used. So if you like those Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes, then you would like sitting next to the mine for sure. It's roped off but you can hear the water dripping and it is naturally cool. The structure was originally built as a hotel in 1853 and has been well preserved. I ordered their Smith Flat House salad ($10) and the Jambalaya Risotto ($34) which consisted of Cajun-marinated prawns, lobster meat, Andouille sausage, grilled sweet corn with saffron chicken risotto. Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd recommend a glass of red from Starfield (winery up the road).

Came here on a Friday night around 7 pm to celebrate a friend's birthday with a girls' dinner, and…read moreit ended up being such a perfect choice. Even though they do not take reservations, we were seated pretty quickly, which was a pleasant surprise for a busy Friday evening. The restaurant itself is adorable and feels like a charming little house that has been transformed into an intimate Italian spot. There is an open kitchen, which adds to the experience, and the space strikes a really nice balance between elevated and genuinely warm. It feels like true dining in the heart of Reno, thoughtful and cozy without feeling pretentious. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and honestly loved everything. The pickled seasonal vegetables were bright and refreshing and a great way to start the meal. The meatballs were tender and comforting, the suppli were crispy and rich, and the fried seafood was light and well executed without being greasy. We also shared the bruschetta, which was simple, fresh, and nicely balanced. For mains, we had the gnocchi al pesto and the rigatoni with beef ragu. The gnocchi was soft and pillowy with a vibrant, fresh pesto, and the beef ragu was deeply flavorful and hearty without being heavy. Both dishes felt well thought out and satisfying. We ended the night with the crème brûlée, which was the perfect birthday dessert. The custard was creamy with a beautifully caramelized top and just the right amount of sweetness. What really stood out was how the meal encouraged you to slow down and enjoy the moment. This is the kind of place where you take your time, engage in conversation, and savor each course. There is also a really cute outdoor area, and I can already tell it will be an amazing spot in the summer. Overall, this was a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. Great food, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and an experience that felt special from start to finish. I cannot wait to come back.

A charming space that's conveniently located for me that I wanted to like. Service was good but…read moreslightly inattentive for the price point. Sadly the food was inconsistent and definitely disappointing for the price. As a side note, in multiple visits I've found the majority of their plates and serving dishes to be chipped, cracked, or have glaze that's missing in spots. So much so that I have to wonder if it's an intentional design choice. I always thought plates like that were considered unsanitary, but maybe standards have changed since I took food safety training.

The bar is impressive and a great way to be greeted. There is seating available if you want to grab a bite to eat while you indulge in a handcrafted cocktail. The entrance leads to an amazing outdoor area with a courtyard, lots of seating and more bar areas. There is an upstairs area that has views of Sonora, but also overlooks the outdoor area which is great for people watching. The Armory is family and dog friendly and it was great to see families and their fur babies enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. The menu has great appetizers to share, salads and bowls, tacos, sandwiches, and satisfying pastas + a delicious short rib plate. The drink menu is extensive - they have an impressive variety of barrel-aged bourbons, Irish whiskeys, scotch, rye, tequila, and mezcal and quite the selection of beers on tap, in bottles, and in cans. The wine list will have something for everyone. And the cocktails all looked amazing! We had the smoked pork nachos, ahi poke bowl, and the Rodeo Burger. Everything was tasty and came out quickly. The Armory is a must try!
