I love Posh Pooch and use the self serve dog wash quite often. It was a happy day when I found out that they were back open during Covid but were not buying into the overzealous frenzy of those that are up on their soapboxes screeching that people who don't wear a mask are selfish and are killing everyone. I walked in without a mask and it was ok! I wasn't told to leave!! Thank you so much for that, Posh Pooch. It felt like the light days BC (before Covid). My dog Dolly loves getting a bath at Posh Pooch too. They give you shampoo, conditioner, face cleanser, a variety of brushes, cotton balls to clean ears, nice fluffy towels and even a dryer, which is heaven for a Labrador retriever, with her three coats. read more

I wanted to write this review a while back, but was too upset and did not want to post a scathing review until I got my emotions in check. Until just several weeks ago, I was a 10 year loyal customer of Posh Pooch for my large Golden Doodle. For years, we faithfully had recurring appointments every six weeks to keep his fur from matting, making it easier for the groomer and dog. Melissa (the previous owner) did an outstanding job grooming and running the business. She was welcoming and friendly and had only the best interest of your pet in mind, thus price increases were not an issue and we gladly paid for the excellent care we received. Unfortunately, Melissa recently sold the business and and the new owner obviously does not value the loyal customers base who has been with Posh from the start. A few weeks ago, Kevin (Manager at Posh) called me to state our dog "no longer fit their new business plan" as it took too much time to groom him or it took two groomers to get the job done and thus they were cancelling our remaining appointments for the year. I understand businesses are having trouble keeping employees these days, but to get rid of a long standing customer knowing other grooming businesses are booked months in advance is unacceptable. I told Kevin I didn't understand and needed to keep our appointments and he responded, "Why would you want to bring your dog to a place where he wouldn't get the best care" and "they can try to refer him out". He also suggested we could take him to our vet for grooming. Unfortunately, we still cannot find a standing groomer, unsuccessfully tried a mobile groomer and our dog is now matted and is in desperate need of grooming services. Makes me furious Posh has put us in this position in the last year(s) of our dog's life. Lastly, for those current customers of Posh, our dog was always extremely thirsty after we picked him up. Literally would go right to his water bowl and empty it when we got home. Maybe the drying process was too warm...IDK but it was definitely noticeable. I also politely needed to reminded the groomer at drop off not to get water in his ears cause because we had several ear issues (and vet bills) after appointments. After 10 years and being loyal to Melissa and Posh Pooch, we will be taking our business elsewhere. Our pups are known for their long hair breed and the current groomer at Posh should NOT be grooming long hair breeds AT ALL! This all started when one of our 3 pups passed after 15 1/2 years with us. We reached out to Posh stating our one of two dogs, who had their every three week standing appointment together, had passed and that they should move the appointment to be for only one pup now. But low and behold they canceled the appointment COMPLETELY and we didn't know until we showed up with our 14 year old pup! In asking for an appointment back, there was no apology and no working to get the appointment set, instead they just simply said a basic oops and there is a wait list....which all of this was their fault! Since then, we did get one appointment but it has been a NIGHTMARE! Our dogs have been through a plethora of issues with the one groomer on staff and Kevin, the manager, has been unkind and outright rude. Our dogs remain matted and/or cut so short they come home scared, stressed, and vomiting. We have actually been threatened that they will refuse service if finding any mats on our pups. Last I checked the reason we go to the groomer and pay the now raised $60 fees is to get groomed, washed, combed out, etc. We live at the BEACH!!! It's so sad when we have been so loyal and now as of today they fired us for all of their mistakes and rudeness. They claim to have waitlists, but they only have 1 groomer. In fact, they let us know they will be training their washers to become dog groomers, did they open a school in the back that we didn't know about? We had so hoped that with Melissa transitioning out things would remain the same, but with Kevin on board it's reminiscent of Gru's Minion, Kevin, not caring, rude, and awkward. So long Posh....we will go to where our pups are wanted. read more

I have been coming to posh pooch for 4 years now with my mini bernedoodle Magnolia ! Recently the new owners took over and I was a little nervous becuase we loved the previous owner. So far everything has been great! Love the little changes there making and the new groomer Alejandra was wonderful with my Magnolia girl ! She looked the best she has ever looked ! Our dogs had (yet another) encounter with a skunk, and of the three companies we reached out to, one said we were out of their service area, and one has yet to respond (it's been 4 hours). Posh Pooch reached out within 15 minutes of my request & were incredibly helpful. Unfortunately they were totally booked for today but let us know we could use the self-service tub & that they would provide an odor-reducing shampoo, towels, and blow dryer; an offer we gladly accepted. The single tub is available on a first-come, first-serve basis so there was a bit of a wait as it was in use when we arrived. This gave us time to look around the very clean shop, and observe the dogs currently being groomed. The workers were both gentle and efficient while working on them, and you could tell they genuinely cared about the well-being of their furry clients. A couple of return-customers dropped off dogs while we were there (always a good sign), and the groomers remembered the names of the people AND the dogs, and double-checked with one of the clients to confirm they wanted the usual bath-and-haircut since the dog's hair hadn't grown out much apparently since their last visit. Both dogs were very excited & happy to see the groomers (who gave them lots of pets) which shows that they do not associate either the people or the place with any sort of anxiety or trauma. When it was our turn for the tub, we were given two big bottles of the odor-reducing shampoo with instructions on how to use it, two good-sized towels, and a little container of cotton balls with a bit of cleaning solution on them for the dogs' ears. We have one small & one medium dog, and both were able to fit in the tub at the same time. (The dog that was in before ours was *very* large, and still fit comfortably in it.) The prices here are amazingly good, and they provide a variety of services (bathing, nail trim, haircuts, anal gland expression, etc). There are also a few items for sale such as treats, canned food, and collars. This is definitely going to be our go-to place for the dogs' grooming needs. read more

We have been using Posh Pooch for all our dogs since they opened years ago in Peter's Landing. We love the care they take with our pets baths, their flexibility with drop offs and pickups and their terrific attitudes. Recently they underwent an ownership change and we were a bit concerned things wouldn't be the same. Well, they are just as good, and communication and service is even better! We took our Labrador and Golden Retriever for over a decade, when our Lab passed there was a break of a couple of months before we adopted our newest best friend. Kevin worked to get our new Bernedoodle, Buddy, into the busy appointment schedule for bathing, and now he gets routine grooming with Posh Pooch. Recently, we were going through a health crisis with a family member and I guess I didn't brush Buddy out as thoroughly as I thought. He had some mats and probably needed to be shaved but the staff took pity on me and spent the extra time to get him brushed out and avoid shaving. It meant so much to us that he looked beautiful for our gathering at Thanksgiving - we had family visiting from Australia for their first American Thanksgiving and Buddy was a part of all the festivities. I would not have anyone, except for Melissa the owner to groom her. when Melissa turned in her grooming cape and sold the business to stay home with her family recently... I was really concerned that it would not be the same but I got a call from the manager Kevin asking if I needed any service, and inviting me in with a promotional special so I decided to give the new ownership a try with my two newly adopted dogs who are skittish and don't like being groomed. Kevin booked me with the two most senior groomers Cristina and Lynda worked on my dogs, Frankenstein, and Honey together. These two know what they are doing!! They were patient, calm and confident with my dogs and they did an incredible job getting the matts out of them and doing an absolutely perfect and professional of grooming them... And amazingly... the next time I took my dogs in I expected they would try to turn around and go back out once they realize where they were, but not at all! That really sealed the deal for me. Ive been taking my dog to posh pooch since they opened in seal beach. Always had the best experiences and the customer service was always fantastic. They took care of the dogs so well. I never leave reviews, but this is the second time I've had my dogs haircut be a complete disaster. She wasn't even dry when I picked her up. Some areas were uneven, some areas not even cut at all. To have a price increase, but a decrease in quality is really unfortunate. Very disappointing to see the amount of care that posh pooch once had take such a decline after the ownership change. When I was given my dog she was jumping everywhere and was handed to me through the window. I carried her the entire time I was paying and the cut seemed fine at the time. I didn't get a good look because she was in my arms and I didn't think it could have possibly been as bad as it was, as I have been getting her groomed here for the past 4 years. I didn't see how bad it was till she (a white fluffy dog) was sitting in the passenger seat of my black car. I immediately called about five min after leaving while still in the car once I got a good look at her and voiced my dissatisfaction. As for getting it corrected, not all of us are able to set aside another 3-4 hours to bring our dogs in. And the fact that you've had to correct so many haircuts is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Maybe if they were being done the first time correctly you wouldn't be needing to increases prices so much to make up for the wasted time giving the same dogs multiple hair cuts. I also sent in photos of how crooked she was. Now that it's been a few weeks it looks even worse. If you'd like I can post before and after pictures as well as pictures from her previous good hair cuts given by the old groomers. read more

We are more than happy with Posh Pooch, and Groomer Christine. Their entire team cared for Zola, our Giant Schnauzer/ standard Poodle. When Zola was stressed, they cared for her with CBD. Then gave her time for a rest, when she could no longer stand.( Zola was a service dog who pulled a cart) Christine got on the floor, with scissors, groomed her face, legs, and paws, while our giant dog rest her head in Christine's lap!
