I don't like the fact that the volunteers perform an invasive home visit to judge your "worthiness". The Wags to Whiskers office is super run down and they have no right to judge others. We were regular customers with our two dogs before COVID. Although we haven't had a dog since then, I've continued to recommend Wags to Whiskers to friends. Today, we took my husband's dog in, and I was unhappy at how run down the facility is. It needs new flooring, a fresh coat of paint, and a remodel of the worn out waiting area. Staff was very cooperative, friendly, and the service price was competitive. B/c the walls, floors and counters look so worn, it appears dirty and maybe isn't. I think I'll take my business elsewhere. So sad that this shop has been so neglected. read more

I took my goldendoodle here yesterday and had the best experience. She's come from a kind of difficult situation, my husband and I are not well versed in doodles and had no intention of ever owning one because of all the maintenance. It took a few weeks for her to trust us and actually let us brush her so the state of her fur was a bit of a hot mess by the time I got her into a groomer's. The groomer was so so so nice and so patient with Moose. I was worried about leaving her there and how she would react, but it really felt like I was leaving her in good hands. Moose also didn't seem too traumatized when I picked her up and has been being extra loving and playful, maybe because she can actually see without all the fur in her eyes Everyone I talked to was really so friendly and helpful. I was concerned about being judged for what a mess Moose was, but everyone seemed understanding of the situation. I'm so appreciative of how well Moose was taken care of and how much better she's looking, and probably feeling. We have two other dogs that we don't groom quite as frequently, we usually give them baths and brush them ourselves, but we'll definitely be bringing them here when they need some extra pampering. read more

ATTENTION CAT OWNERS If you have feline friends you know that giving them a bath and trimming their claws can sometimes be a nightmare. For reference, the last time I tried to trim my cats nails myself, he got so scared he pooped.on.my.new.shirt. needless to say I was not looking forward to trying again. Then the cats got fleas and I was dreading trying to bathe them. I think I bought 6 different products over the span of 4 months to rid them of fleas, but all the research I read always went back to "a full wet bath" was needed to completely rid the infestation. I tried calling a few groomers that either A)don't take cats B)didn't want animals with fleas in their shop C) required full pet vaccinations (still working on this with the kittens) And here in this story when I discover the best thing to happen to me when it comes to my cats grooming. Setting an appointment was so easy, I told them over the phone about my 1 cat, 2 kittens needing a full flea bath and nail trim and they were able to take me the same day! When I got there I filled out a form about my pets, and their local vet (I really liked that they think ahead for emergencies). I was worried about leaving my pets somewhere else than home for the first time but the staff was very friendly, kind, and compassionate. This put me at ease. Let me tell you about how I got my 3 cats after, they were complete angelic balls of fluff. So happy, so calm, so fluffy and clean!!! I expected angry gremlins when I returned but they were so happy and most importantly felt safe. I am very particular about who, grooms my highly trained guide dog. Not all groomers are equal. But I have found one of the most friendliest, accommodating, professional, groomers in wags to whiskers, and Colina. All of the groomers, staff members, were so friendly, and answered all of my questions. I requested that Merlin not be placed in a cage dryer. They had absolutely no problem drying him by hand to make sure that he didn't experience a lot of stress being placed in a cage dryer. They provided excellent service, made sure that he received the appropriate type of bath for his itchy skin. They brushed his teeth, trimmed his nails, and expressed his anal glands. They are not very expensive either. Out of all of the groomers I have been to over the years, I have finally found one that I feel comfortable with. They will always get my business. read more

I've tried the rest and found the Best - Wags to Whiskers. Leo the cat loves Melissa. She has been taking such good care of him that when I open the cat carrier, he doesn't want to see me, he leaps into Melissa's arms and hugs her even though he knows he is about to get a bath which most cats deplore. I am in the process of re-homing Leo. Melissa took the time to listen to my concerns and gave me some solid tips on re-homing and how to minimize Leo's distress. She also patiently explained how to rid Leo and my house of a major flea issue, and it worked! Jasmine worked the schedule to accommodate an extended stay and late pick-up while I flea bombed and cleaned the house. These folks are the Best! P.S. - Don't pay attention to the one and two star reviews complaining about appointment rescheduling and availability in the middle of a Worldwide Pandemic. Frankly, I hate to review this place because I don't need anymore competition for an appointment. My God, when did booking a dog grooming appointment get so hard? I've been here before with other pets and generally had a good experience. I came back recently with a new rescue girl I adopted and Melissa hooked her up! But this 2nd time when they called the day before to have my one dog groomed was completely unacceptable. THEY COULDN'T "FIT ME IN" UNTIL JULY 5TH. MORE THAN A MONTH FROM THE ORIGINAL JUNE 3RD DATE. After posting this, Wags to Whiskers owner Eric had the groomers who mistreated/neglected our dog send us an apology letter and a discount on our next wash. Then he messaged me on here. I appreciate that the owner stepped up to the plate and took responsibility for them. While this could possibly convince me to bring my dog back in, the abuser Steve is still "grooming" there. He's the reason we left Soggy Dog (with the previous owners). Soggy Dog was our grooming spot for quickness, and WTW was for her spa treatment every few months. Our dog is emotionally damaged because of him. Steve is a horrible groomer and doesn't treat your fur children with love and care. If your dog EVER walks out depressed or doesn't want to return to this place, you'll know why. If the woman groomer on the apology card is who attempted to paint her nails, I'd suggest giving her better training. It is not that hard to paint a middle-aged labrador guide dog's nails. The old groomers they had always knew what they were doing. They used to be great at nail art. read more

Never go back to Wag To Whiskers again! The groomer there cut my Tanya's left ear. Just wonder if they are professional. My daughter and I took Tanya (Golden Retriever) and Sasha (German Shepherd Mixed) in on Thursday 10/3/13. Sasha refused taking their service. Lucky her! Tanya is such a sweetheart. She trusted people but not anymore from this bad experience. Yeah! Dog can not tell the owner what was going on in the back behind the door. A couple of days later which was Saturday evening, I found three wounds behind her floppy ear and was already infected. This is so wrong. If it was an accident, I expect them to be honest with me so that I could have taken care of my beloved dog properly from day one but no I found out a couple of days later. That got me really upset. I could not get in touch with anyone in the store until Tuesday because they are closed on Sunday and Monday. How would they feel if it happened to theirs? Who regulates the grooming business? We have been using Wags to Whiskers on and off for well over 10 years and I will say the staff at this shop is excellent and the work they do, exemplary. Our current pup, Jasper, that we take to Wags is a terrier mix that we rescued from LA County Downey shelter. I don't think he'd ever been groomed in his approximate three years of living on the streets. Once his neutering site was healed, we took him to Wags. We hadn't used Wags in a few years because our Chow Chow who was a regular client had passed away some years ago and we did not have a dog that required grooming. On our Jasper's first visit for grooming, he was terrified. He was a mess. He had matted hair that was overgrown. He was assigned to groomer Liz, who did an excellent job with this first haircut despite Jasper's fear. Fast forward 2-1/2 years later, Liz still does Jasper's hair and he actually likes going to see her. The Wags staff treats him like a prince and Liz's work is excellent. Jasper is not at all apprehensive about going to Wags now. I have recommended Wags to other friends and they agree the service and work is excellent. I also want to give a compliment to the staff who coordinate and book appointments. They always call the day before to remind you of the appointment.
