I was lucky to get a last minute appointment this past Saturday with Anna. Upon arrival, I had a very comfortable feeling. The salon had a clean, boho vibe and I love the color scheme. It's the same as my house! Anna was finishing up a haircut on a young man. I tried to be inconspicuous, but I watched and listened carefully to her asking him his thoughts. She stopped and allowed him to check every section. That impressed me because you get a little nervous meeting a hairstylist for the first time. Next, it was on to me. I was contemplating for months letting my gray roots grow out to (becoming grayage) the point where I was literally depressed. I didn't like it at all because I really wasn't ready for "that look". So Anna sat me down and we chatted about my current blonde shade, my darker tones underneath and what I envisioned looking like at the end of my appointment. She meticulously checked my (previous) cut and fixed a few disconnected sections. She suggested that my roots be the same color as my darker tone and then would add a few low lights to break up the blonde for some dimension. We chatted throughout the entire appointment and unbeknownst to us, we have so many connections- as if something in the (h)air brought us together. Her blowout was literally the best one I've ever had. Well, feeling beautiful is an understatement!! She did exactly what I wanted, and I walked out feeling more confident than I ever have leaving a salon. She is a beautiful, young, talented, new stylist, but her heart, soul and expertise makes you think she's been doing hair professionally for years!! I've been trying find a salon in town instead of driving 20-30 min. away or back to Boston. I thought long and hard before I posted this review because I'd hate to ruin a salon's stellar review. And, FYI, I've had haircuts I don't love this past year by different salons/stylists but haven't posted reviews because a) I asked for it or b) it didn't work out between me and stylist. It was very easy to get an appt via FB messenger. The salon is small and clean with a boutique-y vibe. I asked for a choppy bob but it was heavy, chunky layer on one side with thin long layer under it all. l was offered a complimentary fix a few days later which was nice but to even out the layers, I had more cut off. It's now not the intended look. Yes, bulk was taken off but it's not the bob it was. I felt that a longer consult may have prevented this. I was in-and-out so quickly both times. There was no precision to the cuts. Of course, it totally hearsay but I've had a friend (non-Yelper and no online presence) mention she isn't entirely thrilled with her cut. Same problem. The thick layers not entirely blended in; you can see the demarcation of each layer. read more

As a makeup enthusiast, I was a bit undecided if I was going to have my makeup done for my wedding or do it myself. I decided to do a trial with Posh Salon since my bridesmaids would need hair and makeup anyway and Posh was highly recommended to me by our wedding planner. Not only are Brittany and Amanda extremely talented, but also super professional and just plain FUN to hang out with while they work! Brittany's makeup for my wedding day was absolutely flawless and did not budge, despite extreme downpours the day of! My makeup looked fresh and dewy well into the night. Brittany has the ability to listen to her client's concerns and suggestions and turn them into pure perfection! My sister just got married last year and wished she knew about Posh Salon for her own wedding, because she loved her hair for my wedding more than her own! Amanda listened to her concerns about her hair and suggested extensions which made all the difference for her! Not only that, Amanda went the extra mile and selected them for her when my sister felt overwhelmed by the color matching process. I've never seen any of my bridesmaids look more gorgeous than they did that day - one of my most finicky girls said it was the best makeup she'd ever gotten done! Whats better then going to get your hair done at Posh Salon. Getting it done by my daughter , Brittany. Brittany is always professional and I always feel great when I leave. Sometimes I feel tempted to do something different, and she is very honest whether it will be good or not . I recommend Posh , like it's FAMILY . Finding a hair salon team that was willing to work on site and on a Sunday was quite a challenge, but we lucked out when we found the Posh Hair Salon team located in Niantic, CT. Not only did they handle the challenge of a large bridal party, but they did it with excellence. Everyone's hair looked amazing, one of the bridesmaids even commenting how she wish they could have done her hair for her prom which was the night before because it looked so good. They were able to stick to a tight schedule and everyone was finished and ready to go on time. They were so nice, all the girls loved them. read more

I have been disappointed with my high priced hair coloring in NYC. Posh was recommended by someone I met here in Niantic who had a very nice cut and highlights. Amanda and Brittany did an AMAZING job with my and my wedding party's hair and makeup! Best of all, the time frame they give you is the actual time frame! Brittany came to Saybrook Point Inn and did our hair and makeup and it was fabulous. We all got dozens of compliments and the pictures were amazing. I go to Posh for my regular cut and color appointments but I also hired Posh for my wedding as well! To start, Amanda and Brittany are both professional, polished and extremely talented! Amanda did updos for my bridal party and she also made my mother feel like a queen with a blow out and curls! Brittany gave me a gorgeous updo and flawless make up. As the bride, the compliments are obviously expected, however people who only saw me in photos even complimented my hair and make up, making it a point to ask who did it for me! Amanda & Brittany made the primping process so much fun for me & my girls and they truly made the whole morning a memorable experience. My wedding party and I had both our hair and makeup done by Amanda and Renee. They both did a fabulous job. Amanda made my hair look exactly like the photo I had showed her.
