To say I am disappointed with the service at this establishment is an understatement. After arriving for happy hour well before 6:00 and being seated outside, the server did not come outside to take our orders and would not allow us to take advantage of the deals. Not only did she cause us to not order drinks during happy hour, but she completely dropped a tray of drinks on one of the people at our table. She did not apologize once, nor did she help to clean off the table. After spending the next 20 minutes helping our friend clean herself off in the bathroom, we asked for at least one of the drinks to be taken off of our friend's tab since she was now wearing 5 cocktails. The server was only willing to give a 10% discount for 2 of the drinks. She claimed that she only spilled 2, but it was crystal clear they all spilled because the drink garnishes were all on the ground. Our waitress was truly one of the rudest servers I have ever had, and seemed to care more about being on her phone and vaping than doing her job. Truly disgusting. I have been to the Post before and had a great experience, however, this "server" needs to be held responsible. read more

I love coming here whenever I go downtown. I love the atmosphere and the selection of hand crafted cocktails. They're always so good when they have their specials, you can't go wrong! First off let me be clear this is NOT a restaurant it's a bar that has a limited food menu that comes from a kitchen across the street. We unfortunately didn't know that and waited an hour to get our food and the place was not busy. They had 7 staff members standing around and we were the only ones in the place who ordered food. The best bar I've been to in Mobile, hands down, is POST. The atmosphere was vibing, the drinks were delicious and strong, and the outdoor patio was our favorite area to enjoy our cocktails (before the notorious South Alabama climate sent us scurrying inside from the rain). A couple friends and I came here to celebrate finishing a term of nursing school, and POST was the easiest and best decision for celebratory drinks. Depending on taste preferences, I recommend every drink we tried. They were out of the ingredients for Orange Blossom, so I look forward to coming back soon to give that one a shot (no pun intended), but every drink we ordered was really good. Honestly, I've been stalking POST-- waiting anxiously for them to open! And last night, the hubs and I popped in for a pre- dinner cocktail! The masses were out, but the staff handled the crowd well and we didn't have much of a wait. The space is beautiful! Modern and still has that freshly dried paint smell! (Love it!) I also enjoyed the cute and cozy sitting area in the back as it gives more of a posh feel than the main bar area. Same bar, two different dynamics! The prices and drinks are good also! Hubs' old fashioned was up to par and I enjoyed my Mailman's Kid! They also have a great selection of wines and bites! I'll be back soon to try the avocado toast and beignets. I set about to write this review because there weren't many food photos but later a bizarre thing happened so now it's in the story. I met my friend 6:30 on a Wednesday, place was half full, good energy level. My cosmo was perfect and ice cold all 3 times. My friend ordered a gluten free caprese flatbread and I was talked out of the crab cakes and we got a small charcuterie board. Great decision!! Though a small footprint it was packed with goodies beyond the meat and cheese, such as nuts, berries, honey, jam, water crackers. We both noshed throughout the drinks. But when the flat bread arrived, it was in a brown takeout box and the server just set it on the corner of the table. Did she ask for it to go? No. My friend explained it's actually cooked at the pizza place across the street. I really have no problem with that, but it should be served on a plate like anything else on the menu. I felt awkward asking for a slice because it was now like Her food, that she would take home. If I could give a 0 I would. Waitress dropped an entire tray (5+) of drinks on me, didn't offer an apology and dismissed our table for over 30 minutes. I had to go inside to order another drink. I am never one to complain but asked the bartender if there was anyway I could get at least one of my drinks taken off of my tab or discounted because of the spill. I was blamed for the accident and was offered no compensation. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for some percent off when I was soaked in sticky, sugary drinks. When I confronted the waitress, she was extremely rude and argued with me about the encounter. I asked to speak with the manager just to address the situation and she blamed me for knocking over the drinks when that was not the case. They refused to give any kind of discount or compensation for the spilt drinks and had horrible attitudes towards my entire table. The waitress that spilt the drinks dismissed our table for over 30 minutes and stood at the bar hitting her vape rather than doing her job. She argued with me about how many drinks she spilt while the garnishes were on the floor below me. I showed pictures to the manager and asked her to feel my clothes when she didn't believe me. The waitress never told her manager about the incident and tried to ignore it. She returned to our table, was dismissive and extremely rude. This spot is the right spot for downtown Mobile. It's not a normal dirty bar. It has a degree of class but not in a elite manner but in a clean, casual and nice presentation. The staff is super helpful and creates some of the specialty drinks themselves. The outdoor back patio is a perfect little spot to hang on a nice evening. The decor inside is clean, straight lined furniture, has a small room off the side with more lounge furniture. The little post office touches adds a hint of history to a modern space. This is a great date spot for a talk/getting to know each other in a intimate setting. read more

A friend & I stopped by for drinks one evening after dinner. It was a Tuesday night so it was definitely slow & the staff was very attentive. The menu was spelled wrong when it came to the Hendricks gin (a lot of people spell it like the legendary guitar god, Hendrix but that is incorrect) I absolutely love the atmosphere & the decor. It's definitely better to meet a friend & have a drink rather than some of the much louder places downtown. I just went to Post for Sunday Brunch! We had the breakfast bagel and the brunch bowl. I was really excited about the bowl because it had Conecuh sausage (iykyk) tater tots, cheese curds, and scrambled eggs while the breakfast bagel had eggs, tater tots, cheese, and bacon on it. They were both pretty good but the breakfast bowl was the best- it had the most flavor. I did notice that the food seems to come from across the street from a restaurant called Odailys (?) in the little paper red and white concession stand baskets. But it's ok bc their pricing is great! They aren't charging gourmet pricing! $7for the bagel and $12 for the bowl! The Champagne mimosa special was $15/bottle!!! And even thought I'm kinda picky on champs- this one was great! I was amazed at the price after I tasted it! You could get OJ, or cranberry juice with it. Parking was accessible and easy on the street too! No complaints from me! Post as a bar itself is really cute. The staff is friendly and service is fast. However, I think for the crafted cocktails they aren't worth the prices. Yes, they have good drinks but not the best I've ever had, especially at a $10+ price point for some of them. They do have giant flamingo bowl that can be ordered and shared, which looks super cool but you can't keep it. The bites are surprisingly tasty, so if you're stopping in for a drink, it will pair nicely with the snacks. I really only knocked a star off for price, but overall this would be a nice place to stop by and get a drink. read more

My partner and I were here for the Final Four block party and sat at the patio wanting their signature Final Four drink after we had a beer with us at the O'daly's signature drink (owned by post) and we were refused service on the patio. The server for the patio was Michael, who did not service us after 30 minutes, even though there was two other tables out. I had to go in a ask for our drinks just for them to send a new bar tender out. After our order was placed, the manger brought our drinks out and I asked about the issue with service. She said "Its cause y'all already had drinks", i said that's not an excuse for lack of service. that was that. no follow up. definitely not coming back. horrible place. read more

The night I went to Post we arrived well before closing time, ordered drinks and were planning to leave after we finished. Minutes after we paid and left a 20% tip, the Post bartenders began to play "Get the Fuck Out" on repeat. They quickly made us feel uncomfortable enough that we left, at which point they locked the door behind us only to let their friends in to drink with them. We would have completely understood if they had told us when we came in that they were trying to close up, but instead they created a passive-aggressive spectacle over having to open 3 warm Bud Lights. Living and taking the subway in New York for the past 5 years could not have prepared me for the excessive rudeness I experienced in my home state from the workers at Post. I wanted to like this place. Like the decor and atmosphere very much. We met friends for drinks on a Tuesday evening. Ordered Old Fashioneds which had to be sent back because they were made wrong. Then ordered appetizers from the menu. It took so long, the kitchen "came over" - the kitchen is across the street - to apologize and it was still at least 20 minutes arriving. The appetizers were delicious. So when we are leaving, we mention this to the manager who did nothing but offer excuses. That the kitchen is across the street, it serves other restaurants in the block and don't come on Tuesdays because of the wiffle ball is a big event and they order lots of pizzas. So. Don't go to POST on Tuesdays. Otherwise it's not bad. I'd give it another shot. read more

There was a wedding shower for someone and a family member walked in with a baby and the main bartender, Alan, kicked them out because it was a "21 and up" bar. Ridiculous. Stopped in for a drink and appetizers but decided to just have a couple beers and leave. It was wonderfully festive which drew us in. But the inside smelled like cheap raspberry candles which was a big appetite suppressant. The two staff spent nearly the entire time on their phones which is the other reason we didn't order food. Our waitress gave a cursory welcome, took our drink order and after dropping off the beers went back to her phone without asking if we needed anything else. Do not recommend ever. They will cut you off after two drinks and give you no reason why. My friend was told he was kicked out for absolutely no reason, when we asked what happened they said "just because". They then told the bar across the street that we all not allowed in. I've been in Mobile for 15+ years and never seen anything like this. Trust me, I've had drunken nights where I should've been cut off, this was not one of them so I don't understand what happened for them to cut people off and kick people pout.
