I live and grew up in California, so being able to visit a winery in the south while visiting my parents was a great treat! The interior design is as gorgeous as the exterior. Such a beautiful property. They have a wide selection of wines and delicious wine slushies too. Great date spot, even had some excellent live music on Friday night. Their pours are generous for their tastings as well.

We loved this place! We stayed in downtown fairhope for a bachelorette and it was about a 20 minute drive. The wine tasting was perfect and we each ordered a menu item to share with the table. We ended up taking half the cheeseboard home because we had so much food. it was very chill and they had live music playing on the Friday night. It was perfect so we could hear each other talk and have conversation. The staff was so helpful and the owner was so kind and took a group photo for us! Loved this place!

What a beautiful place. We went as a group of 7, everyone did a wine tasting except 1 and they created a cider tasting for her. The club sandwich, quiche, and chocolate board were delicious. Our service and server were wonderful,

We had a fabulous time, tried about 6-8 different wines and came home with our favorites along with other local goodies. The only downside to this winery is that it's not very picturesque and seems to be very worn down. A little face lift would bring this place back to life, regardless we had a fabulous time and look forward to going back.

I must say this was the most informative and personalized tasting experience I have ever had, and I have really done my fair share of wine tasting! The woman who helped us had an amazing wealth of knowledge on the history of the vineyard, Alabama wine, and muscadine grapes. We spent an hour and a half tasting and learning about what really goes into each bottle. I feel that in most tasting rooms, you simply get the finished product that was designed for a specific taste. The experience at Perdido was much different. They truly showcase the fruit used to create the wine without relying on outside ingredients to change the taste. In the end, we walked out with three bottles, and as I sit here sipping their blueberry wine, I am disappointed that we did not bring home more. Although I am more than happy to give this place 5 stars (as I ACTUALLY went there unlike one reviewer...), I do have one disclaimer. There were some claims made as to the health benefits to drinking wine made from muscadine grapes (shared from the book Muscadine Medicine). I am not a doctor nor do I claim to be a health expert, but I do consider this to be a dangerous practice, especially when it is accompanied by suggestions that you may be able to stop taking doctor prescribed drugs if you just eat this super fruit. I certainly am no expert on the subject, but these kinds of claims can be dangerous if not supported by appropriate studies. Because I did not come here to get health advice, the wine itself as well as the personal experience really does deserve 5 stars. Please!!! If you are in the Gulf Shores or Mobile area, take the drive and try the wine. You will not be disappointed!!!

After filling up with an excellent complimentary meal we strolled over to this cool little place…read morethat way over to the right of the upper level on the opposite side of Original Oyster House. The name is cool and the sign boasting tropical wines lured us in. I specifically wanted to see if I could find an extraordinary wine that I found last year, somewhere in Mississippi. It was very inexpensive and I recall being intrigued by it at a roadside shop but can't remember where exactly. It was a coconut wine, I know it sounded weird to me too, however it was a delightful light & sweet wine that was super tasty and I want to find it. Sure enough this fun shop has lots of tropical wines, pineapple, mango, orange, apple, peach, pina colada, kiwi and even grapefruit but alas there was no coconut. The gentleman came over and offered to give us some help with his explaination of some of the various vineyards and specifics. Indeed Joe was our tour guide and provided some excellent choices of wine and had quite a few for tasting. While we were browsing we saw a big selection of Purple Toas wines which is a very nice Winery in Paducah, KY that's near our our old sailing home where we raced out sailboats. We did tastings there and really enjoy several of their wines, my favorite is the Black and Bruised and yes Joe's got some and we got some of that to bring home. I also spotted a nice selection of Biltmore wines from another one if my fave wineries in Asheville, NC.i asked for their riesling and yes they have it, so some of that to go. Next it was time to try something new so Joe asked of I like peach, to which I replied "does a bear ...." well I do live me some peach. He faces me a taste of an ice cold peach wine that knocked my socks off, so yes that was out next selection. We tried a couple others before Joe recommended an apple wine that is fermented in old bourbon casks. It was very poignant and reminded me of my sweetheart's favorite single malt scotches soooooo I had to get some of that for her. It's like a fine sipping wine for her, like a nice winter wine is for me :-) They have some other cool stuff in the store like frozen pina coladas made with wine a d sime fun gifts items as well. We racked up some nice selections of favorites and several new ones and now our wine fridge is all filled up. Bottom line: Joe is a very friendly, knowledgeable and fun guy to help you find just the right fun wine for you. I haven't seen this particular variety of fruity wines anywhere else in the area and recommend checking this place out. They do have traditional whites, reds, blancs and blends but the stars are the fruits.

Yet another stop I will have to make when I come to the coast! The selection of unique wines will…read moreleave you wanting to come back and the fruit flavored wine will have you wanting more. I loved the Watermelon, key lime, sangria, and blackberry wines AND they come in little pouches so you can take them to the beach!! Capri suns for adults!!! Take all my money now!
