I don't have a lot of things I ship, so it has been awhile since I visited PostalAnnex. It was really enjoyable to be greeted with such a friendly welcome. My things required their packing expertise and we discussed best lower cost option. It was a good collaboration and I received both an email and voicemail indicating that Scotty was able to get it done at the targeted price. Great people and service. Why drive into downtown to struggle to find parking in an unsafe area when this place has it all? I know I won't be doing that anymore! I've been to this location twice and both times were so surprisingly pleasant and even enjoyable! I've come here to take passport photos, and again last night to ship out a package. They've got everything you could need in a postal shop but what prompted me to write a review is the staff! They are so incredibly friendly and helpful. We got there yesterday 10 minutes before close and were feeling bad for coming in so late but they didn't seem to mind- they were relaxed and seemed just happy to be there and help! We left 2 minutes before close but they were still happily working, chatting and laughing with customers and not seeming to mind the time. Parking is in the back of the building as they're doing construction in the front. Also the building doesn't look like it from the outside, but the inside looks like a swanky hotel lobby and the bathrooms are clean and stylish too so that's another plus! read more

I've been here a few times and each time I have been welcomed as if I was a regular. Each transaction has gone smoothly. Recently I had a package lost, which was shipped with FedEx. With all the packages coming and going for the holidays it was bound to happen. Postal Annex was able to create a lost package report for me and assured that if it was indeed lost, I would be refunded with the content's amount and shipping fee. This Postal Annex is located in The Water Tower mall in Johns Landing. The have a storefront so you do not need to go inside the mall. Parking can be very tough here sometimes due to the small parking lot that is shared by the rest of the mall. I always try to avoid peak times. There is also street parking available. This place is perfect for personal and business needs. They offer all types of shipping and shipping supplies such as boxes, shipping tubes, bubblewrap and so on. Postal Annex also offers all sizes of printing and copying, laminating, business cards etc. They also have a great and fun variety of greeting cards, wrapping paper and colorfully printed envelopes. There are mailboxes for rent if you need one as well. If you need help with shipping something fragile or odd size they are more than helpful in recommending the correct padding and packaging. As I was walking away a woman ran to the door and shouted "COME BACK COME BACK I can help you!" So you don't miss receiving packages. Recently visited this store to ship out a solar panel, which required a custom/abnormal-sized box. The staff here were friendly, helpful, and deftly created a box to ship the panel out, as well as hooking me up with a bit of free bubble-wrap and tape. I went here recently to get some fragile items packed/ shipped and had a great experience. This reminded me that I should say a few words about this place as my husband and I used to do A LOT of shipping here when he worked in the Water Tower. The staff is super friendly and all my packages have been received in perfect condition and on time. The Water Tower location is great. I plan on crossing the Sellwood Bridge more often to do my personal shipping here since Sellwood does not have a shipping store as good as this one. I have gone to this postal annex numerous times and continue to use it for my business. They have the best service of any shipping store in the area. Recently a package of mine was supposed to be in Philadelphia for a conference but was apparently lost in Limbo, thanks Fedex ground. They print stuff, they notarize, they make copies of keys, they have greeting cards, stationary and anything you would need for a quick office work. Everyone here is really nice and you get great service, but the prices are really high. This is right across from my day job so I take a lot of things here. One day I thought I would take some personal items in and that's when I realized how high the prices were. Had never given it much thought when it wasn't my money. Always great service here. I like that their computer system keeps track of the addresses that you send to, so you don't have to look up addresses every time you go in. (I guess some folks might not appreciate that feature but I sure do!) Pricing does seem high sometimes but I'm not sure this place has any control over how much USPS, UPS, or FedEx charges for shipping. read more

Absolutely agreed with Kimmy K. This Postal Annex is like a scam on pricing their stuff. Stamp price is marked up 25%. I purchased an overpriced greeting card and a stamp which made my total purchase $4.50. Then they charged me extra 75 cents for using credit card for less than $5. Rent mailbox here is also more expensive than other UPS stores. Unless you are really desperate, this is not the place to do stuff for your small business. Be smart...or you will just feeding their business at your expense. read more

Went to Postal Annex to ship a flat square item. After claiming to have the perfect box for my item, they said that the shipping would be $60. For perspective, the item cost $18. Then, they told me that it if I went to the post office, they'd charge me no less than $96. $96!!!! So, I left. They were not happy that I didn't make a purchase and made me feel really uncomfortable. I went to USPS, and they charged me $10 for shipping. Absolutely absurd for them to charge so much, then to lie and say that the post office would charge me more. Postal Annex is 5 blocks from my house. The nearest post office is about two miles. Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more
