Nice staff. Very helpful. Fractured my foot so had difficulty walking my dogs. They came to my vehicle to do the nail trims which are reasonably priced at $5! Usually there is little to no wait. HORRIBLE, DISHONEST! I boarded my small dog here and she apparently escaped! When I arrived home there was a message for me from a neighbor of this dump letting me know they had my dog. I called on my way to pick her up (they had by then retrieved her) and the owner was "not available". She wouldn't meet with me and no one told me of the incident when I arrived there, I reported that I knew what had happened and no one would speak with me about it. She never answered my calls, and the flunky there when I arrived would not release my dog without full payment. STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR PET!! read more

I was bummed when I left this place. Firstly, its on a beautiful road in Novato, but the good ends there. I was allowed to walk around all the interior and play areas, and I was not thrilled. Actually, the outside play areas themselves were ok, especially the big back yard for big dogs. But the kennels where they keep the big dogs when they are "rotated" for play time looked like the pound. Sort of clean, but old and bent and sad looking. Plus, I was given a tour by a kid who looked 14. Very polite, but so young. My dog is very energetic, and while he is smallish, I would be so worried that he would be in the "rotate group" and put into one of those awful kennels. Also, as I was looking at the big play area, I noticed an older man staring outside one of the doors to the big dog kennels. I was talking to my tour-guide-14yearold-kid and the older man came towards us and proceeded to stand right behind me and stare at me. If I wanted a toothless man in overalls to stare at me, I certainly would not go to a dog kennel. C-R-E-E-P-Y. I don't know, its nice that they are family owned, but why does Novato have to be so tragically un-hip? I just want an affordable place to board my dog with cool dog people and a nice play yard. Haven't found it yet. Marin has loads of beautiful daycares, but they are so expensive and we need a cheaper alternative.....this place might work for some, but its not our style. read more

I've been taking my mini poodle here over the years for any long trip we take. It's a bit far from the city for me to use them for overnights, but anything over 3-4 days, the driving cost is more than paid for by the substantially lower price over SF based doggie day cares. Also, I like that my dog is outside vs in an indoor run, as it has to be healthier for him! 1. the small dogs have a lovely shaded yard and run of the office/grooming area for 12 hours a day, then sleep in crates 12 hours at night. My pup is crate trained so this is not a hardship for him and after 12 hours of play I suspect he needs it! 2. I have him groomed the day I pick him up, especially after long stays. 3. Have had zero issues with these folks over the years. They're kind and friendly and have been in the area a long time. They're really a fantastic resource and I highly recommend them. read more

I brought my puppy to Postmore and he was in heaven. He was able to play with dogs his size, and was well cared for during my time away from him. The staff at Postmore was very accommodating and friendly. The facility is clean and well maintained. I look forward to leaving my doggie there for daycare, boarding, and grooming. My dog is afraid of the big dogs (he IS a big dog by definition) and they are kind and accomodating letting him socialize with the littles. They do an awesome job on grooming and the doggie day care prices are fabulous - just $15 an entire day of fun. They obviously love the canines and are pretty nice to the people as well :-). I called at 8am and was greeted with a cheerful person. I was so grateful as I had been struggling with my 6lb long hair chih/pom after we were both skunked, mostly in the face. After 2 days of using all recommendations to help her, I found Postmore and to my surprise, they are in my neighborhood. She told me to come right over and the groomer was great. I picked her up at 2p, much earlier than I thought it would take, and the price was very reasonable. The location is clean, the dogs that were there were happy and I am going back for nail, etc when necessary. I hope we can support our local Novato businesses and share the positive! my Mila is on the road for recovery!!! I am very happy with this business. read more

I brought my 10 pound dog in for a grooming for the first time. 8 days later she is now suffering with a bad case of kennel cough. Will not go back. Sanitation of the facilities must not be a priority. read more

Out little dog is overjoyed when we bring her to Postmore. She loves running around with the other small dogs during the day - they have access to both the inside and the yard. They do not lock your dog in a fenced in run here. We will be leaving her there for 3 weeks this summer, without hesitation. They really love dogs here and it shows. There is someone on the premises 24/7. We also bring our dog here for grooming. They do a great job on our Westie with her special cut. read more

Really happy with this place! Postmore was recommended by our vet. We boarded our 80lbs Chocolate Lab for 10 days and had him groomed. Great facility, super clean and organized with very knowledgable and friendly staff. We'll definitely board him with Postmore again. read more

I have used Postmore many times. They have a great staff and a pretty nice facility. However, the last time I boarded my dog there, she got Kennel Cough, even though she's up to date on her vaccines. Since others have warned Postmore in these reviews that they are harboring Kennel Cough, and they have done nothing about it, I am going to find a new boarding facility. Really sad about this, but I won't risk it again. read more

My baby girl pug Prissy needed her nails cut badly! Most groomers charge anywhere from 5.00 to 20.00 bucks to get this done. I called Postmore and they said comon down, it's only 5.00. We drove down this beautiful picturesque street in Novato and parked in the lot and walked in! So many happy doggy's there! we saw pugs and more and I was happy they were so Pug friendly! Abagail came out from the back and asked me would we like her to go in the back with Priss or let my son hold her and she would do it in his arms. Because her nails were so long, we decided for Prissy's comfort to let Abagail do it while my son held her.5 minutes later, all done! My baby did not flinch once! Abagail was gentle and polite and I can not say enough about her! I would go back again and again. I tipped her 6 bucks and thanked her and we left. My pug is happy and so am I. Good job Abagail and I can not wait to go back again to try their other services. A+ read more

We have used many groomers in Marin over the years and Postmore is our favorite. They treat our dogs as if they were their own pets and the grooming is flawless. I brought my rescue dog, Bailey to Postmore for a full groom. Being a rescue, she's extremely nervous about new experiences and very sensitive to noises. Her haircut was absolutely fantastic- she's all evened out with no mats and is much more comfortable. They treated her with such care and patience, and even let her hang behind the front desk away from the other doggies so she would be more comfortable. For other owners of rescue dogs and those mindful of their budget, I would definitely recommend Postmore! read more

Mixed review, more bad than good, because of the "receptionist." I brought my middle-sized, middle-aged dog for her first visit to Postmore groomers yesterday. Here is the good part: the groomer and grooming job were terrific, as I asked for & better, and prompt. However, the person at the reception desk, apparently, and amazingly, the owner, was surprisingly and off-puttingly rude, condescending, and dismissive of my questions and concerns. During the drop-off, the "receptionist" complained grumpily about "too many" customers! I asked about the 4-hour turn-around which I had been told about by phone when arranging the appointment 2 weeks before, because I needed to leave for a 4-hour obligation immediately after the advertised pick-up time and was told in an exasperated tone that the "groomer wasn't there yet," so I shouldn't count on the timing working out. I called back 15 minutes after leaving my dog, in a clean, fenced, kennel, waiting area to ask if I might confirm an on-time or early finish by increasing the price I would pay and was not just turned down, but treated as if I had insulted the establishment. When I called near the hoped for pick-up time I was ridiculed, by the receptionist, with a demeaning epithet for my earlier concerns about timing and my mild concern about my dog's being left for the whole day if she weren't ready at the advertised pick up time. When I came to pick up my dog, the "receptionist" was grumpy, rude, curt, and very obviously anxious to be rid of me and my business. I finally asked if she were the owner and was truly amazed and dismayed to learn she was. But, obviously no sensible business owner would tolerate an employee treating a new customer so rudely. I will gladly do both myself and Postmore Kennels the favor of never returning for their services again or increasing what were seen as "too many" customers. Too bad for the excellent groomer. I hope another venue opens soon or hires what are probably a lot of unhappy, mis-treated grooming professionals. read more

Last winter my dog was there for 1 night. When I called to verify that I would pick him up the next day, they said that my dog "stunk" and so I gave the go ahead for a bath. When I arrived, the dog was still wet, and I questioned whether they used soap, as there was no smell other than a wet dog smell that I can get from giving him a dip in Crissy Field. By the way, the bath for a short hair dog was $40 and the kennel fee was $30. Yesterday, I picked up my dog after a 6 day stay. I called to check on my dog on the 3rd day. Again I was told that my dog "was stinky", which I ignored, but other than that the dog was fine. When I called again the day before pick up, I again was told that my dog "stunk" but I declined a bath. They said my dog rolled on his back in the yard. When I got my dog and his bed into my car. there was the worst smell ever! I could not stand it. So I threw out the dog bed that was stained with poo. Lo and behold, there was no longer a bad smell in my car and my dog was in the car! My dog gets 2 /3 walks/runs a day and comes back and sleeps on his dog bed. Never ever has his bed had the pee/poo /rancid smell it had after 6 nights at Postmore! My conclusion is: they did not let my dog out into the yard 4 times a day. In fact, I have a strong suspicion that my dog never got out of his run and he was stepping in his poo and pee that got transferred to the bed! I read another review where the owner dropped off her dog at Postmore for daycare which the dog was supposed to be in the yard for the day but she she went back to Postmore a few minutes later and her dog was not in the yard but the dark concrete dog run with the larger barking dogs. So, much to my dismay, after 2 tries, my opinion is that this place pushes the grooming services rather than the kennel service. Come to think of it, I have had many dogs (all from rescues)and used many services over the years, and I can say with honesty, that the Oakland SPCA and the SF Animal Care and Control kennels are by far much cleaner and have virtually no dog or cat smells and they work on practically no funds! The thought of my dog sleeping on his urine/poo bed for 6 days and me hearing 3 times of how my dog "stunk" (their actual words) to push their grooming service, leaves me sick and sad. This place is busy and had a good reputation, but maybe they are now too busy, to busy to care for the dogs and too busy to clean their business. read more

Postmore is AMAZING! And the prices are incredible. $15.00 per day for doggy day care, and $30 for overnights. My dog (large lab) used to stay at Camp Canine, and would come home trashed - spaced out, sore, not happy. Rumor has it he was being kept in a kennel (too small) and not let out to play more than twice a day (45 minutes). At Postmore he is clean, happy and raring to go when we pick him up. The staff is loving yet no nonsense. Perhaps because it's family-run they are more family-like in their approach to taking care of the dogs. The run/play area is super clean, and the LARGE dog runs where they sleep and rest are inside, and climate controlled. The balance of play time with like-sized dogs and rest time is perfect. Their dog grooming is also outstanding, and they will do it all (clip nails, etc.) There isn't one thing I would change about this kennel and would highly recommend it. read more

The amenities are far from impressive. They told me I needed to go there to check it out before booking, then made short handed comments about me coming to check out their facilities. Which, again, underwhelming... at best. The owner is by no means a warm person, but certainly is a know it all with her unsolicited advice on pet care. read more

Our dog Lucy (flat coat retriever) is SO happy when she arrives at her doggy spa-Postmore. This is saying a lot and it is always surprising to us because Lucy has a lot of anxiety. :-) . We are fairly regular customers and Lucy sometimes stays up to 8 or 9 nights. When we pick her up she is always happy and healthy. We typically have her bathed and she looks and smells amazing. We are actually pretty sure that her visits to Postmore have helped to ease her anxiety. The staff members that I have met are dog lovers who know all of their doggy guests by name. We recommend Postmore to all of our friends. read more

I retired a few years ago, adopted my dog Izzy & began to travel. Postmore has been a terrific solution for me - Robbie & her staff take excellent care of my girl, often for extended periods of time. We live out of town and take our 50 lb GSD mix with us most everywhere. As the weather was warm, we were looking for someplace for her to stay for 3 hours while we went to an afternoon anniversary party in the area. We took a risk and planned to leave her at Postmore based on what we had read. Boy, were we happy and so was she! What wonderful people, and great in the way they handle the dogs. They spent time to make sure all the dogs, including ours were calm before introducing her into the play area. At the end of the 3 hours, our pup was happy and worn out....I highly recommend Postmore for daycare, like sending your dog to his best friends house. read more

Our English Springer Jake has been going to Postmore for years--as he aged they adapted to his fears--Jake was blind. As soon as we would arrive, Carlos would say "Go on, Jake......." away jake would go, bumping his way along in the office until he found the bed up under the counter. He loved the whole crew there. He actually turned and hesitated when we would pick him up.........but my friends....... I can't say enough about our positive experiences with Postmore. I've been meaning to write this review for awhile but am just getting around to it. For years I had a lab from Guide Dogs for the Blind. I was very spoiled in that we got vet care and free boarding (I KNOW!) while we had our dear breeder, Crissy. When Crissy passed we adopted a lovely standard poodle named Harpo. He is a great dog, but, a runner and SMART. Has escaped our well fenced yard twice and comes home when it gets dark. He is also kind of timid. Needless to say I was kind of a wreck when I had to board our little boy for 2 weeks when we went to Europe. I went to MANY websites and asked for lots of recommendations. I noticed that many places had ala carte menus that included things like "20 minute fetch time with your dog." Well, this made me very anxious, as if those doggies whose parents shelled out "the big bucks" for extras would get all the attention.This did not work for me. Then a friend told me about Postmore. I spoke to Carlos on the phone - very reassuring, suggested I bring Harpo in for a half a day to see how he did. I noticed when I dropped him off that the atmosphere was relaxed, the place was clean and tidy, and all of the dogs seemed to get along. There was a big play yard for the big dogs. Harpo reluctantly went in but they kept an eye on him. I was able to bring him back for 3 more play dates to see how he did. Carlos suggested I bring an article of my clothing at drop off, which I did along with his bed and Bully sticks for him to have in his run. Carlos is a dream, really knows dogs and is so reassuring. He really walked me through it. Also, the owner, Robbie, (who was maligned in a previous post) is a no nonsense gal who runs a tight ship but who clearly knows dogs and cares for them. She sent me photos of Harpo while we were gone. He was very happy to see me but in great shape when I picked him up. We recently went back for grooming and he was very happy to be there. This place is much more my speed than the high pressure expensive world of dog boarding. The dogs play and eat. They get lots of time outside, and our dog was LESS neurotic when we picked him up than when we dropped him off. He gets along great with other dogs now!!There ARE certain things other dogs can teach better than we can. After reading the yelp reviews I did 2 smart things: I had him bathed the day I picked him up AND I bought a new bed (Costco) and took the one that had been at Postmore straight to the trash. It stunk. I have also taken Harpo for grooming and Henry does a wonderful job. Overall, I am so glad we found Postmore. read more
