They always use a new / clean cutting board, a new cutting knife, & changed their gloves to ensure no cross contamination while making our sandwiches. Grabbed our staff lunch today. Got one beef sub, lettuce and tomato on a white bun and 3 meatball subs on white buns, all were regular sized too. Extremely disappointed today. Potbelly is my all time sandwich shop however today I placed an online order. I ordered the usual, itallian with extra tomato and extra onion. Mustard, mayo and red wine vinegar. I received one tomato no red wine vinegar and (possibly) 2 small slices of onion. My boyfriend got a wreck and was satisfied with his. They were closing early due to holiday hours, however I arrived 20 mins prior to closing, doors were locked. About 5 employees were inside. When I attempted to enter they all scurried to the back after looking at me. I went back to my car and called the location. No answer. Made sure I selected the correct location and that the order was debited from my bank account (it was). Next thing I know they opened the door n tossed my order on the ground. Again, huge fan of potbelly, will probably never return to this location. Service = 0 stars. Food = 2, only because my boyfriend liked his. Maybe go with jersey Mike's instead of this lovation location. Not a happy customer today. AND I had a free dream bar (potbelly points) which was also not included in the order. read more

This location is always steady and they have decent customer service and friendly staff members. They seem to have the system down and they serve their customers well. The restaurant keeps their tables clean and the place is in good condition. One thing that I suggest is that they put your sandwiches in a bag. The customer always has to ask for a bag, even for many sandwiches. Potbelly sandwiches just aren't as good as they could be. The concept of nice bread, meats and veggies, all warm and toasty is what people come in for, but it is just ok. The sandwiches need more ingredients, more meats and cheeses, you shouldn't have to get a "big" to have a decent amount between the bread. Most people want more than just a thin layer of fillings, especially for the price. I bought three sandwiches and three chips and it amounted to $49. I had to upgrade to a big. That's a lot for a meal of sandwiches, I say too much. Because of this, I do not frequent Potbelly. I think they can have a better bang for the buck! read more

I did not try the potbelly sandwich shop on grand River. The one that I went to was on Rochester Road near Walton Boulevard. One side tried their sub sandwiches and other items I was very glad that I did. This particular potbelly sandwich shop hand, one of the best subs from Oliver that I have had before at different times I tried five different kinds of subs and all were excellent. My Sandwich was perfect and tasted amazing. I kept it simple. Cold, Roast Beef w/Swiss, Onion, Lettuce and their Red Pepper Ranch!!! You really can't go wrong with this one. Consistently Poor Service. I've been a fan of Potbelly for years, but I will never visit this location again! Some employees at checkout are UNBELIEVABLY rude and disinterested in working. You just might have to wait for one of them to finish scrolling amlisly on personal phone before you can checkout. The last 2 times I went at lunch rush, the tall woman never puts her phone down and avoids working. This time, we went to Chick Filet across the street and had a 5 Star customer service experience. Had the "Wreck" as was extra hungry. Large. $13 ish. All toppings. It was well toasted, warm and a hearty amount of meat. However it was a bit dry, so next time I would get a soup or some sauce. This was my first time trying Potbelly sandwiches. The menu was posted and easy to navigate. What gets problematic is the actual ordering of the sub. It was a Friday night around 830pm and not busy at all. After my husband and I placed the order, we moved down to the payment counter. The worker asked what I wanted and I thought that the sub on the menu would come with toppings listed. This is misleading and confusing because you have to ask for every single topping. The tall countertop doesn't allow you to see what the workers are doing which I'm also not a fan of since you can't see what is going on your sandwich. The sub was pretty good. It was $20+ for 2 subs made into meals with 2 drinks and 2 chips. read more

[2.25 Stars] My introduction to the Potbelly Sandwich Shops was through a catered business lunch. A few minutes before the pre-arranged time, a box of halved sub sandwiches, in a variety of basic (ham, turkey, roast beef and veggie) varieties arrived. The sandwiches appeared a bit jostled and soggy from the trip, likely more a consequence of food delivery than it was a fault of Potbelly. The sandwiches all had relatively little meat and much bread, and the roast beef was a sickly gray color. Those quibbles aside, taste would be the test. Despite its lack of quantity, the quality of both ham and turkey each registered as being good. The various sauces and dressings were well-chosen for their support of the respective protein. As indicated by their visual appearance, both saturated bread and excessive vegetation degenerate my overall impressions of Potbelly Sandwiches, but they weren't bad. I don't believe that the Potbelly chain has expanded into the New York Metro Area, so this might have been my first and last encounter with yet another sub chain. read more

I went here with my mom today because I had a free sandwich coupon, and she had a free cookie coupon - we got these at the Ann Arbor art fair, back in July, and have been procrastinating upon using them, but they expire 12/31. I love Potbelly's pizza sub but they seem to have changed up the recipe - it used to be just mozzarella, tomato sauce, and mushrooms and pepperoni, so I'd have them hold the pepperoni (less calories for me). Now it's all of those plus capicola and meatballs, so I told the employee at the counter that I wanted "no meats" on my sub. What I got was a PLAIN sub (only sauce and cheese) so luckily I asked the 2nd person on the assembly line to re-add mushrooms. It was packed when we got there too, around 1:30pm on a Tuesday (but during winter break for some people). The cashier was very pleasant though, and made up for the sub error a bit. This location gets 3 stars instead of 4 from me because the bathroom was a bit messy (paper towels on the floor), the trash was overflowing when I went to throw out my sandwich paper (though to be fair, I saw an employee emptying it a few minutes later), and the table we sat at was kind of sticky on top. There was also a pretty, um ... phallic drawing on the table that looked like someone had tried to scrub off, but it was still plainly visible. (I'm no prude but ... really?) First time here recently. It was 2:30 and I was surprised at how crowded it was (with many middle school age kids). Waited in a long line with my sandwich in hand to pay. (they could use 2 cash registers) The staff were pleasant and efficient, but this cavernous place was annoyingly noisy. There were many loud machines (for cold drinks, etc) and loud music. I enjoy Potbelly and their salads because they are full of good for you stuff, and the house made non-fat vinegarette is so fantastic I wish dearly that they sold it by the bottle. Their sandwiches are tasty as well, although they are nothing out of the ordinary - basically just run of the mill variety deli sandwiches, but made with better ingredients than you usually find at a chain sandwich shop. Menu is relatively small. However, they could probably knock a dollar off the price of everything on their menu. Little pricey considering, as I mentioned before, their menu is small and consists of pretty standard items. There have been a number of times I have had to clear my own table of crumbs/dirt from the previous diner. In their defense, Potbelly can get pretty busy, but I think keeping tables clean is something that needs to be kept on top of, regardless. Also, most locations hire local musicians to play during peak lunch and dinner hours, which is a cool idea in theory but not so cool in practice when I end up rushing my lunch just so I can escape the 19 year old pimple-faced kid crooning Green Day's "Time of Your Life" 5 feet from my table. Overall, props to Potbelly for serving higher quality food than your average chain. But other than that, they're nothing too special. read more

Walk into Potbelly's and just feel the love! The service is excellent and the associates seem to be having a great time. They service salads, soup, chili, hand dipped milk shakes but are best know for their toasted sandwiches on regular or wheat bread. Order your sandwich, move down the line and tell the next person what you want on it. In my opinion, you absolutely MUST try it with the hot peppers! They make the sandwich! But if you're chicken, ask for a side of the peppers and dribble the oil on your sandwich to get a hint of the flavor. Not all hope is lost if you wont try the peppers. My boyfriend is a picky eater and gets a "wreck" with just mayo and he loves it. "The Wreck" is the sandwich that put them on the map. Great food, low price and excellent service deserves 5 stars! I don't recall the last time I was here. But I like the atmosphere they created, with the exposed brick walls and exposed piping in the ceiling, like an urban loft. Sandwiches tasted good and weren't badly priced. The ice cream sandwiches looked promising, and I actually ordered a pickle that was good, too. We have frequented this location alot so I was surprised to see I had not written a review - whoops!! My favorite sandwich there is the Mediterranean Veggie add hot peppers, onions, and pickles. The zippy hummus is the best. It is smooth and spicy at the same time! Get it and then thank me!! My hubby likes the wreck because it has all the different types of meat and he's a meat n potatoes man so it's a perfect fit :) They also have great bread, it's got a good crunch and holds up really well to all the toppings and sauces. My boss likes this place a lot so my department orders from this location quite a bit. Without fail, they get at least 2 items wrong every time we order so we have to call and complain. Unfortunately they never mess up the boss's order or we would probably stop ordering from here. Most recently, they messed up my grilled cheese w/peppers and tomatoes. I'd never been to a Potbelly before, but there wasn't a single thing wrong with the experience. We were greeted at the door by a very kind woman offering very generous samples of their newest sandwich as well as a new smoothie. The line was very long but it disappeared quickly, certainly due to the quick and capable staff. I had the chicken salad sandwich: full of flavor and very filling. My partner had the bbq pulled pork which they do very very well. The multigrain bread was super yummy. Clean and inviting. I definitely would return. read more
