Bottom line is that business like this are focused on maximizing revenue and contribution goals to the "practice" than the patient and the local community healthcare needs. The doctors are now employees under these business structures (with their 9-5 workdays and kickass 401ks) and answer to what the funding source (their management) demands and controls. Hey doc-in-the-box sign these Non-disclosures to ensure you don't stray from the corporate playbook and the big Pharma sales pitches. And if you're Medicare, consider yourselves safe, forget LSFP as an option and my message all together, since seniors need not apply and belong in a third world clinic anyhoot. Folks in Lovettsville are witnessing these keen eye on revenue goals with the closure of this office because, as the email states, it's due to "financial challenges" due to the increasing costs to operate as an "independent medical office" (really, independent?, that lends to an oxymoron you employee-doctor). Following guidance from O'Hanrahan the accountant and LSFP concluded that consolidation is the answer and maximize patient counts and wait times coupled with a good drive allows for inner reflection and self healing. Or is really about pulling the numbers and matching the billing code that maximizes revenues for practice contributions (can't call it profit -- right you kinda like non-profit business entity)? By the way, certain billing codes need not apply. Come on, rather than bringing medical services to the community, the community must now travel to the medical service wherever it may be and a little reflection on a long drive is like a spoonful of big Pharma medicine. Dare I mention now, only if you have a qualifying plan, so call before you go, since there are only six insurance plans accepted. Other plans need not apply. But wait!.. with the right plan and age and pharma gullibility, you still have a choice of five LSFP facilities to inconveniently travel to; and get there early for the free toaster! Maybe not a toaster, unwrapped sausages in a can perhaps? Doctors seem to be focused on trends and administrative checkboxes and counts to satisfy the folks that sign their paychecks and approve their leave rather than individual patient care or well-being. They look at you like you're interrupting them from their chatter. The office & exam rooms are run down, with scuff marks, smudges and dents in the walls. Okay in a pinch, but I'm going to look for a new primary care doctor. If you go to this practice, prepare to be very proactive regarding your care. I called after hours one time, but the on-call doctor never called me! I complained, they said the office manager would "look into it" - but they NEVER called back!

Yes, I raised my voice -- but only out of understandable frustration. Of all places, a doctor's office should be able to show empathy toward patients during such vulnerable moments. Shame on you. I sincerely hope these calls are recorded, because if they are, leadership should listen carefully to the cold, blanket, and heartless way your staff speaks to patients. On top of that, it was completely inappropriate that the doctor who ordered the tests tried to downplay potential positive results, brushing them off as "not a big deal." That was not her place. As a patient, it is my right to have my results taken seriously and to receive appropriate, compassionate guidance -- not to be minimized or dismissed. You have no idea what someone is going through outside your office walls, and to be treated with such dismissiveness and cruelty by people we pay to trust with our health is appalling. Why do I LOVE Dr. Walsh? Let me count the ways…read more.. Dr. Walsh does not take insurance, doesn't have any other doctors in her office, and doesn't have nurses or a receptionist. Scheduling is all online, through her very informative website. While some may see that as a negative, I see that as a positive, especially when looking at the cost of service. I am paying a low, preset fee to see the doctor. I am not also paying for a receptionist, an insurance billing specialist, and a nurse. I pay my $90, I send the bill to my insurance myself and I save a ton of money. Dr. Walsh does not have a receptionist or nurses. When I go see her, I see HER from start to finish, instead of passing through various people to get a hurried 10 minutes of time with a physician. Contacting her is also easier, because I don't have to go through multiple layers to get to her. You know how it usually goes....call the office, leave a message for the doctor, get a call back from the nurse, explain everything to the nurse, who will then discuss it with the doctor, only to get a call back from the nurse saying the doctor wants you to come in. Ugh. With Dr. Walsh, I email her directly, and she either emails or calls me back in hours, not days. If she can help without coming in to see her, she will. She is not in it for the cash. Dr. Walsh does not have back up doctors. This means you are never confronted with a total stranger if something happens. My niece had a rather unpleasant experience with a cyst, and not only did Dr. Walsh come into the office on a Sunday night to take care of it, she even offered to go to my niece if she couldn't drive herself. No backup doctor would do that. Actually, unless you are having a baby, no regular or backup doctor does anything after hours, you go to the ER with all the other injured/sick people. Dr. Walsh doesn't have a thousand patients. This allows her time to keep tabs on things like prescription prices, and where and how to get the best deal. Did you know that sometimes, it is cheaper to pay out of pocket instead of insurance? Neither did I, until she told me that my $35 inhaler through insurance was $12.50 at Costco if I didn't use my insurance. Copays are tricksy and she knows where you can get the best price. Because she keeps her patient list small, she knows her patients. Really KNOWS them... she doesn't need to look in my chart to know why I see her or what is going on. She knows my name, my history, my family, and all the other aspects that you learn about people you know. This is only part of why she is an excellent physician. And here is the really important part....she really is an excellent physician. She knows her stuff and she will take good care of you. You will feel cared for, not rushed through an antibiotics cattle call. If you are looking for a practice with lots of warm bodies to pay attention to you, then this isn't the practice for you. If you are looking for excellent medical care from a wonderful physician, you won't find better than Dr. Walsh.
