There was this Asian lady that absolutely destroyed my hair. This is not just your average bad hair day either, this is a hair doomsday. I walked in and asked for a messy fringe thats longer on top. I saw my usual barber and she was busy so, despite my better judgement when this asian women shuffled me into her seat I sat down. I watched in utter horror as she slowly cut clumps out of my scalp. Even the other barbers there seemed a bit concerned by what was happening. I walked out looking like I had been through 3 months of chemotherepy. It usually costs 19 dollars, but she charged me 21 and pocketed the extra three because she knew she would never get a tip for what she had just done to me. The other barbers are mediocre but as long as that Asian women is there I wouldnt risk it. read more

Popped in here when I couldn't get over to my regular barber for a trim. There was a bit of a wait, even on a weekday morning, but that told me it was worth grabbing a chair along the wall. These guys are the classic old school barbers and have obviously been here for awhile, thankfully. When it was all said and done, I was impressed with their attention to detail and straight razor shave to clean up the edges. Overall, not too shabby, even if it felt like I was infiltrating a mid-day AARP gathering. read more

I'll definitely go back.At first I was a bit worried as the barber went to town on my head, but if you read my review of Dino's out in Aspen Hill you'll know I'm picky and paranoid about barber shops. The cut was awesome. And I don't have to haul all the way over to Aspen Hill for a cut anymore. The price was right at 15 for a straight up cut, and he took care of my beard/brows/stache as well. Don't be scared by this location. Quick men's haircuts with friendly service at very affordable prices. The bf loves it here and especially loves the hot shaves they finish off the cuts with. There are so very few places in the Mo Co area that even do hot shaves with a razor; the fact that this place is behind our house and so great is a plus. read more

If I'd made this review yesterday, would have been lower, but once I shampooed my hair this morning to get the gel & stuff out, its a pretty good cut. Can't remember my barbers name, definite Italian accent and he is not afraid to move your head around while you're in the chair. He said he would make me look like a movie star, involving two types of product and a hairnet on my head while blow drying, and my hair is on the short side. Think I'll forgo the product and blow dry next time. read more

Today I called Potomac Valley Barber shop and spoke to George. I have been going to a Hair place for a long while, and the stylist left that I had been using. I must admit that a real barber shop was not where I was going. I live only less than a couple miles from Potomac Valley and decided to try it out. i asked George several things on the phone before I came in and He set me at ease. I got the best haircut I had had in a very long time and the environment brought me back to the days when I used a real barber. He was a real pro. I had a horrible experience here. I got extremely shoddy treatment and a very poor cut. There was inattention, carelessness, and stupidity all-around. I told the barber I wanted size 1 on the sides, tapered in the back and spiked in the front. He ripped the glasses off my face and got started. In the middle of the cut he answers his phone and proceeds to talk to someone for a minute before he gets back to the cut. He cuts the back and then asked if I wanted the front cut. I said "a little". He then took 20 seconds with the razor and started mowing the top haphazardly and in quick random motions, like he was mowing grass. At one point he was going so fast that he pushed the razor down too hard and mowed off a large patch towards the front of my hair. I repeat, there is a now a light patch on my head four inches in width in the shape of a boomerang close to the front of my hair in the middle of my dark black hair. The barber then proceeded to curse aloud several times with the word 's---t' at his own mistake and started slamming my head with the palm of his head. When he told me to put on my glasses, I noticed that the front was so short overall that it was disproportionately short to the sides(which were already cut at a short length, with a size 1 razor), after I had already told him to just cut a little off the front. I told him there was too much taken off in the corners and he proceeded to cut the corners more. I don't know if this was bad English comprehension or just stupidity. At this point, I needed to get out of there before he cut my scalp bald. I told him I wanted the manager and he said that was him. I asked him whether it was possible for him to think my hair looked good at this point and he said yes. I was visibly shaken and unhappy and he then started to push the blame on the barber before him, saying that she had done an uneven job, even though I've seen that barber several times happily. This is not where the story ends. We went to the front so I could pay and he says that he wouldn't take my credit card and that I didn't have to pay. Of course I was still going to pay on principle. He yanks a 10 dollar bill out of my hand and tells me to "just go", and then says "allright, buddy". He kept calling me buddy like I was some idiot. Now I have an uneven, extremely short cut, misaligned glasses, and a deep annoyance at this total moron. I will never go back and I hope nobody else does too. read more

Finally, a barbershop that I can go to with the confidence of getting a nice cut. I don't understand how no one else in the area knows what a fade is. I literally say the same thing every time: one and a half with a fade on the sides, fauxhawk on top. Last place I went before this hooked me up with a bold 60s bowl cut. How does that even happen??? Thank god for these guys and their surprisingly affordable haircuts. Nowhere else serves the same quality for the modest $15 price. Keep up the good work fellas!!! read more

Worst barber shop that I've walked in. I walk in no hello just two people staring at me line I was a monster. I say can I get a hair cut. One barber pointed to the next barber then she pointed to the other barber. So I say is any one going to cut my hair all I hear is silence. So I proceed to walk out. Then another barber came out of the back by the name of George.huge smile and asked if I needed a cut I said yes I would love one. So he cuts my hair. Witch looks amazing and he apologizes for the other barbers explains that they really don't know how to cut urban hair. That's all they had to say instead of treating me like poop. The entire staff is friendly and my boys always leave happy. They take the time to do it right and they're prices are very fair.
