I have been going to Ann's for over 25 years and have never been disappointed. She is friendly and funny.

Like many residents of this area, I've been a customer of Ann's for almost two decades. Have had cuts from both Ann and Billy, and they are both incredibly kind, friendly, precise, and experienced. To top it off: in 2023, where even Hair Cuttery charges $36 (with tip), their prices remain very reasonable and a great value. I don't understand the bad reviews - couldn't ever imagine anyone here being rude to a customer. Highly recommended! read more

Have been going to Ann's for the past 20? years. She and her staff are great. They observe all COVID protocols and have managed to stay open through the last difficult year. I rarely write on line reviews but I am happy to recommend Ann's Barber Shop. I have had my hair cut there for 18 years and still drive back from VA to Potomac Village. Their service has alway been extraordinary. In the wake of COVID 19 their business has dropped off. I have been back twice since the reopening. Their attention to detail regarding sanitation and compliance is total and complete. I have complete confidence in coming there and getting my haircut. AWESOME.... and I don't use all caps or the word awesome lightly... I've been getting my hair cut here since 2005.... wow.... I guess its been 8 years! They do all kinds of cuts well, from helping me grow my hair out without it looking like thats what I'm trying to do... you know what I mean.... it being in that awkward stage of in between lengths to fohawks to my current crew cut :). They take special care to make sure you don't have any stray uncut hairs and really take delight and pride in their cuts. I've found no other place in the area that takes this much care in making sure I look good. Plus once you become a regular you don't even have to explain what you want :) they know right away and all you have to do is relax! And yes the women at the shop do cut a lot better... Ann being the best and fastest too! Finding the right barber is harder than finding a good mechanic! I would give 6 stars if possible! ****With regards to the price increases.... I say eh... they probably have increasing costs too so its not a biggie... I usually give Ann $25 and give the rest as tip so its all good because at about a $1 a day or so I know I'll be looking good for the next 25 days! -map read more

I've been taking my boys here since they were 2 and 3 yrs old. It is so conveniently located. We almost always see Kim. Ann is also wonderful. Haircuts always look Fab! It has been 9 years. We are so sad as we are moving out of state and will miss Kim and Ann. They will be super hard to replace. We will be back for cuts when we are in town. read more

My sons and I have been going to Ann's for more than 5 years. See the photos of the kids after their haircuts on the wall? I'm pleased to say that we were the first on the wall. Great value and I appreciate that they take their time, even when there's a line of folks waiting. Nice that open on Sundays too. My oldest uses Ann, my younger one uses Billy and I use May. All three do a great job and are super-nice people. As we prepare for a move back to the NYC area and I went in for my last haircut as an MD resident yesterday, I realized that Ann's is one of the things that I'll miss down here. If my timing is right when we come back to visit family, we'll definitely pop in and get haircuts in the future! read more

Want an inexpensive and very decent haircut? This is your place -- even for girls. The people are really nice. They are also very good with people with developmental disabilities. Very patient and thoughtful. They usually have a football game on quietly in the background on a big screen TV. Lots of mostly men's magazines. read more

Some of the barbers can't handle certain orders as well as others. I've been there a total of four times, over the course of three years. The first, second, and fourth times, the barbers didn't listen quite as much as I would like them to, and made my hair far too short, and made it a lot thinner. Normally, I have hair that stops just above the shoulder, and is somewhat thick, but those times they made it much shorter and thinner, making me look like a certain Canadian singer. The third time was an exception, however. If the barbers there could listen better to customers, I would be more inclined to give a positive response. read more

This is a great place to go for family haircuts -- better for boys/men than girls/women in general, but good for both overall. The place is clean and the people are very nice. The haircuts are not too expensive. The bathroom leaves something to be desired, and it would be great if they had more magazines geared to women. But the men love the big screen TV that has football and all the sports magazines! read more

This is, by all means, one of the worst places for people going here for the first or second time. I recently got a haircut, and the cut was the exact opposite of what I wanted. They don't show me what I look like until after the damage has been done. The cuts themselves take over an our, and when it's all done, I end up with hair three inches shorter (I asked for 1/2-1 inch shorter). Their perception is such that angers me to a boiling point, and there is no solution for me before I go to my office when work restarts for the spring. read more
