Cruising down I-35 and the family was getting hungry... we had zero clue what to expect when we went into Ardmore.. well we have now found our new place to stop when we are heading south... the staff was super super friendly. They offered suggestions to their favorites, and they were amazing.. I regret not taking pics.. I had some carne asada dish. It was pretty spicy, but simply amazing.. everyone loves their food. Almost needed a wide angle lens to get the whole meal in view. LOL. Had the 3 taco combination with one of each: carnitas, carne asada and Barbacoa. Was also given 3 salsas: regular, verde and jalapeño. Everything, including margarita, was authentic, affordable and oh so good. Service was great too. Gladly I was able to find an open restaurant after 9:00 pm. Unfortunately, I wasn't so happy with the rooms environment, such as how freezing the temperature was kept in the bar area. I usually am one to order tacos at a Mexican restaurant, but I was dissatisfied with my order of tacos al pastor. I left within the hour just to be outside in a warmer temperature. read more

Family trip decided to stop for late lunch here based on other reviews in yelp and it was very much worth it. I have a 5yr girl who is not a mexican food fan but loved and devoured the nachos. I had the Chicken Chimichanga which was amazing. The salsa they have is great the green is spicer but interesting flavor asked what the green was and waitor said it was jalepeno, avocado, and some oils. We will stop here again when in the area in the future. Staff was friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Worth the try and fair prices. read more

Authentic Mexican food! The service was excellent, the cheese enchiladas were wonderful. The refried beans and rice were some of the best I've ever had. I will be going back again! The only drawbacks: Queso is not brought out with the chips and salsa, and you do not get flour tortillas. Definitely disappointed on that account. Also, it was very, very cold. Had to eat with my coat on. But it was a very cold day. Wish they had turned the heat up. However, the food was amazing. Worth a try. Please: include queso and flour tortillas! If you are from TX do not come here. We came up to Lake Murray for the day, on the way back we were feeling hungry & decided to stop by here based off the reviews. We were seated pretty quickly, our table was 7 people, 4 adults & 3 children. Almost 10 minutes had passed before we gave our drink order, a fly is floating in one of the sprites & all sodas have zero sugar and is just carbonation. Our margaritas were supposed to be top shelf but tasted like watered down tequila with lime. Had to ask to replaced the drinks first, we decided to place the kids orders first as well since they were already hungry. Once we placed the adults order, it took about another 10 min before 2/3 kids meals came out. Another 10 min pass and we have to ask where the 3rd child's food is at. All she ordered were chicken nachos. When they came it was beef & the plate was incredibly hot as if it had been sitting under the heat lamp for the 10+ min we had originally waited. We also ordered a ceviche appetizer that never came out, I had to remind the server to please remove it from the tab. I had personally ordered a taco plate & when my food came all I was served was a single sad taco. I had to tell the waiter the order was wrong, he was polite and apologetic. My friend never received her tortillas with her order, after all this we were pretty ready to leave. We left and still left a little under 15% because we have all worked in the service industry & know everyone has their bad nights, but this was just way overboard! This place needs a serious manager to run things on the kitchen & on the floor. The food was very bland had no flavor. As a Mexican American who appreciates authentic Mexican & Tex-Mex cuisine, I just don't know what to call this place, was definitely overhyped on reviews, will not recommend. read more

My wife and I just picked up an order of fajitas to-go and they hooked us up with rice, beans, chips, and two different kinds of salsa! (ask for the green salsa! Small Mexican restaurant, but moving to a larger location soon. My husband ordered one of the specials - Quesadilla Tejana which was beyond wonderful!! It looked like a homemade flour tortillas filled with grilled chicken, beef, shrimp, and grilled vegetables that was definitely worth 5 stars. My choice was a carnitas burrito covered in a cheese sauce which was stuffed full of tender pork but was lacking in flavor (hence the 4 star rating). Hope to make better choice next time! The menu is full of choices and they serve you a basket of good chips and salsa. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back next time we are near Ardmore, OK. read more

The food was really good with great Mexican flavor, something just a little different from the other Mexican places in Ardmore. The service was a little slow but very friendly staff. No margaritas but the beer is very cold, served in lime and flavored salt rimmed frozen mugs. Try the Mocalete Fajitas, you won't be sorry. read more

Best Mexican between Dallas TX and Oklahoma City! Easy access to/from I-35 at Exit 31A. Every dine-in experience has been GREAT! Haven't tried carry-out yet. Food tastes freshly prepared, is plentiful, and served hot. Lots of chips and salsa. Waitstaff is pleasant, attentive, and helpful. I love the food here. It always fills me up, tastes amazing, and has a fresh flavor. I'm not a big soup person, but I ordered the tortilla soup when I was sick and fell in love. There was freshly diced avocado, tomatoes, and more! I eat here every time it's my turn to pick a restaurant. The last time we were here though, Feb 2'nd, the service was below par. 3 different men waited on our table and drinks were empty for a while. Maybe they were busy? Awesome Molcajete Fajitas!!! If you're from Texas, it isn't the regular beef fajitas we have there, but are great and definitely more than enough food for a family of three if you get the for two portion. Best Mexican food in Ardmore! This is authentic, not Tex-Mex. Potrillos is a small, unassuming restaurant in the northwest part of Ardmore. The restaurant is clean and the service is fast and friendly, but the best part is the food! Authentic tacos of Barbacoa, Lengua, Carnitas, Chorizo or Carne Asada are amazing. The chunky guacamole is out of this world! Also try the quesadillas, they are stuffed nearly 2" high with meats, cheeses and veggies. Fajitas are really good too. They don't serve margaritas, but you can get domestic and imported beers and the best bottled coke (made with pure cane sugar). Give this place a try, you'll be glad you did. read more

I love their food! They are inexpensive and have decent portions. They even have Menudo on Sundays, which my husband says is "Just okay," but everything else is great! Fantastic restaurant! Portion size was decent. This is not Tex-Mex, this is authentic Mexican! Worth the wait because the place is a little small with only 10 tables, but fantastic food.
