After finding the entrance and parking in the lot of eye catching flag displays, we found ourselves in a maze of pottery, statuary, and fountains. The PotStop has tons and tons (literally), of anything and everything you can imagine for yard decor. We spent a few hours searching the acreage of concrete designs. The selections were amazing and gave us a number of great ideas for our back yard. Some items were at affordable prices, but most were higher than I expected. There were even some artistic designer stuff that would be ideal for your mansion. After looking at the online advertisements and many nice photos of their inventory, which was vast and exciting to see, we drove out there as I needed several xtra large pots for a recently landscaped yard. What we found was a garden of what seemed to be old inventory pottery most of which were hiding behind the tall weeds growing throughout the entire shop sans the very front where the cash register sat. The young woman who helped us at first was very pleasant to talk to and it was just sad to see that the owner would allow the place to have the weeds waist high so that if you dared to fight through them to locate a pot you'd have a very difficult time getting one out. I was worried about what possible creature was roaming around under all the brush just waiting to bite or crawl up my leg so I quickly left . I remember when the Pot Stop was Little Baha and organized, clean and NO TALL WEEDS. So sorry to see its decline. They really should remove their apparently old advertisements as they are not at all what they have or in the same condition as they show. Its a real shame. We didn't stay long enough to take photos of the weeds growing throughout the pottery, it was hard enough just getting out. read more

The pricing is better than you will find at most other local nurseries, but still a little hit or miss. Plenary of people offered to help while we were there. Knocked off a star, because one of the employees went to one of the back rows of pots and repeatedly sneezed and then blew their nose all over several pots. We had a blast doing 'window shopping' and finally getting only some cute colorful stones, but that is life, you cannot always buy what you would like. And what I liked? These giant oxidized metal sculptures of animals. I don't think they fit in my tiny apartment without crossing the ceiling boundaries of the neighbor upstairs, but if you are lucky to have a super nice backyard, this is to place to play giant giraffes and various animals. Oh, and the pottery, that is the most important item to buy here. All kinds of pots and ceramics for the patio and interiors, mostly Mexican flavored. I felt like i was in Baja California shopping for pots for my plants, like when I lived in San Diego. I got that nice feeling. This place is across from the beach, so it is a nice stop even if you want to just do kayaking or go for a walk. You will get a 'taco de ojo' (an eye taco as the Mexicans say) with so much color and clay displayed in front of your eyes. Prices were Ok, not a tourist trap. You can already get a very cute clay duck (blue, why not?) for $20. Even for the bathtub of your tiny apartment too. read more

Sadden to say I made my last visit here. I found a very cute item for $19.99 as per the price tag on the underside. I took the item to the counter, realized I left my wallet in my car. He rang up my purchase and it was $26.00 and change. I was back at my vehicle before I realized the overcharge. I flipped the item over, the price tag had been removed. I always loved driving past this while driving on Hiway 1 as it was the most colorful spot seen from the hiway. Eventually I made a stop here once and was enthralled. I came back many times after that. Such a great variety of pots and more. I loved the many statuettes and figurines. Only wish I had a huge garden to display them. From Disney characters to turtles and more. And pots? They had oodles of pots to choose from. So many colors and sizes to choose from. I was trying to find bonsai trees around here and while they did not have any bonsai available, when I called ahead 1) someone looked and let me know they didnt have any so I didn't waste a trip and 2) they offered some alternatives for finding some bonsai around this area. This is a beautiful place to come and search for pots, fountains and general garden accessories. You can stroll leisurely through the isles here and keep finding cool stuff. Inside the building they specialize in smaller and more colorful garden items from Mexico. Items can be pretty pricey but they do have certain areas on sale. They are clearly marked and located throughout the premises. There's also some neat spots for nice photo ops. Plenty of parking with 3 entrances into the yard. read more

Seas and seas of beautiful pottery, PotStop at Little Baja is immediately noticeable as you are drving along Highway 1 in the Moss Landing Area. There is a nearby lot, which is mainly filled with folks using the nearby boat launch area, but if you take a lap, you'll find a spot. We spent nearly an hour browsing the rows and rows of outdoor pottery, statues and small garden decorative items. I'm not sure how prices compared on my visit to other Yelpers visits, but I found their prices on pottery and garden decor to be reasonable and well priced. My best find of the day were several chunks or large glass "slag" in beautiful sapphire blue and emerald green that I use for decoration. I walked out of there spending about $94 but walked out with two large pieces of decorative glass, two flower pots and a glass garden owl decoration (picture attached.) All in all for the uniqueness of their wares, the super friendly customer service and the wide variety of selections, I would consider this a must-stop if you're in Monterey County and love to decorate your outdoor space. If nothing else, it's simply fun to look around. Finally, the staff was amazing-they were spread out through the vast yard and were readily available for questions or suggestions. They carried my selected pieces and held them at the register and also offered up a 20% off discount based on the amount of items I planned on purchasing. Once my wallet recovers, I am definitely looking at another stop here during the summer months. Really amazing garden decor shop! read more

LARGE selection of pricey pottery and garden statues and accents. There are some nice plant containers here, but you really have to dig for the ones that are a good deal. Many are mass produced, but are priced high for tourists like us driving to Monterey down Hwy 1. I did however, find an ADORABLE statue that I was so happy to bring home with me. Seatbelted in, we brought Mr. Hippo back home with us. Along with that, found a good deal on some candle holders, but wouldn't have expected to find them at a garden store. I gotta hand it to them, they have a MASSIVE selection of Talavera pottery and loads of pots! It took me almost an hour and I half to look through the whole place since I was searching for something cool for my kitchen. My Dad was teasing me about buying something Talavera from there considering I'm now residing in Albuquerque, NM...but I can honestly say that the Pot Stop has the most selection I've ever seen in one place. The staff members are super friendly while giving you your space to look around. My only real gripe would be the prices. As another reviewer mentioned, the prices on some things are astronomical. I don't understand how a small Talavera wall gecko is the same price as a very large bull skull...I'm talking about $100! Or a little sun & moon is the same price as a semi large wall bird. It's basically the same price across the board regardless of the size and paint design. All in all, I got a very good price on the bull skull which I ended taking to Albuquerque. I've yet to find another like it out here, but I've found some that are drastically smaller and asking for a lot more money. I'll be invading the Pot Stop again the next time I'm in the area to visit family :) Prices aside, you find some really cool stuff there. read more

one employee insulted me. I made an offer on a broken budahh which he got insulted by and verbally abused me. As we were leaving, the otheremployee offered to help (a mexican guy} who gave us a good price on the damaged budahh and we then we even bought a painted turtle for $90. Then as we were leaving, having paid, the gringo employee, says to me that he'll see alot more sunsets than I ever will. Well the whole experience was unfortunately upsetting and am sorry we didn't leave before we bought. If this guy was my employee I would dump him in a second. Unfortunately their new location is underwhelming with selection unlike the old location, and if the prices weren't high enough before, they have gone WAY up at this new location, like 30-50+% higher than anywhere else! I asked about ownership because it did not seem like the same Pot Stop in more ways than one, and sure enough Bob who had it formerly sold it out to a new person. This new person clearly does not have an interest in buying the way Bob did. The really neat and unusual items like busts/statues they use to have are gone, the fountains are gone, 90% of the place is pots and Talavera. We were really disappointed to say the least, and will definitely not be bothering to check it out anymore when visiting the Monterey Bay area. Use to be really fun and we scored some great finds, this was kind of a sad visit for us. read more

Just being in this yard brought so much happiness and peace. They have everything to make your yard happier. Yes, they are expensive, but if you are a Talavera ceramic collector, this is the spot. I especially love looking at pots that can be converted to fountains. No other yard has as many colors. The prices of the fountains are a bit misleading because they do not include the pump or foundation. The sales people are very informative and let you explore their yard for as long as you want. We used to love stopping here because of their variety and pricing. However, our last time there will be our last time there. My daughter and I were treated so rudely, it was appalling. I picked up 3 plants ($45 total) that I wanted to purchase and was very rudely told that they were NOT for sale. .just display only. When I told her where I had gotten them from, she said "I told you that they are not for sale". I am sure that the owner would certainly have wanted the sale! If you like what you see in Sunset Magazine etc. where they have all those cute pots in gardens of every size this is your playground! From small to something you could fit a small family in this has every size you could want. A small drive down the 1 south this place is conveniently located in a one stop shop area for good food, decent coffee, perhaps a kayak ride and then get some killer garden decor here. They have a great selection of large and small planters, and everything you want to go with it. I found the perfectly sized planter I was looking for here. Prices are pretty reasonable, also, based on my comparison shopping. Yeah, I still have not quite finished this project yet, as the planter is stilling empty in the living room. I'm here to share my experience with hope that as a customer of this long time place u don't get screwed over.. because thats what almost happened to me here today. Long story short I bought a peice (loved it) took 3 steps out the entrance into the parking lot and my peice broke when I turned it up side down. Literally broke in my hands. I walked back in and told the employee he said no refunds & he blamed me & said I shouldn't be turning the peice upside down. I was shocked that not even a few steps out the entrance they wouldn't give me a refund or a new peice. Well as luck would have it & by the good grace of god.. there was a extra peice like mine. So I asked the guy to grab it for me... and when he picked it up it crumbled in his hands...he looked up and said we will give u a refund. I think this was super shady. Only because the one he touched Crumbled he was forced to give me a refund. Cool place just be careful what u touch or pick up they might try n make u buy something that broke & wasn't even ur fault...... some items might be baking from the sun and I'm sure the fog doesn't help. Saw this place on the way back from Carmel and thought it'd be an interesting stop. There were a whole lot of pottery, fountains and ceramic trinkets. The prices were really high, like $49 for a small pot. It's a bit incomprehensible since the wares were clearly mass-produced and the location didn't merit that type of upscale pricing.
